wow. i can't believe that i've never heard of this brand before. i've primarily been a louis vuitton girl for over 10 years, but i suspect 49 sq mi will be a new obsession for me.
So, which of the leather colors do you find to be less delicate? I have a couple turquoise bags and a pewter clingy-- both of which are pretty delicate.
Thanks!

OH! I'm so excited - just bought the Levine in Chestnut and this completes my handbag collection - I didn't see this on sale last week on the 49SM site, but it is now (how could I resist $199?) - the Levine will be perfect for me going out to local events like the Ren Fair and the State Fair. Yahoo! Spent some of my Microsoft 'retirement' check - LOL.

All the leathers they used on the artisan collection are extremely stable. Most of them have a texture to them almost a rough pebbling. Chestnut, earth, fog, eggplant. Italian Calf Skin.
The patents are not as stable as they would appear. They tend to get scuffed and are susceptible to color marks from bumping them against things especially plastic & other patents.
Lambskin- Black the most durable and shows the least amount of wear out of all the lambskins. Plum (old) & Black Plum (new) are both pretty great in the durability respect but both plums have a weak spot, sun fading so keep them in a dustbag when not in use. Ink is also pretty durable. All the grey colors are durable as long as they are protected (2 coats wilson's TLC) every 30 wears or so.
I hope that is helpful.
