Artsy and new canvas issues?

I bought my first artsy in Dec 2013. Back in Feb I noticed some cracking around the top of my bag. I took it to my LV store and they exchanged it for the new artsy. Today I was getting out of the car with my bag and something at the top edge caught my eye. All around the edge there is peeling. When I inspected the bottom and there is peeling all along the bottom as well. I think I am going to take it back to the store this week and get a different style bag until they get the issue fixed. this is just terrible. I am scared of anything mono at this point...

Thank you. I did feel insulted. Once this is resolved, I may very well write a complaint letter. Maybe she'll become 1 step closer in receiving additional training in customer service.

You are not alone on the totally peeling. I just noticed my Mono Totally MM with the date AR2103 is peeling on the corner too. My bag is beyond the 1 year time frame. I wonder if they would do anything. Its a lot more minor compared to your pictures.

You should bring it to the store and explain others have had the same issue. It doesn't hurt to try.

I decided to go to a different LV the day after my awful experience with Kristi from Manhasset who, BTW, never did get back to me.

I went to the LVMH Tower in NYC and had an even worse experience.
I was informed to go to repair service on the 4th floor where the young lady soaked it with conditioner and told me where I could purchase the conditioner and then do it myself. This was her resolution! I told her the white stuff seems to be from a problem with the canvas and will reappear which it did in less than a minute, however, not as much in that moment. She said, she never encountered this problem before and stated it was from normal use and asked where I stored it because the weather (dry/humid) may have been a factor. I wasn't satisfied with her explanation and asked to speak to the manager. She brought me to the main floor to a manager, Margaux.L who could care less. She said she couldn't see anything. I showed her the totally on display which showed the same thing on the corners and she said that it's from moving it around to show customers. I asked to see a new one but she refused and stated that she didn't want me to go through them & couldn't care less about what I read on the Internet. She said, she would do nothing for me at this moment because the bag was in very good condition. She stated to come back within a year from when it was purchased if it worsens. I asked for something in writing because I don't want to be told in the future that I waited too long to bring it in but she refused. The young lady from repair service stated that she could send the bag to California where they can examine it.

On the way home, I decided to stop at another LV not expecting much but to my surprise the manager took the time to inspect the bag, noticed it, I showed her the same thing which was on a new one in the store, she took pics and got back to me within 3 days. I exchanged it for one that is free of this peeling flakiness mess.

I hope it works out for you and they let you exchange it for a new one.

That is disgusting behavior. I'm so sorry you had to deal with such vile people...

I'm glad you were able to get a replacement. Hopefully it doesn't start to peel.

Thank you. I hope it doesn't peel either! I'm hopeful that it won't because the others had minor peeling on the corners but mine did not. The manager and I examined the bag thoroughly. I'll keep my fingers crossed.😊

Well that's a good start! I think you might have dodged the peeling with your replacement ;)

Which store was it that you had better service? Btw I didn't know you were so close to me! The Westchester store in White Plains has a nice manager, in case if you are ever in the area. I have a love-hate relationship with NYC stores, it can be a hit or miss. I usually go to Macys at Herald Square and have found the service to be decent. Saks also has nice staff.

I think I may have dodged the peeling issue as well. I think it would probably be safe to purchase a monogram canvas bag if there is no peeling at all to begin with. The manager seemed to think the peeling was from the canvas being too dry
There were only 2 totally bags when I was there. One had peeling and the other was a display without peeling. I had the choice of returning the next day when more would arrive but I chose the display which is in perfect condition. The other was taken off the floor.

We are close! I finally received great service from Macy's at Herald Square and I almost didn't go there. I thought LVMH on 57th would be most familiar with the issue but they were the worst. I agree that it could be hit or miss depending on who you speak with. I imagine Saks would have been a good choice but I didn't think of it at the time.

Thanks again for your help. You're very knowledgeable with LV. Please let me if you ever need assistance. 😊
