Opinions on this creed? Have you ever seen them mix up the digit order on an H factory creed?

Like I mentioned before, the G and H plants always give me the impression of being part-time plants and it's possible they were even located in places which are part of the US but where English isn't the main language, like Puerto Rico (Coach apparently had a plant there as early as the late 80s or early 90s) and the non-English-speaking plants were the ones most likely to have made that kind of mistake.

Thanks.

Is A5B ever a valid month/year/plant code? I was looking at a dark brown Willis today with the serial number A5B-9927, with the overstamped lines above. Since A5B-3906 is on the fake list, I really wasn't sure.:confused1:

Yes A5B has been used on authentic bags. Some overstamping marks are fine, but overstamping that just looks like a bunch of straight lines isn't. The overstamping marks should be the bottoms or tops on the numbers that would be next on the stamper.

The first letter can be any letter in the alphabet up to M, although anything with an I is suspect.

Thanks Whateve! Overall, I thought the bag was okay, and the overstamping did look like part of the next stamp. It did have some wear on the corners-like the color had worn away. How do the chocolatey brown bags rehab? Thanks again!

You're welcome. Chocolate brown bags rehab great. I love my chocolate plaza court!

Did they ever make Sonomas in a cornflower or periwinkle blue?

They made Periwinkle in the Natural Grain for about a year but not in all styles. I think it was available in Spring & Summer 1997 for both Sonomas and Sohos, that's when nickle or silver color hardware first became available with some Soho colors.

Thanks. I've seen it in Sohos. I wasn't looking at Sonomas much until recently when I discovered I love their soft pebbly goodness.

Someone please help me Authenticate these bags!

Someone please help me Authenticate these bags!

Welcome to tPF!
The first one is genuine, we need a photo of the creed patch and serial number in the second one.

In the future please post authenticity questions about specific bags or other items in the Authenticate This Coach thread. The kind of information we need is posted in Post number One, but please go to the last page to post your questions. Thanks!

Were plastic or non-metal zippers ever used on authentic all leather bags? I looked at a Willis yesterday that had a plastic zipper on the interior pocket. It was made in either 1998 or 1999. I wish now I'd written the full number down, but it wasn't on the naughty list.

Yes, Coach used plastic (actually nylon) zippers in many bags starting in the late 1980s. They still do.

Check the "Authenticity Guide Facts & Myths" guide in the set of six Salearea Coach Guides.

"THE NO PLASTIC ZIPPERS RULE
Nonsense! Plastic zippers were used in many bags from at least as early as the 80s and 90s. Most were used on the inside pockets especially in the Lightweights line, but the early 1990s Sheridans and probably Dakotas used them on the outside too. There were plenty of cases where Coach wanted to either reduce the weight of the hardware or color-match the zipper to the leather or lining colors. And modern Coaches still use plenty of plastic zippers..."
