Anti-Coach snobs...ugh

Hmm. Looking town at LV is just as bad as looking down at Coach or *insert brand*. I would never look down at anyone because of their handbag. Other people can carry a plastic bag for all I care. And, I would never judge someone because of the brand or style of handbag they carry. It's all so superficial. I have a passion and love for handbags but I would not expect that to carry over to other people. I spend money on LV because I love the quality and look of LV. I spend money on Coach because I love the quality and look of Coach. But, not for one moment have I ever felt that I am better than someone who buys only Coach. And, insinuating that those who collect LVs are snobs is pretty offensive and superficial.

They must think since they spend more on their bags than we do on Coach that they're better than we are."

Coach was my first love, and it will always have a warm spot in my heart, even if I'm one day able to own any and every LV, Chanel, Gucci, etc I want! I have zero patience for people who would treat me like trash because my bag doesn't cost $1k+.

+1. We are all sisters in our love for bags here and we all like different brands for different reasons. Many think we are crazy to spend the money we do on Coach bags, so we should be respectful of everyone's choices regardless of their perceived motivation.

If you love it, buy it and enjoy it whether it is LV, Coach or Chanel. Honestly, people that get into the "whose better because of the bag they buy" need to evaluate why they are buying a bag to begin with.

Don't assume that all LV is canvas just because the canvas is most popular :-) Coach was my first designer bag nearly 20 years ago. I was a Coach collector for years but I certainly would stand up for Louis Vuitton products any day because the quality of Coach for the past 10 years has FAILED significantly. From a business standpoint, Coach has failed so bad to maintain quality that companies like Michael Kors are committing retail slaughter against them. Years ago, you used to have the option to send Coach products back for repairs. Nowadays, it is a mission to get anything repaired by them. Last I heard, they were only repairing the high end leather items which were not purchased at coach outlet. I remember the days when the Coach outlets did not exist! Quality of the coach product was so much better. The only coach items that I ended up keeping are the ones from back then. The only new products by coach that I purchase are the scarfs. I'm not sure what their repair protocol is anymore because I have sold almost all of my coach products. However, I am acquaintances with somebody who works in Coach mid-level management so I do know some of the inside scoop. Have a lot of competition with much better products.

They recently changed their repair policy to items less than a year old. Before that, the repair policy covered anything, whether from FP or the outlet, for manufacturing defects, not normal wear and tear. I had a backpack I bought at the outlet repaired by Coach.

From what I've read on the other forums, many high end designers aren't any better when it comes to quality control and repairs. Many are made in China these days. The law allows them to put a "Made in France" label on a bag as long as the final step is done in France, even if the majority of the work is done in China.

The change of the repair policy and the return policy are two things that have made me less loyal to Coach. I used to feel more comfortable buying Coach over any other brand because of the security of knowing that I could return at any time if I changed my mind, and that if anything went wrong, Coach would stand behind their product and make it right. Even items I bought on sale were returnable and repairable. Still compared to other brands in the same price range Coach is better IMO, as everything I've bought at Kate Spade and Michael Kors were final sale because they were discounted.

Indeed. I think you'll find many, many women here who have purchased from multiple other brands, including LV. As a result, taking a swipe at LV customers invariably takes a swipe at many of the regular *Coach* posters as well. I have long purchased Coach products, never sold any, love and try to use them all. I have also long purchased LV products, never sold any, love and try to use them all. And I'm certainly not alone. :flowers: You're right, LVCoffeeAddict. Taking a swipe at one is no better than taking a swipe at the other. And generalizations are never your friend.

Okay, since someone deemed it necessary to drag up a months old thread and use my statement as a quote, then I deem it necessary to point something out. I was talking about LV buyers / collectors that are STRICTLY LV people. And from past reading at various forums, blogs, etc. the worse Coach bashers were the buyers of LV only.

The title of this thread is Anti Coach snobs.....People who are exclusive LV users are some of the worse Coach haters, like it or not. By now, it may be exclusive Chanel users, but in the months before this thread it was LV.

And if you would have actually put some thought into it, you would have realized that that was the group I was referring to. How could I be talking about someone who loves BOTH Coach and LV? They would NOT be the ones bashing Coach.

Respond if you want, but I've said all that needed saying. Points have been clarified, end of discussion on my part.

Prada makes some of their bags in China now. In fact, they use the same manufacturer as Coach.
