Yes, it's black...maybe the leather is too soft...I really don't know...It's is really very odd that the leather starts to wear off from rubbing against jeans or blazer...I am very careful with it, so maybe this bag is just for one season...

From both websites, I ordered black/brass Roccos. However, Elyse Walker sent me a black/black Rocco instead by mistake. But the bag was perfect - the leather was so soft and the pebbling was gorgeous. I thought I would return it since it wasn't the one I ordered, but decided to keep it because it was too nice! Plus, they gave me an additional 10% off because it wasn't the bag I ordered.

I received the other Rocco from Bluefly yesterday. I was actually pleased with Bluefly - they dispatched my bag the next day and it arrived in two business days. The bag itself was real, and it had the new AW card so I'm guessing it's from this season. But compared to the black/black Rocco that arrived from Elyse Walker, the quality was so bad! The leather was stiffer and the pebbling was nothing compared to the other rocco. I think it's a problem with recent Roccos. I decided to return it and sent it back yesterday.

I sent it back right away so I didn't take any pictures or anything, but I don't think the quality difference would show up on camera anyway. Hope this helped! :smile1:

i think i snagged the rocco you returned on bluefly! i had found this post the day i bought it (about a week ago...)

anyways, i love it but have to agree about the leather quality. it's not very nice :tdown: also i found that the handles felt funny...? they're very flimsy and feel really cheap. i own a trudy tote and its leather is SO unbelievably soft, and the handles are nice and strong. i know the constructions are completely different but it's the only comparison i have... can anyone jump in and help me out? :(

As far as Bluefly is concerned they have so many fakes and sub-par products over the years I would not be surprised if the AW bags they are selling were meant for the destroy pile or heck if some fakes even were slipped in as by now we know this is a standard business practice of theirs.

ALWAYS post your Bluefly bags in the "authenticate" thread for the experts to review before you remove the tags. Bluefly is a horrid company with the absolute worst reputation. I know they have great deals but I wouldn't order a bag from them if it was only a dollar. There are tons of threads on how awful they are if you run a search.

On that note I'm so sorry you received a dud from them and hopefully it won't take too long for your return to process.

Sounds like it's the same Rocco! Ugh can you believe Bluefly still hasn't refunded me yet? Oh, and I think I know what you mean by the handles - they made some kind of a squishy (?) sound when I held them?

I hope you enjoy having your Rocco! Your pics on the auth thread look really nice. I really wanted a black/brass Rocco and I'm kinda sad I gave up on that one! Oh well, maybe someday...

Last month, I returned two bags to Bluefly. One return was credited on the evening of the 10th business day (after they received the bag) and I had to file a PayPal claim to receive the other...their system showed that I had already been credited. Luckily, PayPal quickly resolved the issue and I was able to get a refund.

I have ordered 4 bags from Bluefly in the last 6 months and 3 of them had very noticeable flaws...like factory rejects.

@awholic - the pics look nice bc of my camera! heheh, it's definitely more photogenic than it feels :(

going to barneys today to compare the two in quality, since i don't have much experience w/ how the rocco should look and feel IRL. if it's too much of a difference it's getting sent back :(

Does anyone have the Rocco in Espresso? I wanted a black rocco with "cupcake" style silver studs, but couldn't find it anywhere, so I settled for Espresso.

On the ShopBop website it looks like a very dark brown, but on the Saks website, it seems like a very very very dark grey.

Does anyone know which site is usually more accurate? Or perhaps someone's seen it in person. Thanks in advance!

i saw the bag at barneys a few days ago... it definitely looked more like a really dark gray to me, so i'd say the saks picture looks more accurate. i thought it was another black rocco at first glance but the sa informed me that it was their newest in espresso :smile1:

I have my bag for 6 months now and look what happened to the leather on the sides! It wears off, and you can see the white plastic!! does anyone else have the same problem?
I love this bag, but this is so disappointing.....

Did you ever go to Barney's to compare the quality? I'd be interested to know what you thought - if there was any difference at all! :smile1:

i went to neimans at KOP instead - HUGE difference in the handles. the handles on the one at neimans were completely sturdy/hard (like a LV Speedy) whereas the one I got from bluefly are... mushy, flimsy, SQUEAKY, etc.

the piping of the bag is also pretty squeaky which i thought to be weird/unnatural.

the overall leather quality of the bags were the same... but the handles really bothered me... felt like they'd been extremely broken in over years and years!

sadly this rocco will have to be returned... =( i'll be holding out til i find one at a great deal. it's not worth having, even at a discounted price, if it's a defective bag :tdown:

p.s, did you ever end up getting your return credit from bluefly?? hoping this return process won't take forever...
