Thank you. Who was Patricia Snyder? I know the story of the Janice Legacy about her grandfather surviving the depression, but I would love to learn more about the history of the other people who Coach made Legacy bags after. Do you have any info about them?

The only things I know are what I posted catalog links to 8 years ago:

Awesome thanks! :)

Hi @BeenBurned, I have decided to try to sell this bag and posted it on my local area Nextdoor app as being from the 60’s / 70’s pre creed. I’ve just had someone who claims to be an authority on Coach bags and willing to provide “credentials” inform me that “The bag was late 90’s like 1999 or early 2000. Coach put out the nickel parts during that time period for the first time. It’s a fine bag. Well made etc. high quality leather but it isn’t 60’s, 70’s or even 80’s“. I am not sure where she’s getting the “nickel parts” from as the buckles are clearly stamped “solid brass”.

I would greatly appreciate you sharing some of your knowledge with me about this bag. I trust you, @Hyacinth, @whateve and everyone else here far more than this person and would like to be well informed before I respond to them. I can provide more photos if you would like.
Thank you!

So if I'm reading this correctly, some clueless self-anointed "authority" is questioning your description because s/he CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PRE-CREED 40-PLUS-YEARS OLD CRESCENT BAG, STYLE 9235 THAT COACH HAD ALREADY INTRODUCED AT LEAST AS EARLY AS 1976 and which had a vertical seam down the center of the flap as well as solid brass buckles and would ONLY have had a small "COACH" stamp on the inside leather during the 1970s...
(Coach's small fold-out mini catalog from 1976):

, ... and a SADDLE BAG, style 9988 with NO VERTICAL SEAM ON THE FLAP, A FULL SET OF CREED AND SERIAL NUMBER STAMPS INCLUDING THAT STYLE NUMBER, AND NO "SOLID BRASS" STAMP ON THE HARDWARE, and that wasn't even introduced until Spring of 1997?
from Coach's Spring 1997 catalog, tell that "expert" to note the complete LACK of a center seam down the front of the SADDLE BAG and the word "NEW" right in the description:

That so called "expert" is a bloody IDIOT and if you want to supply her name or any public site where s/he's posted such a blatant indication why no one should EVER trust his/her opinion about Coach products at least until Hell freezes over and even afterwards, I will be more than happy to tell her so. Or you can send her a link to both your original post and the one immediately following where BeenBurned, who is probably the BEST Coach authenticator on the internet or even on the planet, already declared it genuine, and I agree 100 percent with that BeenBurned authentication.

along with this reply by me (close to 20 years experience buying, collecting AND authenticating mostly vintage Coach items, and with a photo library of more than 70,000 photos of genuine and fake Coaches their details and catalogs going back to 1976):

If that self-appointed "expert" wants to make a small wager about that bag with the seam down the front, what it was called and when it was made, I'm more than willing. Ask her how much she can afford to lose.

ETA - and BTW, tell that "Expert" that there is NO SUCH THING AS "CREDENTIALS" for Coach authenticators. Certainly coach has NEVER issued any kind of credentials, they don't even allow designated company employees to authenticate any more and haven't even offered a paid in-house authentication service for well over a decade. So s/he's already proved themselves to be a liar. Someone's an expert when other RECOGNISED experts on publicly-available websites say so. And someone who doesn't know the difference between a 40-plus-years-old Crescent Bag and a late 1990s remake is as much a Coach expert as I'm the Queen Of England.

I won an auction for some keychains on shopgoodwill. https://shopgoodwill.com/item/153102439 Please and thank you for an authentication opinion! I think one is a "valet" keychain that separates into two.

Both are genuine. The one on the left is style 92161, the 2007 Breast Cancer Awareness month Keyfob (perfect for October!).

Give me a few more minutes to find the valet keyfob.

ETA - I'm sure the second one is genuine but I can only find the original single-keyring version of it. This might be more recent.

Thank you! I really appreciate you and all this information. Like I said, I 100% trusted BeenBurned’s authentication and was definitely not questioning it but I feel better having more details and validation. Not to mention knowing I can refer them to you, a real expert for some schooling. . Just an FYI, her name is Susan Wood and she lives in the Seattle, Wa area. For some reason I have a feeling she could work for GW or some other thrift outlet and based on what I’ve seen on this forum, those authenticators don’t know $h*t! I have not looked into whether or not she is selling her ”expertise” anywhere but will definitely be on the look out. What really ticked me off is this was unsolicited, what she said was totally insulting and she’s not even interested in buying the bag. Even if she was, she doesn’t deserve it. Again, thank you so much!

I agree with you about Goodwill being incompetent toauthenticate Coaches, and their paid authenticators especially Entrupy are even worse!

The thought of some incompetent phony "selling her expertise" is not just scary but INFURIATING. So, SUSAN WOOD OF THE SEATTLE AREA, if you're out there claiming to be a Coach expert, even if you're GIVING AWAY your useless and potentially dangerous opinions, you're still massively overcharging for them since you can't even recognise a genuine Coach when you see one. Anyone asking SUSAN WOOD for a Coach "authentication" is wasting time and probably going to lose money.

JMO.

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum :) I would like help authenticating this coach bag I got from a thrift shop in Korea. There is no made in tag inside the bag. If it is genuine, is that normal for some bags to not have made in tags? I'm just used to seeing the them with made in tags :)
Please let me know if you need any more info or pictures. Thank you in advance for your help! ☺️

Please post (as a Reply to either your post here or mine) either the seller's original listing photo of the creed and serial number or if that's not available, your own READABLE photo of those details since my computer can't open Poshmark photos. Some genuine Reginas DID have an incorrect style number but we always need to see actual photos.

Also be advised that the metal chain strap is not the strap that Coach originally included with the bag.
Hello! Here are the pictures including a clearer picture of the creed that I took. Thank you so much, really appreciate the help. I am very new to this and have a lot to learn. I also am aware that the strap is not original  Please let me know if you need an even clearer creed and I can attempt to get another one.
