Here are pictures of the flakiness. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.View attachment 2955979View attachment 2955980
It disappears for a short time when I wipe it gently with a damp cloth with water. It's white and flaky. I can see it more when I rub the canvas up. It's very disappointing. I plan on going to LV on Saturday. I'll let you know what happens.
Are these bags made in a specific country or do they vary where they are made? Just curious...
I checked all of my canvas bags and I have no peeling to report. Is LV using the new canvas on other bags as well? Last time I looked at the Delightful and Totally in-store, neither felt rubbery like the Artsy.
Also: do you guys think SLGs are susceptible to flaking? I checked my Clemence wallet that I bought almost 2 months ago, and just to be safe I checked my older SLGs. None had any peeling whatsoever.
Honestly, this has really put me off. I have no idea why all of these quality issues are transpiring. Someone had posted their beautiful new Bagatelle and it had some tiny, black glue marks on it. Another member received a shoddily glazed V wallet. Not to mention different shades of patina on a brand new azur Delightful posted by another individual that - sorry to say - looked lousy. Not trying to be negative but this is getting ridiculous.
I did the same! I don't know what to think. I am new to LV just in the past two and a half years. I still think I am going to get the totally. I have the metis and have been using since February and it looks good. It's the rubbery canvas, MIF, made in January 2015. My speedy b is MIU, October 2014 and has no issues. I also checked all my SLGs, and my brand new favorite purchased in March and nothing. I am going ahead with my next purchase because I feel like LV will stand behind their bags and replace if there are any issues.
Personally, I would not purchase a canvas bag right now. I would wait for them to rectify the problem. Clearly this is a universal defect with the mono canvas line and it needs prompt adjustment.
I'm sure they would offer an exchange if it does happen, I have no doubt about that. But I wouldn't want to go through the hassle of perpetually checking over my bag and then having to bring it back if it starts to look like a hot mess. I'm not that desperate to buy a purse.
Sorry, I don't mean to sound negative. I'm just irritated. I bought the Mono Artsy a month ago and noticed peeling the day I got it. Needless to elaborate, it went straight back. Poor Linene, she's been through like 2 of them already. Or was it 3? Sorry, I lost count.
I hope you get a perfect one without any issues. On the bright side, you have vigilance working in your favor, so if anything does happen, I'm sure you will notice right away.
Do you have pics of what your corners look like? Did you notice it right away or is it something that just started after using for months? I really was hoping to get the totally next month. So disappointed.
That is exactly what my delightful looks like all over! I brought it on monday and just got a call back saying that they are replacing it with a new one so hopefully yours gets replaced too!!
