Are there any David Yurman fans here?

I bought the prasiolite and diamond cerise cable ring (in the round shape, not square) and I ended up returning it. The gem lost its luster fast and the diamonds didn't sparkle like my other diamond rings. But I have been lusting after the X ring with the sterling silver cable band over a pave diamond one. I tried it on and it was instant  However, I felt it had the same problem as the other DY Cerise ring in that the diamonds didn't sparkle a lot, so I'm still on the fence about it.

I like the designs. What I would not personally buy are the silver pieces with very precious stones - diamonds, etc. I just think those are better reserved for very fine jewelry set in gold or platinum.
He does some 18k gold stuff with pave that I love.

I like his items; however, it bothers me that a person can buy them on sale. To me, a piece of designer jewelry should never be discounted. If I was to buy his items, I would only buy them in discount stores or outlets. Somehow, IMHO, buying designer jewelry at discount cheapens the item to me. I rather buy a used piece of Tiffany and Co then a new piece of David Yurman at an outlet.

We in NY were fortunate enough to have David Yurman friends & family sales where items were up to 80% off (with an additional 10%). I have a nice little collection of pieces from that sale.

If there is a specific piece you love, go for it.

AntiqueShopper-I can understand your opinion. I feel the same way about designer bags which is why I only buy LV.

For some reason, I don't feel the same way about the jewelry. I guess because I feel like it is more valuable anyways compared to bags, if I get a discount on it, then so much the better!

I think that David Yurman is classic and never really goes out of style. I have about 12 pieces - bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings. I haven't bought any for a while because I'm so happy with what I have now. I find that I don't wear the earrings much, but my necklaces and 4 cable bracelets are my go-to pieces. I wear them in different pairings almost every day.

To me, whether it's silver or not doesn't factor into why I find it so attractive.

Maybe Yurman is like a lot of collection designers: it's an acquired taste and the more that you see it the more that you love it! :D

Like gold-silver prices are at an all time high. That being said I love David Yurman pieces. There is also gold in his line. I have 2 pieces, a cable 7mm cuff in ss with 14kt gold accents and blue topaz. I also have a black onyx ss ring with diamonds. It seems to be high quality but like with any designer you're paying more for the name. I've noticed that my DY jewelry has to be cleaned too often. For that reason I don't do much ss
