The 'snootiques' don't make sense to me. If I worked at Hermes and someone came staggering into my store with a platinum Visa screaming, "I wanna Birkin now!" I'd be trying to help her! Most businesses want to sell product and make money, versus, "You DARE ask for a Birkin??!!!!" I don't understand the big deal about Birkins; they seem like too much work to get into and out of for me, and I'd be dropping them and spilling my junk all over the place--but to go to a 'snootique' and ask for a Birkin is like you just confessed to being a serial killer.

Yeah, I've read those posts, and envy them. I wish I could have a good experience in an official H store, but all I can honestly do is confirm the horror stories. Maybe those nice SAs are lunching or napping or hiding out when I've been in a boutique. Maybe I look like I can't afford a Birkin, so why bother treating me like something besides an intestinal tumor. I've heard you have to cultivate a long-term relationship with a SA, but it's hard to sweet-talk anybody into marriage when you can't physically frequent the store wearing your chinchilla and diamonds. So thank heaven there's at least one independent retailer out there who'll take some time for the unwashed.

I've ordered my new Plume from Cuffs!!!!!!! It's going to be a 32cm Plume in Gold buffalo skipple and gold hardware with white stitching. Can't wait till it gets here! Everybody congratulate me!

So far I'm pretty computer-illiterate and can't use the digital camera. In fact, the only camera I've ever been able to use is an old old Canon Snappy 20 I got back when I was in high school. Maybe by the time my Plume comes in, I'll be less of a dodo!

Bumping this up because I'm going to be in Cleveland on business in a few weeks. Yikes, this makes the 3 H store I will be visiting in 2 months! Any other info on this store, including developing phone relationships (I visit Cleveland around 1-2X a month, so maybe this may not be necessary), scarf/shawl stock, waitlists, etc.? Thanks!

^^ OK, I called Cuffs to check on a shawl I've been wanting. Lyon is SO incredibly sweet! When I asked her if she had the shawl in a particular colorway, she took the time to check her inventory and then told me that she had it, but in a colorway that (1) I didn't know about and (2) is even better than the one I had asked for! She's sending photos later today.

I couldn't get over how sweet and helpful she was over the phone to a complete stranger. I can't wait to meet her in person in a few weeks!

Cookiejar, you should call the store. They are very pleasant and helpful. The store is very small but charming. As for Bs and Ks, it is like any other store. But yes, they do place orders and have Bs and Ks.

thank you so much. i actually went to the store a few weeks ago. i purchased a lot of other stuff. but no birkins and kellys at all in store. no that kind of walkin and get luck. People there are nice and helpful. i just wonder if people really get Bs and Ks after spending so much money on nom-B, non-K stuff.
