It's a genuine Regina Bag made in late 1995. The serial number 9985 instead of 9983 is one of the known factory mistakes that we've seen before in genuine bags.

Both are genuine. The one on the left is style 92161, the 2007 Breast Cancer Awareness month Keyfob (perfect for October!).

Give me a few more minutes to find the valet keyfob.

ETA - I'm sure the second one is genuine but I can only find the original single-keyring version of it. This might be more recent.

I agree with you about Goodwill being incompetent toauthenticate Coaches, and their paid authenticators especially Entrupy are even worse!

The thought of some incompetent phony "selling her expertise" is not just scary but INFURIATING. So, SUSAN WOOD OF THE SEATTLE AREA, if you're out there claiming to be a Coach expert, even if you're GIVING AWAY your useless and potentially dangerous opinions, you're still massively overcharging for them since you can't even recognise a genuine Coach when you see one. Anyone asking SUSAN WOOD for a Coach "authentication" is wasting time and probably going to lose money.

Found her! The self proclaimed ”credentialed expert” is on Poshmark as @siouxanwould. I am dumbfounded by her response. I feel like I might be on some sick reality prank show or something. I will not engage further and have blocked her on Nextdoor and will do the same on Poshmark and anywhere else I find her. I highly recommend that anyone reading this heed my warning and steer clear of this person. She is a perfect example of why I often say “people are the worst!”.

Look obviously I think you’re a noob know it all and why do I waste my time? Right? Okay and there in lies the rub. Call me the velvet hammer dear, because I wrote you privately and I didn’t need to - It’s not polite or nice to tell a narcissist noob that they are wrong in front of anyone. Interesting that it appears that she doesn't currently have any Coach bags for sale....nor has she sold any Coach bags. Seems odd that a ”credentialed expert” wouldn't be selling what she knows so much about.

Both are genuine, Court Bag from 1999 and Devon Bag style 9908 made in the early 1990s

Her reply doesn't even make any sense.

One of the first things any authenticator with an ounce of brains learns is that you NEVER use the "tag" by which I'm guessing she means the hangtag, to authenticate a Coach since probably at least a fourth (just a very rough estimate and NOT based on an actual count) of vintage Coaches have had the hangtag replaced, often by something from a different time period. (There isn't even any hangtag in the photos the seller posted here BTW).

Then "Susan" mentions nickel hardware but the bag in the photos posted by the tPF member clearly shows BRASS hardware. If "Susan" wants to post actual screencaps of the tPF member's listing that Susan claims is a 1997 Coach with nickle hardware, I'll wait.


If "Susan" aka "siouxanwould" has ANY complaint about the facts in MY reply, she can take it up with ME, I'm sure it won't take long for her to find more than enough examples of MY experience in authenticating. She can start with searching here at tPF for my posts. And she can also search here for posts about Coach authenticity from BeenBurned since her expertise is also being called into question, although that will take a bit longer. Let's see, what's 34,000 posts plus another 50,000 posts...? Should only take her about 4 to 6 months to read them all if she's a fast reader. Then she can start on the Salearea Guides thread. Is being tPF-authorized and approved Coach authenticators (the ONLY way anyone is allowed to authenticate here at tPF) "credentialed" enough for you? And could you please post a photo of YOUR "credentials"?

Susan, I suggest you find a nice comfy chair and a LOT of coffee and START READING. Meanwhile, I stand by my previous statements. Like i keep saying over and over and over again, please leave the Coach authenticating to the experts.
