Anti-Coach snobs...ugh

Yep there're small groups of snobs that hangs out together in certain Coach threads and would not hesitate to gang-attack fellow Coachies, then hide behind the statement, "This is a public forum so be prepared for different opinions." The statement itself is true, but was used a lot to justify flat-out rudeness and insensitivity.

Huh, never really noticed that.

You know what I DID notice though, was the TPF personas that show up every time certain people get dissenting opinions posted. What a coinkydink! I must be imagining things.

Back to Anti-Coach Snobbery... yeah, I don't play that. Carry whatever you want to carry. Very few people here recognize the Coach brand, and even fewer of those could tell most of my bags are Coach. I don't really get any looks one way or the other and I'm fine with that.

I hadn't really noticed it on this particular Coach forum either. Generally everyone here is sweet and non-judgemental. Coach is Coach and we all share that addiction, lol. It was elsewhere on the net. Personally, I will carry whatever makes me happy. I'm not going to carry bags that I don't like just for status. My peeve is mostly that people even judge each other on such shallow things as material possession and make rude generalized assumptions based off of what purse one carries.

Hi everyone. I think there are many reasons for wanting/not wanting to buy Coach. About 15 yrs ago I dreamed of owning one and it's actually the first present my DH gave me and I really treasured that bag. I began buying other brands basically because I look at it as an investment and when I went to sell my bags I would get very little when reselling. Another issue was the bad experience I had with them honoring their warranty several times so I sold them all or gave them away.

I still have one really cool coach bag that I love and she shares a closet with YSL, Chanel, LV, Proenza, Fendi, Gucci, Chloe etc. Out of all the bags I have I would never buy Gucci again. There are several brands that I no longer like but don't look down at it, it's simply not my taste - ya know.

Enjoy your bags girls, spoil them and give them a fabulous life and let the coach haters hate...;)

All of this!

Back to the subject of Anti-Coach Snobbery, I'm immune to it coz I know nothing about premium brands and certainly can't tell the fake from the authentic. If I do run into someone looking at me and my Coach bag weird, I would probably guess she is PMSing, as it would not occurred to me to check out what bag she's carrying.

Interesting. So now when someone has a different opinion on a subject, it makes them a snob or rude or insenstive? I thought it meant they were having discussion or a conversation..

I must have missed the memo that told me I wasn't allowed to have my own opinion. SMDH.

ETA: I buy what I like and can afford. I have a mixture off MFF and FP bags and i love them all. thats what counts more than anything else. I don't look down on anyone else for buying a Target bag, or a Coach Siggy bag or any other brand. And I also don't worry about what others think about what I carry.

I agree with you 100% ^^^

Buy and carry what you love and the rest works itself out. No one has time for judgemental people who need to get a different hobby, lol.

I am not what I wear, carry, drive, or the people that I hang out with. Maybe 30 years ago my feelings would have been hurt if someone didn't like or looked down on any of any of these things but now....It would be just somebody else's opinion--nothing more.

I am my thoughts, ideas, emotions, feelings, and yes, my opinions also.

As someone who buys LV as well as other brands. I don't think that I am wasting money. I buy what I like regardless of the brand.

Agree agree! I don't look down on anyone because of the handbag they are carrying. If they want to carry a hermes or a walmart bag then to each his own. I buy what I like and what I can afford. :smile1: I too have LV and coach and MK all sharing the shelf in my closet and love them all and do not feel any of them are a waste.

LOL most are sweet yes, but not all. One would come twist others' words and the rest would jump in, and take discussions off track. Sorry OP I will stop posting in this thread and hopefully they'll follow me elsewhere.

Seems to me that this comment and your previous comment are a bit off track to the topic of coach snobbery....:smile1:

Just saying.....
