Dear Authenticators,

This is a general question regarding something I've seen within a YouTube video and I wanted to understand if it was correct. Is it true that there were some bags for a while that Coach didn't put serial/ID numbers in, around 2016 sort of time?

I have a Swagger 27 that doesn't have the serial on the creed and I can't find any little white labels within the inside of the zipper pocket and I'm trying to figure out if it is genuine. It was a gift my mum bought me, I would ask where she purchased but unfortunately she has since passed away.

Thank you for reading :)

Hello Authenticators,
Could you please check my latest thrift store find when you get a chance? It looks and feels like my other burnished bags but I just want to make sure. Also, would I need to wait until exactly Jan 2004 to call this a vintage if it's authentic? Thank you! :)

If you read the thread pinned at the top of each indexed page in this Coach Shopping forum titled "Salearea Guides" you'll find 6 Guides on everything from common and usually incorrect Coach myths to histories and explanations of Coach creeds and serial numbers. All your questions on those subjects including the "missing" serial numbers from between 2014 and 2017 are probably answered there. Please read the entire 5-page thread, there's also a list of some of the most common fake serial numbers in vintage Coaches.

ETA - Without any small tags inside the bag showing the production codes it may be impossible for us or anyone else to accurately authenticate it. Be sure to actually feel along the seams and turn the inside pockets inside-out if possible.

Genuine but I don't have an exact name for it in my files. It will be "vintage" in July 2024

Does this shopgoodwill listing have adequate information for authentication? They describe the item as authentic, but I'm more than a bit dubious.

We NEVER consider Entrupy, or any of Goodwill's other services, as dependable authentication services for Coach products.

This bag is genuine, made in 2011 but I don't know the name.

Thank you so much for your response Hyacinth and all the time it must have taken for you to put the guides together :). I am new to the forum and landed here from a Google search and hadn't seen the Sale Area threads, they were most helpful. After reading I'm erring on the side of the bag not being real :( It does have a made in Vietnam tag inside but I've not been successful in locating the other one. I'll give it another go later and post some pictures but I'm not confident this one is the real deal :)
