I doubt that. I believe Amanda is genuinely sick and everything that happened
was well publicized because of the twitter age.

I agree with this, I think it is all legit. I really hope she gets the help she needs. I'd love to see her make a comeback.

Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon. There's talk about him being a pedophile and doing stuff to child actors. there was also a rumor that he got amanda bynes pregnant and paid for an abortion. Noone will do or say anything because of the $$$ the shows he makes brings in, parents turn a blind eye because of $$$. Just google him..it's disgusting.

Yes, there have been a lot of blind items about Dan Schneider at Nick, and how nobody will do anything about it because of $$$. There's even speculation he was the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' baby. If it is true, he is a real dirtbag and so are the people who know and won't do anything. Really sad.

Well I think it's good to take most news in this subforum with a grain of salt... But in this case, I don't really doubt Amanda's illness. I do doubt the "leaks" about how she's doing in psych ward.

I do too. You would think people would care too much about being sued/losing their job... not to mention taking their job seriously, that things wouldn't leak so easily.

Amanda Bynes has been transferred to the UCLA Medical Center for further treatment of her mental illness ... TMZ has learned.

Amanda was shielded by a blanket as she was taken Thursday from the psychiatric facility in Ventura County to UCLA. We're told her mom -- who is now Amanda's temporary conservator -- wanted the actress admitted to UCLA because it has one of the best psych facilities in the nation.

Our sources say Amanda would have been transferred earlier but a bed wasn't available until Thursday.

As TMZ first reported ... we're told Amanda has shown clear signs of schizophrenia ... but doctors continue to perform tests to evaluate her condition.

Ugh that photo breaks my heart. Poor girl cant even get treatment in a psych ward without having her photo taken. I wish the paps could just leave her alone with the picture taking right now.

That's easy - the answer is money.

Imagine you're a regular hospital employee struggling to make ends meet, and TMZ or some other outfit offers you $5K for 1 grainy cell phone photo or a leak of some info, promising of course nobody will ever find out it was you. I'm certainly not excusing it, but I can see how easily it happens.

You make a good point. I can see how "somebody" leaks "something", which then takes on a life of its own as it's dragged through websites, tabloids, you name it.

Amanda Bynes needs long-term hospitalization for at least a year, her doctors say.

Physicians at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center will submit a recommendation to the judge overseeing her mother Lynn’s bid for conservatorship, stating Bynes needs prolonged treatment and should remain in her mother's care, Radar Online reported.

“Her diagnosis is complex, and the appropriate drug cocktail to treat her hasn’t been achieved...Lynn needs to be granted permanent conservatorship because Amanda wouldn’t agree to continue with treatment, ” an insider told the gossip site.

Bynes’ mother won a temporary conservatorship over her 27-year-old daughter and her $3.5 million estate on August 9. The outcome of a September 30 hearing determines whether the bid will be made permanent.

The former Nickelodeon star had been showing erratic behavior for months leading up to the conservatorship. She was finally committed to a psychiatric hospital in early August after she set fire to a stranger’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Doctors are treating Bynes with schizophrenia though she has not been formally diagnosed with the mental illness, reports Radar Online.

“She has her good days and bad days, and the goal is obviously to get her therapeutic and stable before being released. Given time and the correct treatment and medicine, Amanda could and should absolutely be able to live with it and be a productive member of society,” an insider told the site.

“In fact, she wouldn’t likely suffer from symptoms of it if she stays on her medication.”
