Anyone ever purchase at farfetch.com?

I will not buy anything from Farfetch anymore. I bought a Stella McCartney bag on the website, and they send me a bag with several terrible scratches. The bag looks like it has been used for at least a month. I immediately printed out the return label, and wait DHL staff to pick it up. I was not thinking about taking pictures of that bag because I just wanted to return it as soon as possible.


However, I received an email that the boutique was not accept my return because of those scratches. I asked the customer services that do they check the item`s condition when they send the item to customers, and they say no. I have no idea that how Farfetch choose their suppliers and are those boutiques reliable or not.
I still waiting for responses from Farfetch, and I hope I can get money back.
By the way, take pictures when you return a reject.

Farfetch is not a boutique, it is an intermediary that links you to independent boutiques. So it depends on what specific boutique you want to purchase the dress from.



I got my Givenchy Antigona from them about a year ago and have no complaints. Prompt shipping and I think the packaging was quite nice too. But I'm situated in the EU; if you're based outside of the EU then you might want to do some additional research on possible postal/customs issues that might arise.

I want to start this by saying I have had nothing but positive experiences with Farfetch however this particular boutique should no longer be under the Farfetch group or at least should be on 'probation' and closely monitored by Farfetch for a period of time to ensure this doesn't happen again. Shame on them!

I'm happy you finally received your money back but what a fiasco that you were innocently drawn into and then forced to resolve in order to be refunded! :hugs: it was not just a mistake but a major international fraud IMHO from what we saw of the package delivered to you, a scam that attempted to make you it's victim. A mess you then spent precious time, energy, angst and personal resources to resolve in order to just receive a refund for the initial item they never sent. I would be fuming!!:censor:

So sorry you had such a nightmare with the boutique but I honestly would open another thread under the boutique name entitled 'My experience with Boutique xxxxxxxxx' because I think others here should know what they are up against if they deal with that boutique. It wasn't just a rude employee, bad customer service or a misdirected package but a scam (see photo of package delivered from boutique) the boutique initialized and had no desire to fix until they realized you weren't just going to take the loss and go away! Thankfully there was someone beyond the boutique that stepped in to help remedy the situation that this boutique created. Honestly, I can't think of anything I desire strongly enough to purchase from them and receive the sort of negative, horrific experience that you received. I believe everyone at tPF expects a smooth, pleasant retail transaction especially for high end, high dollar items.

I just ordered my first thing from Farfetch, from a boutique called Stefania Mode in Italy. it was heavily discounted. At first it was half price and then latergone down another $100 so I bought the bag today. I hope it's not some seconds....oh well, it seems like there is a lot of problems with returns and poor packaging, according to the posts on this thread. I guess it is difficult for farfetch to gurantee that their partner boutique will package nicely and treat each order with care....

finger crossed, I hope my bag arrived packed well, as it was a good deal and I really really want it ....

I still buy from farfetch as I always find items I dont find elsewhere but am disappointed that some people think it is ok to steal an item and replace it with another one and then pretend farfetch is a terrible website with awful customer service.. Some need to get their facts right!!

I dont quite get what you sre adking? Or why, nobody would say that they had committed a crime, would they? I have not heard that farfetch is a bad site due to them sending the "wrong" items? Farfetch is a website that consists of many many stores, it is not just one and they act as the middle man.

I actually heard from a farfetch store that one of her customers did that. Not farfetch or the store sent the wrong item but the actually customer on the receiving end sent back a different item pretending she had never opened the parcel in the first place... This is a real shame! I love far fetch and find it sad that some people abuse their service!

But that could happen to any online store, a buyer switching items I mean.

I don't really believe the story since the buyer must have sent back an item she had that the store also had at that moment and with security tags on. Not very plausible IMO.

Yep could happen to any online store but a as farfetch is a different platform which acts only as intermediate this is more likely to happen. Buyer can always blame it on the store as there are so many of them and farfetch doesn't physically see the packed parcel.
Unfortunately it is a true story. I won't go into details but I have seen the proof as I live near this store and friendly with the team. Let's just say it wa an item where you could slide the security tag on and off and it was replaced by something totally random and brand less and packed into the the actual box the original item was sent it ( which is branded by the brand of the item )... Quite sad!
I'm just stating this as I know air of people are wary of farfetch thinking there is no real control of the independent retailers. What they do not know is that everything is checked meticulously but oh well...

On a nicer note I'm thinking of ordering some valentino butterfly camo pants but they are quite steep so not sure if I'll bite the bullet but I love them!

Has anyone ordered anything from smets? I'm eyeing some Charlotte Olympias..

Well, so long as you pay via paypal you are protected as a buyer should you get a different item so no need to fear buying from farfetch!

I ordered from Biondini. On 26may. It was shipped 27may and I got it 29may. Paris to Maryland, usa.

Last week I ordered two pieces of clothing from the same boutique through farfetch.
Three days after placing the order the items had already arrived (shipping from Italy to Germany).

The boutique was Biffi (Milan). The items were wrapped in paper, then packed in plastic bags. Everything was new with tags still on.

So no complaints from me. :smile1:
 
I ordered from them before, everything was fine. I just ordered something on Sunday night and now it's an additional 20% off, you think they'd honor it? I shot them an email. Just waiting for a response now. I checked and my size in the item is still available. Anyone have any experience with this?
