Hi ladies. Do any of you know where I can get a 3.1 Phillip Lim bag authenticated? I find a thread but it looks like no one replied to the requests. I bought one from eBay and I think it's fake. And the bag I received looks a very different shade than pictured but seller claims it's her camera. I can't find any serial numbers anywhere . I have this awful feeling I got a case of switched bag and I didn't get the bag pictured. Ugh.

****************** does 3.1 Phillip Lim. I just used them for a Louis Vuitton this week. I did normal service. Paid around 1pm on Monday, and had my response at 11am on Tuesday.

Hello all here is one more of the group that needs a look.
the rest I have all look good and i have a feeling the estate sale owner I got them at possibly worked for Coach
at one time because they all have that "irregular" stamp on the creed and there are some doubles of the styles
just different colors. maybe you get stuff cheap if you work there?:biggrin:
anyway, this one is a very dark navy and it is 9 1/2 W X 6 H X 2D & about 19 strap drop, the clips have the anchor sign
on the inside

Hi ladies, I would like your opinion on these two bags. Same model, seem to be made at the same plant within a month from each other (unless I misunderstood the code), and yet they have very different stamps. What do you think? Both authentic? One fake? I was looking at the caramel one and decided to compare with the others on EBay, thus the question.

Hello ladies! I have a cabin bag that has a couple details that seem a little odd to me, compared to other images I've seen online. I know that Coach uses more than YKK zippers, but I've never seen ones that look like this- sort of brushed? Also from other pictures I've seen it looks like the zipper pulls should have the cartouche stamp on them? Thanks so much for your expertise!

The bag is fine.

ETA: Regarding your comment about the Coach logo, are you sure that in the listing(s) you saw with it, you weren't looking at the luggage tag?

I agree with BeenBurned, hardware and zippers can change. It's the creeds that are important.

That's because they're two slightly different types of leather. Coach was using an "individually burnished" type with an added step to give it a natural-looking patina for some styles and colors during that time (roughly 2002-2005) and one style number might have had some burnished types and colors and some in the "natural cowhide" kind. I'm not sure but the leathers from bags with those particular creeds from those style lines will usually be thinner and softer than the classic "glove-tanned" cowhide.

Here are 3 examples - same exact style 9570, which I've owned in 4 different colors, some "burnished", some not, so I'm very familiar with that style. Visually there IS a difference in the look of the leathers between the two variations, and the creeds are different. One natural cowhide leather, two burnished, SAME BAG. And the stamps aren't "very different", they're just describing 2 different leather processes.

You can count on anything with that "irregular" stamp to be genuine - genuine Pocket Purse 9755 probably mid-1980s
