I'm a little uncomfortable about trying to authenticate a bag that should have a serial number but doesn't. There are no specific or unique-to-Coach details on the Wendie style that can prove beyond a doubt that specific example was made by Coach. Is there anything stamped on the back of the strap buckle, such as "solid brass"? If so, please post a photo. The spacing of the words in the creed does match several genuine P-plant examples in my files made in the late 1990s EXCEPT for one detail so that's a half-point in its favor and a half-point against. Another detail in its favor is that it has a made in Costa Rica creed, which counterfeiters would be very unlikely to use.

Usually any bag with a production mistake like that would have been transferred to the outlets but I don't see any hint of an outlet stamp. Or sometimes they would be put in an Employee Sale and stamped accordingly. The Costa Rica plant produced some oddball creeds and that may be one of them

So, I would say that there's about a 90 percent chance that it's genuine but I'm not giving it a full authentication unless I'm 100 percent sure. And I definitely would NOT try to resell it.
Hello Hyacinth, the bags are for my personal use, so I won't try so resell it. I just want to know if it's genuine  Here are some more pictures of the buckle. Thank you!

Hello authenticators. I found this bag on instagram. It’s a willis bag in black. The measurements are 10.65 x 10.2 inches. Hardware is solid brass. Could you help me authenticate?? This bag is a dream and its been really hard to bring it back to life. Thank you!

Looking to see if I purchased a real coach at an estate sale this weekend. It’s a cosmetic case I would guess? No serial, and there’s a bullseye on the creed. Creed says made in China.

It's authentic. I would expect the hardware to be brass plated. Solid brass hardware is very heavy and they had phased it out by the time this bag was made. It looks to be in great condition. Have you seen our rehab club? https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club.833400/

We can never know 100% it is genuine. All we can do is guess. Sometimes there were mistakes so it is possible they left off the creed number. I personally own a bag that I feel this happened to. The strap hardware looks like what I would expect to see on a genuine Coach but the creed spacing seems off to me. I don't have any examples in my files that match. Like Hyacinth said, there are points in favor but points against.

I think it looks good. It appears to be #7193 chunky case, made around 2003.

ETA: next time if there is no creed number, please provide measurements.

Hi Everyone,

I bought this little swing pack which I believe to be style F43893. The body of the bag looks okay, but I think the strap is fake.

Would appreciate an expert eye on this.

Size - 18.5cm x 21cm
Bought from - Vinted UK
Seller - tiffanynyc261208

Thank you in advance 🙏

A quick search of Ebay and tPF for "Coach 43893" shows that Coach did not make that strap. This is the same style with the original strap.

The bag itself seems to be genuine but the strap is an inexpensive replacement.

I don't know how the bag was described by the seller or what Vinted's policies are about Not As Described items so I can't make any suggestions other that, in the future, you authenticate potential purchases here before committing to the purchase. We would have spotted the substitution.

Please post a link to the actual listing if it's still available.

Thank you! New to this, so apologies in advance if I've omitted anything...

Item: Coach City 9780
Where purchased or how obtained: ShopGoodwill.com
Comments: leather seems lighter (flimsier?) compared to other authentic bags I own; I realize this is an outlet bag, but I do not have any to compare to for ease of mind. Further, the creed wording varies from others as well.

Measurements:11x8x3.5

And any confirmation on color is also greatly appreciated! Is this British Tan?

Thank you Hyacinth, I thought as much, the strap feels and looks cheap. I always think it’s best to check with you, as Coach aren’t consistent. The seller has accepted the return with no comment.

Sadly, anything of a reasonable price gets snapped up, so adding in the time difference UK to US checking first becomes difficult.

Thanks again, appreciate your time and expertise.

Coach did remakes of some of their classic leather styles in China only for the Outlet stores beginning in about 2003 after they stopped producing bags in the US. They all have either the Bulls-eye outlet stamp like that example or the "F" code for "Factory Stores" in front of the style number.

The leather was not the same as the original styles. I bought one made during that time and ended up returning it. I wouldn't call it poor quality but it wasn't exactly the same as the older non-China bags. Yours is one of the Outlet-only remakes. It's still a genuine Coach product.
