OH! I'm so excited - just bought the Levine in Chestnut and this completes my handbag collection - I didn't see this on sale last week on the 49SM site, but it is now (how could I resist $199?) - the Levine will be perfect for me going out to local events like the Ren Fair and the State Fair. Yahoo! Spent some of my Microsoft 'retirement' check - LOL.

brandwhore - 49 Sq. Mi. has some items on sale - I can't tell if you are in the U.S., though, they only ship to the US. There's a "deals" thread here that you can keep on eye on: http://forum.purseblog.com/handbags-and-purses/49-square-miles-sq-mi-iso-thread-no-665475.html

Envy Boutique: http://www.shopenvyboutique.com/49squaremiles.html

Muse Ten has some bags on sale: http://www.museten.com/store/pc/showsearchresults.asp?IDBrand=35

If you do a search on Google, for instance, for "49 Sq. Mi." you might find others.

Thanks indiaink. I do have access to a US shipping address so that's not a concern for me.

Don't plan on supporting Envy Boutique but that's just based on a previous experience.

So, which of the leather colors do you find to be less delicate? I have a couple turquoise bags and a pewter clingy-- both of which are pretty delicate.

Thanks!

brandwhore, I'm really relatively new at purchasing 49 Sq. Mi. - but of the 'colors' I have now, I would say none of them are 'delicate'. I've got Dijon, Yves Klein Blue, Black, Hot Pink, Grass Green, Plum, Loganberry. All seem pretty sturdy to me.

Lulu is the pro, she should be around to answer your question eventually.

Oh, do tell about Envy Boutique!

All the leathers they used on the artisan collection are extremely stable. Most of them have a texture to them almost a rough pebbling. Chestnut, earth, fog, eggplant. Italian Calf Skin.

The patents are not as stable as they would appear. They tend to get scuffed and are susceptible to color marks from bumping them against things especially plastic & other patents.

Lambskin- Black the most durable and shows the least amount of wear out of all the lambskins. Plum (old) & Black Plum (new) are both pretty great in the durability respect but both plums have a weak spot, sun fading so keep them in a dustbag when not in use. Ink is also pretty durable. All the grey colors are durable as long as they are protected (2 coats wilson's TLC) every 30 wears or so.

I hope that is helpful.

Thanks everybody! I just ordered a clingy online a few minutes ago, and I hope it is as awesome as it looks in the pictures. I'm so used to the Vuitton canvas that I know most leather bags will feel heavy (I do have some non-LV as well) by comparison. Does anybody know the weight of a big mouth, or is there anybody with a big mouth and a postal scale that would be willing to check for me? I would be ever so grateful.

This is lovely...:smile1:

does the wilson's stuff help with color transfer? i've got some bags with light colored interiors that i don't want to mess up. i'm not concerned about the wear on the wallet (i actually like the worn in look), just the potential marking up of the bag interiors. thanks! :D
