Hey! A couple years back I got a coach labeled bag at a stall in the airport.... It was stupid I know :(.. But it resurfaced again after cleaning out my closet for college! I was using it one day and my cousin said that she thinks it's legit.. She has many coach purses, but I want a second opinion! :P

The serial code is (No K0651-10630) I looked it up and came out empty. :/ It's a YKK zipper, the tag matches the bag.
The leather is real and it's held up very well! To be honest though I have NO idea if its a fake or not.. :S

It is authentic. It is a Gallery Tote. There are some legitimate Coach stores at some airports. The style number is 10630, the numbers after the dash. If you were going to look it up, that is what you would look for. The other part of the number is just date and factory codes.

Really? Wow... Mine was $30ish with tax, the booth seemed pretty shady but I guess it was just the guy behind it sucking on a hot dog :P! Thank you so much for the help!! :)

You're welcome. Really? A real Coach bag should have cost more than that. Maybe the guy was selling stolen goods.

Most fobs on ebay are authentic. The safest ones to buy are those that are currently available in stores. If a bunch of sellers all have the same fob, they probably bought it at the outlet and most likely, those are safe to buy. You can look in the fob clubhouse and in the reference library to see what the fobs are supposed to look like. Most fobs sold at Coach stores and factory stores don't come with tags because the stores remove them before they get displayed, so having a tag doesn't make a fob more likely to be authentic. Fobs bought from FOS seem to come with the tags. Very few fobs come with boxes except those sold at department stores, like the Legacy penguin, and it is very likely that it could be authentic and just put into the wrong box. I have also gotten fobs with fur in boxes. My theory is that those kinds are shipped in boxes to keep the fur from being smashed.

The fobs that are most likely faked are the breast cancer ones and the rare older ones. You should always get these authenticated.

The keychain situation has been greatly cleaned up in the last 4 years or so. There was a time that over 50% of listings for Coach key fobs were for fakes, but several of us have been reporting them. At this time, I report between 1 and 2 dozen fakes per day, which is greatly reduced from years past.

I should have added that a large percentage of the fakes are either styles that Coach doesn't make or in colors that Coach never made.

Still 2 dozen fakes a day is a lot!

I know I read where the older coach purse did not have a number, now I can't find that thread, but I remember it said, New York, I have one that says Made in the United States (no mention of New York). Is this telling me it's a fake? It is leather. thanks

thank you, I'm learning more and more. I have 4 different Coach bags and one wallet and I still have no clue if they are real or not (purchased all of them used for a good price). I will keep reading and learning, thanks again!!!

No, that doesn't mean it's fake. Coach has used dozens of different style creeds over the years.

The only way to know if your bag is real or fake is to post photos at the Authenticate This Coach thread. Please use the format requested in post number One of that thread.
