Oh I see. I will keep that in mind. Thank you so much. You helped more than you know. :smile1:

If you really want the rosegold hardware, i'd recommend that you pick one up preloved in the because the older versions of the small marions come with a hook and eye closure which doesn't show the scratched as much on the outside of the bag since the hook and eye closure is on the inside of the bag ;)

Is anyone here from the UK and has tried the Handbag Clinic before? I just purchased a black rockie with rose gold hardware and it's my first proper designer bag so I'm really paranoid of ruining it. It rains a lot here so I just wanna make sure I choose the right products to take care of it :)
Any suggestions are more than welcome x

I had always carried Coach bags...and several years ago I decided to splurge and purchased my first AW Rocco. It was black...and like you, I was terrified of using it and ruining it. I sent it off to Lovin My Bags for water and stain proofing. I believe that it cost around $65-75 at the time. I never had an issue. Since then I have purchased several more AW bags...all black. I haven't treated a single one of them and have never had an issue either. Honestly, I feel pretty safe with the black...you made a good choice. I have treated other brands (lighter colors) and prefer to use Collonil or Apple Rain & Stain.

I would recommend using Collonil spray. I have never had a problem with it marking the hardware but I wouldn't go overboard on it.

*I am not recommending these sellers...just showing you the product:

Anyone have an AW bag in "peroxide" (white)? I just got my peroxide Rocco with iridescent studs (luckily stumbled upon the last one in stock on stylebop) and I want to know if anyone has any recommendations for what kind of leather protectant to use to prevent dye transfer from my clothes. Any tips would be appreciated! :)

Also, if you have an AW bag in peroxide, how has it held up for you so far? Any issues keeping it clean in general?

Hello there--

I purchased a Soft Leather Rocco in PEROXIDE with Pale Gold, GORGEOUS but still on the fence on this one, not sure how I'm going to keep it clean-- how's yours holding up? Did anyone respond to your question?

Hi! I didn't get any response, but I found a couple of people who purchased the same bag that I described and sent them private messages. One of them told me she uses Collonil Classic Water Stop + UV Protection spray, and the other told me she didn't use any protectant -- she just carries the bag infrequently.

I actually ended up returning my bag shortly after buying it because I was too paranoid about carrying around a white bag. I wear dark jeans all the time, and I'm one of those people who stresses about the slightest blemish on my bags, so I knew I wouldn't get much enjoyment out of that bag. My new personal rule is to never spend more than a couple hundred dollars on a white bag (which I have yet to buy!)

Hi everyone!
Need some advice. The edges of my Daria are so worn out. Maybe someone knew how to recover the edges?
Thanks in advance!

I bought a very dirty laster cut velvet leather Diego in the color "parchment" (off white color) - anyone have any experience cleaning this type of leather? Any recommendations? I took it to one place and the guy said he couldn't do anything with it (even brushing it with a suede brush made it a little more hairy). TIA

Hey!

I recently impulse bought a gorgeous blush pink mini Rockie with rose gold hardware. However, being mostly a dark bag owner, I am pretty nervous about denim transfer/scuffing/other issues.

Before I wear it out, I would appreciate recommendations on what to do to preserve my new baby's leather and color!

Hello there! I hope someone can help me out. I just invested in my first Rocco (black with antique brass studs and on sale from Farfetch yay!) and I've only had it about a couple weeks, but after using it for probably a total of 4 or 5 times I've started to notice the inner handles already showing a bit of ware. I'm guessing a mixture of sweat from the crook of my arm rubbed onto the leather and made it look a bit old and worn if that makes sense.

After googling a couple things I found myself here on this thread and realized I probably should have done some care even before I used it for the first time :(. I pretty much searched through this whole thread but not a lot of talk about the handles. I did see someone say they used the For Handles Only by Lovin My Bags, but is there another (cheaper) option? I'm totally new to this whole luxury bag business. I also realized I probably want to do some weather proofing just in case as well.

Is there anyone who can tell me their process of caring for a Rocco and if there is anything I could do right now to care for those handles? So far the things I've seen people use from this thread are Apple conditioner, the Lovin My Bags (is there a specific product from them you guys use?), and the Edgekote (is this strictly for the edges though?).

Any information about this will be appreciated! Thanks!

^^
Usually when my black AW bags get worn the area looks a little faded. Is that what you are experiencing?

I have sent several bags to LMB for services but have never used their products...so I can't comment about the 'For Handles Only'. I have used Apple Conditioner and Blackrock Leather 'N' Rich conditioner on my black Roccos and have never had a problem. I also condition the handles. I have always felt that dry handles are more prone to absorbing sweat, lotions, etc. :shrugs:

Apple Conditioner: I normally squeeze a small amount on a clean rag and work it into the leather. It is IMPORTANT to buff the bag very well afterwards...especially pebbled leather. The product works itself into the pebbles and will turn white if too much is left behind. I lost a RM bag to this...lesson learned. Some have mentioned that this product feels greasy but I never noticed it.

Blackrock Leather 'N' Rich conditioner: I put a very small amount on my fingers and work it into the leather. Don't apply too heavy...you can always do it again if it needs it. I normally condition one side of the bag and then buff it really well with a clean rag...then repeat with the other side. This normally leaves the bag feeling a little sticky/tacky for just a bit but it will go away.

Don't be surprised if you see a little color coming off when you buff. A little bit is okay.
Make sure that you purchase conditioner and not cleaner.

I use Collonil WaterStop to prevent rain stain but don't normally treat my black bags. I would apply this after the conditioner has had a chance to dry.

I know that this sounds like a lot but it's worth it. It's really a one time expense since these conditioners and sprays go a long way.

Search the other forums and see what people recommend for lamb. I wouldn't recommend Leather Honey...but that's just my opinion.

*Don't put Fiebing's Edgekote on the handles. Edgekote is a heavy sealant. A lot of people used it to treat the older Roccos that don't have the improved piping.
