Anyone ever purchase at farfetch.com?

^^Thank you! This is great to know because next month I will be ordering at least 2pair of shoes from them. BTW, what is the turn around time to receive your package?? Just wondering.

And to the poster who said that you will be hit with fees!! That is very true. The shoes that I want are listed at $606.00 but after custom fees it ended up being $724.00! But oh, well I still want them....
Hello, I work for farfetch.com and the reason that US customers often have to pay the extra import duty is because they are buying from European boutiques within the farfetch

Well, I have now ordered twice from Farfetch and interestingly enough, once I paid tax at the door and once I did not. I have no idea how that works and why I got lucky that one time.

Anyway, I'm pleased with my purchases and will buy again!

Oh, and something I should warn some of you about - I bought Bal shoes each time and each time the colour was way off on the monitor. I understand that monitors can be different, but in this case the colour was not even close. If anyone know Bal shoes, I thought maybe the colour of the shoes I was purchasing was Outreimer. The shoes looked really bright blue on the screen.

Then I received them and they were Cyclade (the name was on the box) and that's a very different colour than the computer image and much more turquoise.

In any case, I didn't really care. Same thing with my second pair that was not really grey... but I liked the real colour better than the grey I thought I was getting, so that was fine. :D

I just purchased some YSL pumps from farfetch and they just emailed me asking me to send a copy of my driver's license and credit card via email or fax. This seems a little fishy to me b/c I've been shopping online for 5 years and have never been asked to do this. Has anyone else had to do this? I wish I had read their reviews before I made the purchase. I'll just hope for the best....
I didn't have to do that. I wouldn't do that! I used Paypal and it went very smoothly.

If you read the first few pages of this thread you will see that another member was asked for the same thing as well. They just want to be safe, the company is legit.

I take back what I said about no extra fees that one time with DHL. I paid one time at the door and was told with my second delivery that there would be no additional fees.

Well, I just received the invoice for those fees in the mail. They have a processing fee included in that too. Oh well...

I bought a pair of Ksubi boots from Farfetch at the end of January this year. After wearing them only a handful of times the soles are splitting away from the upper. I contacted Farfetch (via their web-site as they don't have a phone number) and was asked (by email the following day) to send photos of the defect which I did. Then nothing...I have sent numerous reminder emails and also messages via their web site but they are not responding. I have today had no option but to do as Trading Standards have advised, i.e. post a recorded delivery letter to them advising that I will commence action in the Small Claims Court in 7 days if they continue to ignore me.

Clearly I am extremely disappointed by Farfetch's customer service, or complete lack of it, and expect much better. This was the first time I have used Farfetch and will certainly not be doing so again. I normally shop on-line with Luisaviaroma.com and have found their customer service to be exceptional, not to mention their free (unlike Farfetch) delivery. I once had a query about a leather jacket I had bought from Luisa and received a phone call from Italy the following day followed by an email with further information I didn't even expect. Can't speak highly enough of Luisaviaroma and won't be tempted to shop elsewhere again in a hurry! Oh and if you're ever lucky enough to be in Florence, their shop is just amazing.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend shopping at Farfetch based on my experience.

I ordered a bag from Farfetch *late* Monday night and it arrived at my door at 8am this morning. According to the tracking, it was in Germany yesterday! :faint:

Super fast fulfillment & shipping!! I highly recommend this site.

That's DHL you're impressed with - not necessarily Farfetch.

Just curious - how was your bag wrapped? My items never came wrapped, just thrown in huge shipping cartons to rattle around in.

I didn't care, since what I bought was on sale and I was happy to get everything -- I was just surprised that the Paris Boutique (that the items came from) didn't bother to wrap anything.

I guess you're right, but technically farftech.com could have taken a week to ship out, KWIM? I'm impressed with the entire transaction TBH.

I purchased a $2k bag to be quite honest, and it was wrapped extremely nicely. Very secure, lots of packaging "fluff." :p

I wonder if the discrepancies between our two experiences have to do with the actual boutique, or...? This is my first time ordering with farfetch.com. :thinkin:

Mini rant:

I will say it again. farfetch.com will never get another dime from me! There customer
service is the worst! I can deal with the extra fees but the lack of communication in
regards to my order is a different story. There is NO excuse for this company not to
have a customer service phone number for their customers! I mean after all these
are high-end accessories...i.e. shoes & handbags.

I'm sure you're right - the boutiques I purchased from were in Paris (!!) and they didn't wrap at all - and the thing is, I was expecting nice wrapping because everything was coming from Paris. I thought the wrapping would be very beautiful and very french.

I will be ordering from Farfetch again, so I'll probably get nice wrapping next time. Unless I buy from Paris again. :D
