Anti-Coach snobs...ugh

I have a little of this and that...Coach, Bal, Chanel, Hermès, Rebecca Minkoff, LV...where I live, I would probably get more attention for my Coach, because most people don't know what the other stuff is (and I don't carry heavily logoed items, minus my Neverfull that I used for school). I like that, because I don't generally like getting attention for certain things, especially when it involves how much things cost. I think that is embarrassing. I have taught a few people about RM because of the similar price points to Coach, and it's always nice when one of my incognito pieces get noticed for what it is (and not how much it may have cost).
I think for some people it's about presenting some kind of image about how much you can afford.
I feel fortunate I can buy things in general. A lot of people can only dream about having a Coach bag at outlet prices.
For me, it is about the art ❤️ I feel very blessed.

From a fiscal standpoint, Coach is the only company in the sector to accept returns indefinitely and be held accountable for their product, which also holds the value of the item. Other high-end luxury companies, which you would think want to stand by the quality of their product, have the same or worse return policy than Radio Shack. :smile1:

I loved Coach and wanted one sooo bad in HS. Got one when I was 17 :) I went away from the brand from 18/19 for LV. While I was buying LV, I will admit that I had the "ew, I can't buy a COACH" mentality. However, just recently, I started to come back! Their leather bags are beautiful, and the price is right! Lol now I love all bags. From Coach, to MK, to LV, Prada and Chanel! 😀

So I was poking around the internet looking at random purse blogs and forums ( I know, I'm such a purse dork) and cannot believe how many women with LV bags, Hermes, etc actually look down on women who carry Coach bags. It's a little upsetting honestly to have a brand you love be reduced down to something carried by "ratchets and wannabes". Really? If you love a brand or even just one bag, what should it matter if its $10, $100, $1000 or whatever? I have a friend who could easily trade her bag collection ( she has at least one of each Premier brand bag) for a house and doesn't act like that. Has anyone else ever encountered that kind of snobbish bigotry?

Yes. As someone who owns both premier bags and Coach, when I talk to my friends who love premier designer bags or when I go to the premier forums, there is a definite snobbery towards Coach.

I buy Coach because for the price point, the value is good. (usually. there are exceptions of course) I can buy a lot of styles and colors for the same price of the only one or two premier bags a year I purchase.

I don't sweat what others say about Coach because I don't get my self esteem from a brand.

Totally agree, I know lots of people they bought varities of Coach purses, and the money they spend on the Coach collections are way more than a LV or even a Hermes.
Personally, I would like spend my money on different Coach purses rather than one Coated Canvas LV, I think it is boring design, and I will be bored if I wear one or two purses all year along...besides, it is already be carried by too many people..

I took a look at a lot (too many) of this bozo's other tweets. He is forever pontificating, pretending to be the purveyor of all great wisdom, and his attitude on just about everything is sexist and revolting. I feel even better to be a Coachie, knowing he objects.

I am a little confused about his point. I guess it's because I am not aware how people perceive BMW hatchbacks. Is it a low end BMW?

Very well put! :)

Life is too precious to judge people based on the handbag they are carrying. I'm just trying to "live my life" and not be "about THAT life"................
Amen.

Listen, I have a handbag fetish, you have a handbag fetish...all of us here have a handbag fetish. This is just a fun thing. Whichever fashion items you use have nothing to do with your character, the way you live your life, the kindness you extend to others...A personal choice of accessories is a pretty insignificant matter in the general scheme of things.

I love the GSElevator feed on twitter! I also don't think it's one person's opinions, I think that many people email in their crazy "overheard in the elevator..." stories & that whoever is behind it posts the most outrageous ones

And as to the point of this thread...in an equal opportunity purse carrier and love all my purses, no matter where it came from or who manufactured it. If I like it, that's what matters! Everyone has their opinions but I'm not going to let anyone's ugly attitude change how I feel about my beautiful bag ❤️

I kind of heart you right now.

I haven't witnessed this. Most of the girls around me don't actually own really LV. I've always liked Coach since it's a quality designer for a reasonable price vs. LV or Hermes etc.

I don't see the big deal. I have a bag from Target, I have Coach. Who cares? If you like the bag, that's all that matters.

I can't believe people would really try to flaunt their money like that.

But, I guess any product or any brand will have elitists.
