I was just about to post.

I got up at 3.20am..aged 57..

I don’t feel or look much different ..
Already I had a pile of a dozen cards and some presents to open(more to come).

The highlight was one which my Father dropped in during the week signed from Dad, and Mum in her own writing with kisses which brought tears to my eyes..

I’m spending today at my parents, so it won’t be an easy day, then next Wednesday I’m buying cakes and having a tea party for some friends.

It doesn’t feel right to celebrate with my Mum dying, but my Dad asked me to go around today so I’ve bought him an artisanal cake(my Mum is on purée), and he was in a good mood despite her health when he visited.

I will update tomorrow once I’ve been.
I definitely don’t feel nearly 60.

I am absolutely exhausted, and am hosting a tea and cakes party on Wednesday as well.

I went to my parents’ yesterday -it couldn’t have turned out better.
My Mum had her best day in Ages, she was laughing, smiling, even talking (English!)- I chatted to her and she responded , not in gobbledygook for once..
She also ate a lot, without swallowing difficulties.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
I had lunch at my parents, and pizza in the evening with salted caramel ice cream.

I received a couple of dozen cards and several presents.
My parents’ present is to follow, as my Mum has been so poorly recently that my Dad has spent 200% of his time looking after her(and an awful lot of money).

Yes, Mum had the best day in Ages, it was amazing-I will never forget yesterday.

Here are some yellow carnations I received, in a vase my parents bought me on the rue St Honore 25 years ago, whilst I was living on it, meant to represent the pyramid in front of the Louvre, with a picture of me taken in Paris, also 25 years ago, in a Hilditch shirt.

I was wondering Sparks, with the talk of Christian Louboutin up-thread, if you've ever looked at his bags? They tend to be both structured and bedazzled/sparkly, which I think would work well for your collection. Not to enable you because I know you're being extremely selective (as you should), but the aesthetic would seem to fit your own so I figured I'd mention it. :)

ETA: I wasn't aware of the more creepy stuff he's said until I read these posts (and have not read further into this), so obviously dismiss if you'd rather not support the designer. I have several brands I won't touch because of their problematic directors.

I hope you had a lovely birthday!

I’ve glanced at CL bags but never seriously looked at them. My impression is that there were a lot of spikes and always some red on them (I could be completely wrong) and that didn’t appeal. I also have zero insight into the quality of the bags.

For fun, I’ll go peek at them and see if they are an option for me at some point. :smile:

But for the foreseeable future, I’m focused on decorating my home. I have a huge outdoor project going as well as decorating projects with my interior designer for my great room, and home theater. I’m very overwhelmed right now and trying to enjoy the ride. LOL!

Funny enough, my ID and I have gone from strangers to fast friends. We’ve even planned a girls trip to Paris for fun. You never know where friendship and happy will pop up. :lol: Her sparkly personality is keeping me sane with these home projects.

During the pandemic, I had my house renovated. Save for the kitchen which I totally remodeled, other parts of the house were just repaired/repainted. Looking back now, I should have asked a designer/architect to redesign my bedroom. I want built in cabinets/desks, and a way to expand my closet space. I am not sure I want to go through the hassle of having workers in the house again.

I hate having workers in the house which is why I’m stacking these projects on top of each other. Once I get some peace, I won’t want to be bothered again.
