UPDATE:

I got this message from Ebay. Hmm, seems like Ebay says I need to let the dispute sit and marinate for 7 days. They said:

"We have put the claim on-hold to give more time for you to resolve this
with the seller first since we need to fill the 7-day grace period
before we can make the final decision for you."

Yes, unfortunately, I was not able to attach pictures to the ebay dispute messages. I just didn't know how to? :shrugs: All I was able to do is say "I am happy to provide proof of pictures to show the condition of the bag. The pictures reveal the tear and it's other poor conditions".

What to do now? I guess I sit and wait until the 7 day grace period is up, and wait for Ebay to step in, right?

Please stay tuned...

I guess so, make sure you check back in after the 7 day period to be sure they've done so and call if you need to. How long has it been? Rather than upload pics I placed links in my description area of the claim of the pictures on Photobucket - whether they wanted them or not! :smile1: And yes, when you give the link to share the pictures (use the link photobucket gives you) it should share only what you allow, I've checked to be sure someone can't get into the rest of my album and they could not.

Re: inserting photobucket links, how do I do that?

Do you copy and paste the link for each individual picture? Or is there a link to the entire album where they can look at all the pictures?

Also, in my photobucket, there appear to be four links that say:
Email&IM
Direct Link
HTML code
IMG code

Do you know which I should prove to ebay?

Sorry for my ignorance.

Thank you though!

Create an Album & name it.. In this case, use the ebay listing #.
Upload photos to that album. The, when you go back to that album, in the upper left you will see SHARE THIS ALBUM and right below that a URL link to that album. Copy/Paste that link. Make sure that the album is PUBLIC, not private.

UPDATE:

With your help (Thanks, Ellie Mae.) I was able to figure out how to get the link for photobucket. Unfortunately, because the ebay dispute was "elevate" it didn't let me add any more responses or the link.

Instead, I replied to the ebay customer service email I received, stating that the dispute needs to sit for a full 7 days before Ebay steps in. I polite stated, that I understand I need to wait 7 days, I just wanted to provide a link to the photo evidence relating to the dispute, and then I provided the Item number and the Dispute number.

ON THE OTHER FRONT, the seller has contacted me again through her personal email account. Seller writes:

"I am only replying to you directly because there isn't any way for me to communicate throught the complaint, and I didn't get any emails through ebay from you. (I will check my junk mail folder to see if maybe something went there). I will be sure to include the personal emails when I forward everything to ebay when they contact me.
After reading everything, I think you misunderstood me. I would refund the whole amount, but I wanted to subtract the $20 I spent on shipping because I thought that was fair.
I still do feel the bag is in good condition, not great or excellent or perfect, but good. I understand now that you wanted it to better than good. It is normal wear, I didn't beat it up, I actually was very careful with it, but if you feel the wear is excessive, that is the manufacturers fault.
I will try to get you your refund as soon as possible, but as I said before, I don't have much money right now so it will take some time."

Honestly, tpfers, her emails now scare me. And I just want to leave it to Ebay to help me work it out after the 7 days is up.

Am I obligated to respond to her? If so, what should I say? Based on her past actions, I simply don't trust the idea that she will give the money back without Ebay "overseeing" it all.

Do you think it's okay if I wait 7 days til Ebay intervenes? It won't negatively effect my chances of winning the dispute, will it?

Again, I'm sorry that you have to be vicariously dealing with this hassle of a messup/headache with me! But I am SO GRATEFUL for ALL your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Well PP will put a hold on her account and she will have to refund you if she wants to use her PP account. Do NOT close the dispute, no matter what the seller asks you to do until you have the refund and it has CLEARED through your account.
I would keep communicating only through ebay or the dispute console, not by private email. You need to have a record for PP/ebay of what is being said.

absolutely.. communicate thru ebay/pp only as you will have

it in writing via e-mail

keep the communication via PP/ebay and don't return anything to her until you are in the clear.
when you do please get signature confirmation so you can proof to ebay/PP that the bag was delivered and signed for.
all the best tuxedosam (do you watch "sailor moon" by any chance?:p)

Thanks mmmsc, this is great advice, I will keep it in mind! With this seller's track record, it seems like she'd ask me to close the dispute before actually she gave me a refund.

Hi Pukasonqo, sorry no I don't watch Sailor Moon. Tuxedosam is my name because it was a childhood stuffed animal that my parents bought for me when I was a child. I loved it so much and use to carry it around everywhere.

UPDATE:

I got received the below message from ebay.

"Thank you so much for providing eBay with those pictures. I have added
these to your case, and placed your case on hold for 10 days to allow
the seller to respond. If the seller does not respond after the 10 days,
we will have you send the item back for a refund.

Please be patient, and allow us the 10 days to get in touch with the
seller to see if they are willing to solve this issue for you.

It was my pleasure to assist you, and I appreciate you being a valued
member on eBay.

Sincerly,

Ryan "

So I was thinking that I should not respond to the seller's outside email messages, and instead I'll just respond to her messages that she chooses to send through ebay messages.

For the time being though, I was thinking of waiting for a response through Ebay, since they said they are going to try to contact her.

Like always, I'll definitely keep everyone posted! THANKS EVERYONE again!!!! :smile1:

(Hi hotshot, welcome to living vicariously through this ebay mess of a headache that I have going on. Thank you for your advice!)

You are under no obligation to respond to private emails, and you probably shouldn't, either, just to keep things kosher. I'm annoyed to find that Ebay is making you wait 7? 10? days to get it resolved... so much for the process being "faster!" Bleh!

Oh well. Hopefully it won't take that long, but until Ebay comes back with something, I'd leave it completely alone and not respond to anything but customer service. Good job on emailing them and getting a response, btw!

agree! don't bother w/ private emails.

i vote for negative feedback!! :death::btdh:
keep us posted Tux!!

Yes, schientist, I agree with you. Ebay dispute's response doesn't sound like they are going to be much faster than if I had done a Paypal dispute. But I'll sit here and wait patiently. Honestly, I'm just so happy that Ebay has that photobucket link with all the pics of the bag's poor condition as proof (I send them all all the photos that I posted here on the thread). One mini win. I hope! :peace:

Haha, thank you for your support, nyinstilettos. Welcome to the madness/headache of en Ebay situation we have here.

Yes, I promise to keep everyone updated. Please stay tuned!! :smile1:
