Good on you mate! I fall into trap of bridge bag often myself.."wow, it's so pretty and soooo cheap!" and then it sit next to my good bag for a year or so before its sent away to someone else's closet! Live the moment! ( it's so catchy that we should have a billboard with this)

A billboard ya! And t shirts! NO MORE BRIDGE BAGS! Ha thanks for your support. :)

I have totally done this! In fact I bought a couple of bags and thought, "I will save these so I feel like I got something new." Now I don't really like them and wish I hadn't bought them. Too bad I've never used them. I'm trying to get better about actually using all of my bags.

O.k. As part of my "bag therapy" I got out my Twiggy today, and one of my Bal wallets and switched out of the MJ. . I was going to use my black Work out but I decided it was still sunny and warm and I wanted some color. However this decision was based on a style choice, not fear or guilt so I feel really good! Not only did I do that but I also put my two "bridge bags", bags that I use that are lower priced and I don't worry about, on eBay! Woot! I have made a resolution that I will not buy any more " bridge bags". This way I will only have my fabulous bags to carry, and I feel really good about that. I dug out my LePliage to use to put my bags in when it rains. I'm being pro-active! Now let's see how it goes. I'm going to live in the moment! Ya! Ssssccccaaarrrrreeeeeyyy though.

YAY for you!
I promise it will get easier to live in the moment.
In fact I bet you will find yourself having the time of your life.

My mom does this. She bought a LV Speedy years ago and probably only carried it about 10 times max. I've probably carried it more often than she has! She's also got a bunch of lower end designer bags that she hardly ever carries either. I don't think I've ever bought a bag that was "too nice" and thought I had to save it for anything. If I'm going to spend money on a bag, I make sure that I'll definitely use it enough to justify the price. Life is too short to save bags!

Most of my designer bags are brown/black so I'm not too fussy about throwing them around. I also have to Balenciaga City bags and, although one is white, I just find that they are really tough and aren't going to get damaged very easily. The only bag that I'm a bit more picky about using is my Chanel 2.55, partly because it's the most expensive bag I own, and also because it's just such a classy and beautiful thing that I'd hate to see it damaged.

Well I've been carrying my Rocco since my last post and I am really relaxing my anxiety. I am next going to take down my little Bal First and carry it. This is giving me more pause though. I tried really tried to carry my Bal City every day but it's so beautiful. I just didn't do it. Baby steps I guess!

Oh my! :o

I rotate my bags, but I don't carry my nicer expensive bags if I'm traveling or going somewhere that's not appropriate for it. I would never carry my designer bags to work (I work at a hospital). And I also have a MBMJ bag for everyday wear that's less expensive. But I would never buy a designer bag if I wasn't going to wear it. If I'm too scared, I just wouldn't buy it.
I found your answer to this post interesting Ninjanna. I work in a hospital too and I use my bags going to work other wise I would never use them. I make sure designer bag or not it gets locked up in my locker. Just wondered why. I hope I'm not offending here just curious.

I use my bags and have recently started to treat them with more respect then before. I don't have a L.V but I have what I like and can afford. I rotate them but their are still bags I don't use a lot. So I realize I need to thin out my collection and sell them I just need to figure out the best way to do it.:smile1:

I know I will have to switch out more often, too. It's only recently that I have become so purse "concious." What has been wrong with me all of these years??! I changed my purse out for seasons, or a special occasion, but for the most part I didn't switch them out much at all. What's really good about it is that it gives your purses a break instead of wearing them and wearing them until they look a mess.

I don't think your crazy. I think by rotating them you will enjoy them more. I try to rotate my bags often. The only ones that don't see the light of day that often are my mono lv. I really like them but with the economy the way it is there are to many places I would get mugged while wearing them. I tend to wear them when my Dh is with me or if I am going some where that a lot of people carry them.

I have a locker too, but I wouldn't put my designer bags in them, either. I just don't want to wear my designer bags with dirty scrubs after work, so I would like my bags to be clean. I'm not OCD, but I just want to protect my bag. The hospital can be pretty dirty so I don't really want to be carrying it into work. Plus I don't really want my workmates knowing that I spend my money on expensive things like that.

Mostly, it's just keeping the bag immaculate and clean. It's really my association with hospitals being dirty, lol.

Ninjanna that's so interesting you brought that up. I just asked if anyone sanitizes their handbag and if so how they do it so as not to effect the bags material . I don't have very high end bags(Coach,K.S) but I know what you mean about your workmates knowing what you spend . I have been thinking about that lately and that you bought it because it's a designer bag. Sad isn't it.

Dcooney4 it's sad we have to worry about our bags being taken. I had someone tell me about someone steeling their bag at the gym. It makes me scared to use my most recent purchase which is a K.S. Be safe out there.
