I received my totally yesterday and it is stamped for the 8th week of 2015. It is free of peeling.
I was told they started using the new canvas to prevent cracking.

There were only 2 totally bags when I was there. One had peeling and the other was a display without peeling. I had the choice of returning the next day when more would arrive but I chose the display which is in perfect condition. The other was taken off the floor.

We are close! I finally received great service from Macy's at Herald Square and I almost didn't go there. I thought LVMH on 57th would be most familiar with the issue but they were the worst. I agree that it could be hit or miss depending on who you speak with. I imagine Saks would have been a good choice but I didn't think of it at the time.

No problem! I'm just glad that they treated you better and you were taken care of. When I bought a few SLGs last year at that store, they were very accommodating. I will probably visit them again this summer.

Thank you. I will make sure to go there when I decide to purchase something from LV. I'm actually thinking of purchasing a wallet to match my bag 😊.

Which wallet were you thinking?! If you like wallets that zip, I would definitely go with a Zippy wallet. I just bought the Clemence in fuchsia about 2 months ago, and I love it! I think overall LV has beautiful SLGs, so I'm sure you can find one that you love :smile1:

I'm glad you're enjoying your wallet. I looked at the clemence wallet. I liked it in fuchsia the most. It is absolutely beautiful. The zippy was the manager's favorite. They're all so beautiful. I'm trying to keep everything as lightweight as possible. I'm torn between the Pallas compact wallet and the Anais.
BTW, I didn't see any peeling on any of them.

Between the two you mentioned, I vote for Pallas compact! It looks really nice! Love the contrast of black against mono :cool:

I think the peeling is isolated to the new canvas that they started using for Artsy, and now Delightful and possibly the Totally. SLGs are probably safe! So you should be good to go with whatever wallet you choose :smile1:

That's good to know that the SLG's are safe.
I love the contrast too. I wish they made a totally with black or brown leather straps/piping.

Has anyone heard anything about the peeling issue being fixed? Another member mentioned that LV is now aware of it..

I know I previously stated that I was giving up on the Artsy. That was frustration speaking. Of course I still love it :girlsigh:

When I inspected the bottom and there is peeling all along the bottom as well. I think I am going to take it back to the store this week and get a different style bag until they get the issue fixed. Oh no that's awful! I can't believe it's peeling all along the top edge like that too! What a disaster this new canvas is!

I went to the LVMH Tower in NYC and had an even worse experience.
I was informed to go to repair service on the 4th floor where the young lady soaked it with conditioner and told me where I could purchase the conditioner and then do it myself. This was her resolution! I told her the white stuff seems to be from a problem with the canvas and will reappear which it did in less than a minute, however, not as much in that moment. She said, she never encountered this problem before and stated it was from normal use and asked where I stored it because the weather (dry/humid) may have been a factor. I wasn't satisfied with her explanation and asked to speak to the manager. She brought me to the main floor to a manager, Margaux.L who could care less. She said she couldn't see anything. I showed her the totally on display which showed the same thing on the corners and she said that it's from moving it around to show customers. I asked to see a new one but she refused and stated that she didn't want me to go through them & couldn't care less about what I read on the Internet. She said, she would do nothing for me at this moment because the bag was in very good condition. She stated to come back within a year from when it was purchased if it worsens. I asked for something in writing because I don't want to be told in the future that I waited too long to bring it in but she refused. The young lady from repair service stated that she could send the bag to California where they can examine it.

On the way home, I decided to stop at another LV not expecting much but to my surprise the manager took the time to inspect the bag, noticed it, I showed her the same thing which was on a new one in the store, she took pics and got back to me within 3 days. I exchanged it for one that is free of this peeling flakiness mess.

I had this exact same problem with my Fuscia Neo NF that I purchased last October. I would wipe it with a damp cloth and it would be better and then it would come back a few days later. it wasn't noticable unless you were really looking for it. Finally, I used my fingernail and scraped the peeling parts off and that fixed it. The problem went away. I ended up selling the bag when I bought my mon mono NF.

Just when I thought this thread was finally dying down, another instance of peeling pops up. I'm so sorry that happened to your bag... but congrats on your mon mono!

I think LV is now aware of the issue, so hopefully all of the defective bags will soon diminish from their inventory.
