Posh, I imagine that there would be ALOT of people in SoCal with LV. I don't really have that problem yet living in "cow-country" North TX. I fear that this may change soon. SO far the LV I see (other my real one of course) are obvious fakes. Do you see a whole lot of Chanel where you live as well?

^ Loads of Chanel but not as much as LV. It seems like everyone carries LV these days.

Unfortunately, a lot of people (not everyone) in Southern California try to look more important or affluent than they actually are so they buy fake Chanel, LV, Gucci, Prada, etc. because they can't afford the real stuff. Because of that it looses the reason I carry my bags. I don't want a bag that just anyone can own (goodness, that sounds snobby-sorry), but I just don't. I want exclusivity.

I have a vision in my head of what I want my next bag to be but I haven't yet found it! It's rectangular in shape, 7" shoulder strap (fits over coat), black luscious lambskin leather, suede lining and beautiful golden brass hardware. And the greatest part of all... can be gotten for around $600. Now, if anyone finds it LET ME KNOW!!

hi, dolls! I'm new to this thread, I guess mine would be Gucci, I walked it into DSW (Union Square) today, and (gasped!!!) saw Gucci, Gucci, Gucci everywhere (right where the entrance door is) Gucci messengers, Gucci hobos, Gucci totes!!!! but i compared it with my Gucci Jolicoeur, the external & internal material is way inferior, I'd say I got upset & left the store without even looking at the shoes (my purpose). Their tags would say buy it for $500 instead of $900 retail, I was so tempted to take pictures but there were sales people everywhere, so I just left!!!! The reason why I carry a Gucci, because it's a Gucci!!! I have the Jolicoeur, Sukey (large) with matching wallet, 2 waist bags (sigh!!!), I guess I'll bury them back in the closet!!!

I fell out of love with Gucci years ago because two bags I bought in a row broke within a year. The second was fixable, and is with my mom right now, but I just don't understand why a bag that is so expensive would break so quickly!

Belen Echandia. I've been ogling the bags for awhile now, but I don't think I'll ever take the plunge. If I ever purchase a BE bag, it'd probably be through ebay/Bonanzle only... And that's still a pretty big "if" too, I think.

Fell out of love (or like) with Rebecca Minkoff awhile ago due to CS/QC issues too.

COACH
I was never a *huge* fan... I only have 2 Coach bags (actually a great white leather summery bag) and I also have a wristlet & a great leather wallet. Where I live ... literally EVERY SINGLE person has one. I much rather carry my other designer bags.

ITA with PoshPepper! When I first joined the forum...I am in LVoe with LV! My collection grew and grew but now I find that every second girl has a LV...mostly real but I just didn't like the fact that there were so many around! I am mostly into their Limited Edition bags but I noticed that over the past 2 years...their LE bags are becoming increasingly common! I have moved onto Chanel now but I still have a hard time letting go of some of my old LV's...I love H but since i'm still quite young...H will have to wait a few years! ;)

I'm so glad to see I'm not alone in saying LV. Beautiful, meticulous craftsmanship, but it's played out. Their designs bore me to tears and I'm perpetually amazed by how many people will drop that kind of money for a canvas bag.

This is a fascinating thread...now I know where some of the folks that I used to see in the RM and BE subforums are now! :lawl:

(And now they know where I am).

It's great to see you all, regardless. :smile1:

I am now officially out of love with Belen Echandia, even though I still have two bags from the line (a Love Me that was my first BE purchase and that I won't sell at all, and a Love Me Midi that I adore). I also have one bespoke bag from waaaay back still coming to me but frankly I am not excited to receive it. I will most likely sell it at a significant loss or gift it at this point. Kind of sad. But this doesn't necessarily mean that I won't come back to BE, it just seems kind of blah for me at the moment, though I would still love to own a set of leather BE bedsheets. (That smell....:tender:)

Like I posted some time ago, I fell back in love with RM after a hiatus. I absolutely loved her pre-fall/fall lines this year, and in particular like some of the newer styles along with some of the classics.

After an extended fling and 4-5 bags, I am out of love with Balenciaga anything, even though I still dig the moto look, and particularly the Day. The QC on the Agneau bags that I had was shockingly non-existent, although I would take a Rouille 06 Day anytime!!!

I used to love Longchamp, could always find something I lusted for. Now, for some reason I'm just not feeling the designs - it feels too mainstream now. A bit blah. I still adore the Longchamp bags I own, but I can't really see myself buying any more in the foreseeable future.

You don't sound snobby, I understand what you mean, if I saw lot's of ppl with my bags then I'd be tempted to stop carryng them for a while or sell them to get something different. :smile1:
