Everyone has their own opinion on what a body should look like I guess.
I'm more concerned with health and either being to heavy or to thin is a problem.
And as far as I'm concerned, She is too heavy just as say AJ is too thin.

What makes you think she is unhealthy? My coworker has a very similar built. She is overweight but has no medical issues, no diabetes, blood pressure problems , cardiac problems etc. She jokes that she was was born overweight and will never be skinny. She is active in that works out 4-5 days a week and plays tennis regularly. Some of my colleagues did a challenge for a week to climb up 20 flight of stairs once a day at work instead of taking elevators and she did it with no problems.
Her main problem is that she enjoys dining out and has a sweet tooth. She is 48 y/o and her primary care doctor has never told her she needs to lose weight, just that she should be more mindful as she is getting older.
I had a friend who was a functional alcoholic but was slim and very well dressed but no one would have guessed her many health issues just by looking at her. The assumption on this forum that someone is unhealthy because they don't fit into a standard size is funny to me.

^we are conditioned to believe that some weight automatically mean the person is unhealthy. There are many people who fall into "plus size" who are not unhealthy....obviously having weight on you means that you're chances of issues due to weight increase if you gain more but that doesn't necessarily mean doom. Melissa McCartney is carrying more weight than Ashley but folks don't have as much an issue there. Most of the comments on Ashley seem to be due to her being a model and not the typical rail thin model.

Same here. I am tall so that helps, but it still sucks.
...
Oh.................and my feet grew at least a full size and my vision did a complete 180 literally overnight.
...
I feel you. My feet, too. And without my reading glasses I am basically illiterate because I can't read / write a thing.
Oh, the joys of aging....

I would bet, that IRL, she looks so much better...I really think it comes down to body type....yes, she could defiantely lose a few, but body type is very hard to fight..as I have said, she has a flat stomach and a really nice waist..and her face is not heavy....I wonder if she was larger as a kid....

In my experience, unless a woman is wearing something super revealing or poorly fitting, no one really cares. I mean, sure, I might think "She's rather obese", but I'm not going to make it a point to voice that to my friends, nor have I heard my friends do that. Obviously I'm not privy to girl talk, but in mixed company it's not something discussed. The first sentence applies to men too
Charles - you're not privy to girl talk??? Girl, you're the only straight male here!!! This is the closest you'll ever come to being in an all-girl's sorority, so just shut it and start serving those hors d'oeuvres honey

My issue is cause she's putting forth that her body size as OK. It's not. She's flat out modeling her body for people to see. That's not what MM is doing. She's not saying "Look at me. You can look like me. It's OK". Ashley is. And again, I'm all for different body types being put forth as OK, but not an overweight body. There's a difference between accepting someone that's overweight, treating them like a regular person, not making fun of them, and putting forth an overall idea that being overweight is fine.
Look, I'm aware that some overweight people are "healthy", but EVERY medical studies show that, for the majority of people, if you're overweight, you're more likely to have health issues earlier in life. There will always be that one friend who's overweight (by how much??) who has no health problems and her doc isn't concerned (although I find that very hard to believe). That's not the norm and shouldn't be used as an excuse for being excessively overweight, borderline obese.

If you want to go by the BMI calculations and she is actually 5ft 9in and weighs 170 pounds, (she looks like she weighs more in my opinion), her BMI is around 25.1 which is considered overweight.
Just as another example, if she is 5ft 9in and weighs 200 pounds, her BMI would be 29.5
30 is considered obese.
IMO she weighs more than 200 pounds which is very unhealthy.

If she is 5.9 170, then she has no muscle mass whatsoever ...I believe she weighs much more....you can be 170 and 5.9 and be all muscle....woman tennis players weigh quite a bit....but they're very lean...

I'm wondering if she feels pressure to not lose weight and maintain some fat so that she can remain a plus size model? I remember reading somewhere a long long time ago that this is a particular pressure for plus size models, because then they are too skinny to be plus size yet still too big to be a "typical" model. Which is funny because many women fall in that same position.

She's not putting anything out there. There's a market for plus size models and she's decided to make some money. She clearly works out which is more than other people do who are sitting on their inactive butts while talking about her....so she's doing significantly better. Y'all are extra. I can be considered overweight by these one-note standards of being rail thin with no hips, thighs, or butt. Not everyone wants to live like that and there are very many people who are a plus sized (size 12-18) who are healthy. I don't even know why I'm responding to you...lol.

My BMI on one of those lame basic calculators that only use weight and height is something like 25-27, which is like a point or two from being "overweight" on the chart....I workout at minimum 5 days a week and my weight is mostly muscle, my stomach is flat, my arms/leg muscular and toned, my real BMI is something like 23-24....stop with this stupid simple BMI measure as being all that meaningful. You have no way of knowing her BMI unless you have all of her measurements/a handheld analyzer to properly calculate BMI.
