This proves my point about Poshmark and way too many of the sellers there.

You had defended Poshmark and in this post, I explained my observations stating that many sellers go to Poshmark after their items were removed from ebay or from other sites that actually respond to reports.

In this case, after ebay's mytenpoint had the listing removed, it was listed by Poshmark's mytenpoint. Clearly she knows it's fake since it was removed from ebay. But does she care? Obviously not!

And she also has it listed on Mercari - Mytenpoint

Ebay: mytenpoint
Poshmark: mytenpoint
Mercari: Mytenpoint
I didn’t defend PoshMark. I said there are fakes on many sites and I know some good sellers on PoshMark. I was burned on eBay many times in my 30+ years of shopping on that site. I’m in my 50’s so I have seen some things. I don’t think there is any one perfectly safe online reseller venue.

Granted, there are fakes everywhere. The IMPORTANT thing is that Ebay is still the quickest at removing them once they're reported by what they deem to be experienced members. They also are much more prompt at refunding when someone reports buying a fake. Poshmark does neither.

Also the best way to report fakes on PoshMark is screen shot it, copy paste the listing link then message them directly. They will respond. I’ve seen it happen. I’m going to report this one and we can see if they remove it.

one can’t just click report it. I contact them directly with the link. Otherwise I don’t see fakes removed.

i just sent a direct message to PoshMark support to include a screenshot of the bag as well as a link to the listing. Let’s see how long it takes for them to remove it or if they remove it.

Respectfully, I have to dispute your recommendations.

As someone who volunteers countless hours of my time and expertise on multiple sites (without any form of compensation and often with abuse from people who don't like what I say), I question why a site that I don't even buy or sell on would expect or only respond to reports when one makes the extra effort to hit the "report" button to report!

Why have a "report" button if they're going to ignore such reports and only respond to direct messages with screenshots? That's not my job nor should it be required!

You're fairly new here so you may not be as aware of some of the history some of us have with PM over the years.

Although I hadn't done business there, there was a time that I had a Poshmark account, did authenticate Poshmark listings here and sometimes, when tagged to a listing on PM, I'd post there. Often those tags were done to convince sellers that their item was a fake because others would advise them but seller was in denial.

Instead of ending their listings after learning they "mistakenly" had a fake, many of those dishonest less-than-honorable reported my post (as well as those of other messengers) and I was suspended.

Not only did they suspend the person/people who tried to keep the site safe but the message those suspended people receive deflects the blame for the block on other members rather than on the site as making the decision to block.

The way I discovered this underhanded move was when a TPF'er tagged me to a listing. When I tried to contact that TPF'er through PM, the message that popped up stated something to the effect of, "this member has blocked you." WTF wouldn't Poshmark tell me that I was suspended, rather than blaming their members?!?!?

Another incident came when that same TPF member (who'd tagged me in a previous listing) bought and received an obvious (to us) fake. She disputed the purchase and requested a refund. Poshmark denied the claim, stating that their "authenticators" deemed it genuine and no refund was due.

The TPF member/buyer appealed and Poshmark agreed to examine the bag in person. After receiving it, again, their "experts" deemed it authentic but as a goodwill gesture, they would issue a refund.

It was at that point that I'd had enough and saw Poshmark for the (at best) misleading site they are and at worst, downright dangerous!

If they really cared, they would be more proactive.

JMHO. YMMV.

ETA: The Poshmark from mytenpoint (who has since been suspended from ebay) is still up!

Oh yeah that sounds like a really bad experience!

So where’s the best place to find vintage, authentic Coach?

There are so many scammers on Posh and some on Mercari for sure. I’ve only been scammed once on Etsy.

I don’t shop on eBay very often anymore after being burned by a few buyers who legit destroyed their items OR claimed they never signed for something that they clearly signed for (they said it wasn’t them) OR in another case a buyer claimed an electronic item didn’t work 5-months after their purchase.

All filed PayPal claims close to the 6-month mark. Caused me so much trouble because PayPal held the funds until the disputes were cleared. I’m not a business so random $300 and $400 being deducted and held from my checking account caused major problems.

I did win those but never again will I sell on eBay and I only very rarely buy there. I sold my husband’s brand new ($400) Wolf watch winder there about 5 years ago and the buyer filed a return request because they said it didn’t work.

Got it back and it looked like they kicked it in. It was totally destroyed. Not even the same item! I think they switched it out for their own.

Anyway, I’d love to know a safe place to buy vintage Coach if anyone knows.

Thanks.

See that really makes me angry when a seller KNOWS they are selling a fake! She is the kind of seller that needs to be suspended.

I've been pleasantly surprised by how quickly Mercari removes reported fakes.

The way reporting works on Poshmark is different than on other sites. They ask members if they would like to review reported listings. Those members then see a variety of listings and they can choose yes, it's fake, no, it isn't fake, or I'm not sure. I assume they have to get a preponderance of yeses in order to remove the listing. This whole process takes longer to get something removed than on other sites. By the time a member gets to review these listings, many of the sellers have gotten wise and have changed the listing.

I've found Mercari to be responsive when listings are posted on the HOS and reported by multiple users. They don't seem to remove based on a single report.
PM still hasn’t removed MyTenPoint’s listing that I contacted them directly with this morning. When I do report things I don’t usually keep track of timelines but this time I did. Someone actually bought it yesterday then cancelled their purchase so the seller reposted it. I do see your point about them not being responsive now.
