I'm not questioning authenticity but in the listing from jddowndog shows a different creed/serial number than the bag you received.

This is from the listing:

And this is your picture, definitely a different serial number on a different bag;

The creed picture the poster posted is for item #5, the roll bag.

Thank you to whoever "cleaned" the thread, it was not the usual pleasant forum we all appreciate, plus by now most of us know what sellers to stay away from.
So now that my question won't get lost among the "other stuff", LOL

In my possession, from marketplace.
Item: Dakota Lariat
Size: About 10 x 8.5 x 3.5 inches
Comments: I know that the lack of number in the creed is fine, but I have two concerns... 1) the buckle is stamped as solid brass and I am not sure (I can not find on my notes now) when they stopped stamping the buckles. 2) as pretty obvious to see, the pocket leather doesn't match the rest, is much lighter. I have not see that on any other purses.

It's authentic. These did have solid brass. Classic styles stopped using solid brass much earlier.

Thank you so much for your fast reply whateve.
So any other styles that might also have two different kind of leather inside? Was that normal? Trying to learn....

If I could make a small correction?

The Dakota bags from 1991-92 didn't have any linings, the pigskin suede was only used for the inside pocket and the rest of the bag was unlined.

The slightly later Sheridans had a full fabric lining.

As for the buckle, there are half a dozen posts here on the subject including the stamped "solid brass" buckles on my own Dakotas from 1991 or 1992:

Comments: not familiar with this color, creed number, and wallet

Thank you so much for your time and efforts!
This was authenticated a day or two ago. The wallet isn't Coach. Since the bag was made before 1994, it has a unique serial number.

Is it possible to get a crystal clear and well-focused straight on picture of the creed?

Is the second "C" in Coach a G? Is the first "C" screwed up? Some of the text also looks very strange.

On the white tag, is the first line N in No. wiggly?

I’ve attached a few more photos- it’s nearly impossible to get a good one of the creed. The pebble surface combined with the shininess of the finish just doesn’t equate to good photos. I see what you mean about that second C, although it does seem to be a C in person. The A in Coach seems to be embossed a little deeper than the other letters too. As far as the style tag goes, the N in No. is straight- the fabric of the tag is very slightly wrinkled at the seam, which is what’s making it look crooked. Like I said earlier, the leather just doesn’t feel right, but maybe it’s just the style. I’ve got a market tote that should have been made around the same time as this bag, and the market tote leather feels much thinner and more supple (that bag is unlined though) than this turnlock tote.
