AMANDA BYNES BUSSED TO COURT FREEDOM ON THE LINE
EXCLUSIVE

Amanda Bynes will be in court Friday --TMZ has learned -- and we're told she will mount a ferocious fight for her freedom.

Sources involved in the case tell TMZ ... Amanda will be transported from the psychiatric hospital -- where she's been staying against her will for the last 2 weeks -- to a courthouse where her parents will be asking a judge for a temporary conservatorship.

We're told Amanda will be transported by a hospital vehicle and accompanied by her lawyer. The only snag would be if Amanda goes off the rails before the hearing.

Sources tell us Amanda will be speaking with the judge -- possibly in chambers -- so he can get a read on her mental competency.

If the parents prevail, the temporary conservatorship will last until Sept. 30, when a full-blown conservatorship hearing will take place. If the parents get their way, Amanda will go back to the psych ward for further treatment.

If Amanda prevails, she will walk out of the courthouse a free woman.

We'll be there, so stay tuned.

Amanda Bynes Doctors Get Emergency Extended Hold She's 'Gravely Disabled'

Amanda Bynes has just been placed on an extended, 30-day psychiatric hold ... and the people responsible for making that happen were not her parents -- they were her doctors ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us ... doctors at the psychiatric hospital where Amanda has been held for the last 2 weeks determined she was not well enough to leave the hospital to attend today's hearing -- where her parents are trying to win a temporary conservatorship.

We're told doctors went to a judge who traveled to the hospital to conduct an emergency hearing. The judge granted the doctors' request, and extended Amanda's psych hold for 30 days.

According to the law, doctors can only get such an order if the patient is "gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder."

Amanda's parents will still pursue the temporary conservatorship, we've learned, because it will stay in effect until Sept. 30th. And the conservatorship would allow her parents to control Amanda's finances.

I also just saw that her parents were granted a temp conservatorship. I pray that Amanda begins to get better. This has been so sad to watch.

It's a shame it took this long to take it seriously. I'll admit that I, for one, thought she was just acting out. It would've been nice if those close to her would've caught it sooner.

This poor girl. She must be extremely ill for a court to go to these lengths to keep her in hospital.

I imagine she must be terrified... and she has probably felt terrified for some time now... schizophrenia is an extremely stressful and frightening disease to have. So sad!!

I feel sadden for her...to see her in this state she is in...I never knew she had a mental illness throughout her life. I thought she was simply acting out...I hope she will heal through and hope her acting career will bounce back someday...

It seems Amanda suffered a psychotic break. Do we know what the diagnosis is? There is medication, good and effective medication, such as neuroleptics, but many have serious side effects especially if taken long-term.

My best wishes go out to her, that she is properly diagnosed and receives the care she needs.

A former neighbor's son has schizophrenia, for example. He had olfactory hallucinations, he smelled only sh*t, wherever he went. Everything, everywhere, smelled like sh*t. His whole world stank of excrement.

My neighbor's son did so well in a small group home. But - in today's world social programs are the first to get the axe. Those who are truly in need are often left to their own devices with a box of pills. They are terribly vulnerable, and there are many predators out there who prey on them.

There are many forms of schizophrenia, if this is indeed what Amanda has. It's a crippling illness.

A good book to read is The Dinosaur Man by Susan Baur. Another is The Words to Say It, very disturbing, by Marie Cardinal.

Yup.

And I do think that Britney is relevant in the conversation - think twice before assuming everyone's a good parent, esp. those who are totally OK with their kid working long hours in seedy Hollywood (like Amanda). There is a reason why she cut them off. Is it really that big of a coincidence that a lot of former child stars end up with mental disorders? IMO most of the young stars come from broken homes and their parents more or less sell their children for money/fame. Take the Hayden P. rumors as another example.

What Hayden P rumours?

I hope Amanda continues to get the help that she needs. She had gone way out of control, hopefully this is the start of her recovery.

The Hayden P rumours are that she's a call girl, lets her boyfriends hit her and likes it etc. pretty crazy stuff. I still don't think the Hayden P rumors are true though.

The story is posted in her thread. The rumor is that she's a prostitute who's been subjected to abuse from her parents. It's quite a detailed rumor so if you're curious, read her thread cause I don't remember all the deets. A lot of actresses, even the top ones, are escorts for the wealthy (refer to Zhang Ziyi's case). But Hayden's been one since she was extremely young. There were photos of her hanging out with Paris Hilton at the clubs when she was around 13 or 14 years. weird.
