I agree, I think they see her as a money train and don't want the $$$$ to stop coming in. If they really cared for her, there would have been no tours, no music, no X-Factor. Just let her live in peace and raise her boys in Louisiana out of the public eye. How much money do they need? If it was invested properly, I'm sure there was more than enough for her to live on.

I think it's a good sign that Amanda's parents want no money. Hopefully she will get the help she so desperately needs.

Yep, a lot of threads tend to do that. Totally frustrating.

I'm happy to hear she's agreed to stay in treatment. It would be a shame for her to be out on her own again being as unstable as she is. No way she could or would keep up with her meds, which she desperately needs right now. It'll take a while for the psychotropic meds to take effect, so the longer they can keep her there and dispense them to her, the better! (obviously)

If i had a child who was worth millions and had a mental illness and was acting irrationally and irresponsible, i would want a conservatorship too. You don't want your child to blow all their life savings because they're not in their right mind and then once they're 'better', they'll be broke. Isn't the only reason she has so much money right now is because her parents managed it well for her? That seems really responsible of them, not shady. If they wanted it for themselves, i'm sure they would've tried to take as much of it at the time, not save it all away for her future.

Yup.

And I do think that Britney is relevant in the conversation - think twice before assuming everyone's a good parent, esp. those who are totally OK with their kid working long hours in seedy Hollywood (like Amanda). There is a reason why she cut them off. Is it really that big of a coincidence that a lot of former child stars end up with mental disorders? IMO most of the young stars come from broken homes and their parents more or less sell their children for money/fame. Take the Hayden P. rumors as another example.

Maybe she cut them off because she's schizo and making
irrational decisions..she's proven that publicly.

I don't think bi polar and schizophrenia are caused by bad
parenting, unstable child life..etc. I'd be in a mental ward
if this were true. I think it's genetic.

I feel bad for her parents, especially because they're dealing with this in their 70's.
