Hi ladies! I'm fairly new to this forum.. and I need your advice.. Black Rocco or Mustard Rocco?? I already have many black clothes and a couple of black bags.. so it would match with more, but the Mustard is such a standout! Anyone?:smile1:

Hello! I just received my Rocco w/Rose Gold HW today (from Barney's) in the mail and a little disappointed in the "bubbly-ness" of the leather. In some areas the leather is not at all pebbled. For those of you that have the newer Rocco's (w/Rose Gold) are they also like this? I just want to know if the leather varies. In comparison to my original Coco (Antique Gold HW from 09') the pebbled leather is completely different. Please let me know your thoughts :)

Did you get it black? How do you like the distressing of the bag? Any insight you might have on a black rocco would me much appreciated! I just got my Rocco w/ rose gold in latte, and I have to say that I'm really disappointed in the bag, especially with how 'used' the bag looks. One side of the bag seems more distressed than the other, and just like you said the pebble effect is not consistent all over the bag.

Also, (and I have a Alexander Wang Lia bag in Latte that has this same issue), did you notice that because of how the inside zipper is designed, that it doesn't actually fully zip closed? You're left with like a 1/2 inch gap, so you can't actually fully zip the inside pocket shut. And the worst part is, I literally just got the bag today, but I can already see areas around the zipper closure where the rose gold is wearing off, so needless to say, I'll be sending the bag back. It's such a shame because I'm absolutely in love with the style of this bag and the rosegold coloring! I'm going to try and find myself a black rocco and hope that I have better luck with the distressing and pebbling effect. I guess the rocco is just really one of those bags that you should see in person before purchasing. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but I hope this helps answer your question!

Just my two cents, but I would personally go for the black - it will be easier to match and wear. Besides, even without a more striking color, this bag will definitely stand out!

Yes, I did get the bag in black. I would not say that the bag that I received looks "used", the distressing is very minimal. However, the pebbling is almost non existent in areas of the bag. I will upload a photo for your reference (sorry for the iphone quality).

Would you say that all the new Rocco's have less pebbling?? I am trying to determine if I should just order the Black with Antique Gold HW that is available now. Or will the leather be the same?

Regarding the inside zipper, mine has the same issue. I will also upload a photo of this (again iphone quality). Lastly, the Rose Gold does not appear to be peeling off.

Thank you for the info and pictures! As far as the pebbling, my new AW Lia bag didn't have this issue(it's actually much more textured than the Rocco I recieved), so perhaps it is an issue with the Rocco's specifically? Hopefully a member with a older bag can be of more assistance. I have heard that there's been a noticable difference in quality with the newer bags, so I think that may be what we're experiencing. For your bag(which is gorgeous btw), did you have to put yourself on a waiting list with Barney's?

^^hmm, i just got my black rocco with gold hw from shopbop last week, and my inside pocket zipper zips closed completely (see attached pic). the inside zipper pocket should not leave a 1/2 inch gap! i also have one of the early roccos (2009 grey with silver hw) and that inside zipper zips closed too.

seems like this is a problem with some of the current batch of roccos? disappointing to hear that you both have this problem! if it were me, i would exchange or return it.

as for the bubbliness of the leather, mine is pretty bubbly overall, except the 2 long vertical pieces right under the handle - those pieces smoother on one side, but i realize the leather pieces will vary from bag to bag.

the one thing i did notice about my 2011 black rocco that's different from my 2009 grey rocco is that the 2011 handles seem shorter? i put them side-by-side, and my 2009 grey rocco handles seem longer (can't figure out if they've stretched over time or if they're actually longer). can anyone confirm this is definitely the case?

@Kogo27- I did not have to put my name on a wait list :) I think I happened to just call Barney's at the right time looking for one. When I called last week one was available in Chicago and i quickly bought it.

@BHmommy- Would you be able to take pictures of the leather of your new Rocco from ShopBop? I would love to compare it to mine for reference.

I think black, I have a mustard rocco and I just can't "love" the colour, it can look a bit sickly to me in some lights. Buy the one you love the most... that's what I wish I did in the first place :) I've finally found a 2009 black rocco and i'm just soo excited haha! :)
