I fully understand your frustration! But aren't all shop bought clothes only the base for perfect individual fit? Mass production can only give a general fit. Looking around I rarely see a piece that perfectly fits, I mean really perfectly for the person wearing it. In my opinion tailoring is the second step of shopping.
You say the top isn't cheap. Is it worth the price regarding fabric quality, design and craftmanship? If yes and you like it, I'd suggest to go for it and put in the work to make it perfectly yours.

I'd wanted MM's Tabi 8cm ankle boots for years but I always thought they'd be uncomfortable. I tried them on last year and was surprised and slightly annoyed they were so comfortable as I could have bought them years ago for less money. As I've said one pair of boots will be my only new wardrobe addition this Winter.

IRL the colour is a little darker. ( And they look used per design)
I had to replace my phone. The new one is heavily into vibrant colours...

I have bought a few pairs of MM shoes over time and loved most. One pair of ankle boots turned out to simply be too high heeled for comfort and was left behind.
The others are lower block heeled sparkly blue ankle boots and a pair of the crazy ankle boots that look like a pregnant whale ( sage green ostrich, very high but great)

I'd love to try tabis, but they are out of my price league.

Definitely feeling a slight chill in the air when the sun goes in. We are almost in September. I've added my two Gucci beige/ebony canvas Bostons (one is 32, the other 27) to my AW rotation because I'm thinking of starting with 'uniform' of DMs, bf jeans, blouse/shirt/tee and tailored jacket for non-client facing days. Depending on what I need to carry, if a couple of bags are neutral Bostons I don't have to worry about changing proportions or colours. Maybe switch to pencil skirts/ skirt suits and Gucci BTHs for days I have to be more formal.

I'd love to browse your wardrobe! It sounds like Alladin' s cave to me.

Summer definetely is almost gone here, too. I had to be out early this morning and wore my navy mens short all weather coat, but without the wool lining.

Those sage green ostrich boots are amazing!!!!

I find everything expensive. We've gone from a 2 wage household to just one for both, with the added expense that chronic illness brings and the budget is completely blown before the month begins.

Yes, I still have the ostrich ankle boots. They are too pretty and special to let go. I bought them in Paris from an Emmäus charity shop on the one day they did 50% off everything... They even gave me a great deal on top for buying a fur coat and a pair of D&G heels on top.

I totally agree that everything in the shops has become really expensive and even the second hand prices have gone up a lot.

I feel for you. And I admire you for adapting to the changes with positive energy ❤️
