Although I have a (small) shopping list for Fall/Winter for my closet, and as usual I’m so well planned that I have a list of pieces I want to buy next year(I know that most people can’t comprehend this!), I’m actually quite content with my closet right now.

I know that @papertiger always says that she has better in her closet than she sees in the boutiques and stores, I often have the problem that nothing fits-last week I bought a sleeveless pink satin blouse which had to be returned as it couldn’t be tailored.

I did have a clear out during the month and am often slightly too ruthless and then have regrets and miss the pieces I’ve donated, but once I’ve come to terms with that, my closet feels far more cohesive.

Yesterday I bought a pairs of white with black heels Alexander McQueen Sprint Runner sneakers for my vacation, anything else I will buy whilst I’m away, or when I return.

I prefer Fall/Winter clothes to summer clothing as I’m happiest in tailoring, otherwise in a biker jacket.

You are amazing! I couldn´t ever come up with real shopping lists for the upcoming season or even next year. But we definetely do shop differently. While you scan the new collections and will buy from the shops, I totally rely on the second hand market.

I usually have pictures in my head of what I would like, that´s it. It doesn´t mean it will be available, especially not specific items. I can only keep my eyes open and make sure to recognise potential. Often that leads to seemingly random purchases "for further reference". Luckily most of them fall into place with time.

Congrats on your new Sprint Runners. I think it's a great idea planning to shop on holiday, I think it's so much more fun and what you buy will make you remember the holiday.

It's hard to let go of things even though they're already gone. Trust your past self.

Shopping my own wardrobe: I'm ve finally started wearing my red Maison Margiela Replica 40 ies slingbacks.
They took a few wears and gel half soles to get comfortable to wear, but now are a fun grab and go choice that goes with practically any outfit.

They sound amazing! I think we need pictures :D :flowers:

I'd wanted MM's Tabi 8cm ankle boots for years but I always thought they'd be uncomfortable. I tried them on last year and was surprised and slightly annoyed they were so comfortable as I could have bought them years ago for less money. As I've said one pair of boots will be my only new wardrobe addition this Winter.

Three more bags are ready to go out tomorrow. Snake mini backpack, small textile tote with wooden handles and another I've already forgotten. That will make four this month.

I also found 2 more retro (1960s and 1950s) beaded evening bags I'd forgotten about. The gold and pink 1960s is on the chopping block.

Definitely feeling a slight chill in the air when the sun goes in. We are almost in September. I've added my two Gucci beige/ebony canvas Bostons (one is 32, the other 27) to my AW rotation because I'm thinking of starting with 'uniform' of DMs, bf jeans, blouse/shirt/tee and tailored jacket for non-client facing days. Depending on what I need to carry, if a couple of bags are neutral Bostons I don't have to worry about changing proportions or colours. Maybe switch to pencil skirts/ skirt suits and Gucci BTHs for days I have to be more formal.

I find that when I shop with pictures in my head of what I would like, I never find them and become disappointed. It's better for me to shop without expectations and hope I'll see something I like.

Right now I'm dithering over a top that wasn't perfect but I still feel I should have bought. If I hemmed it shorter, it would be perfect. I just don't like to have to put work into something that should have been perfect to begin with, considering that it is new and not super cheap.

Not amazing-maybe it’s the accountant in me planning and forecasting?!

I’ve been following the International Fashion Weeks since I was 15 or 16..

YOU are amazing seeing the potential in blank canvases-clothes which don’t fit, need altering or adapting etc and producing completely unique pieces to yourself!
I love your style, which is completely different from mine..❤️❤️❤️

Try it, if you feel it will be perfect hemmed..❤️

I cannot Begin to imagine how much you have, to be able to donate so many clothes and so many bags!

You are right about the change in the weather -I have been wearing my Saint Laurent denim jacket or a black leather biker jacket, or for dates a suit-goodbye shorts until next year!

That sounds perfect regarding your outfits. Congrats on getting more bags out.

You touched on something so important. We all have different styles and gifts. It’s important that we appreciate this in ourselves and others and celebrate our differences as well as our commonalities. I really enjoy hearing everyone’s insights. It prompts me to reflect and make thoughtful choices more often. I appreciate the people on this forum.
