African dress I bought when I had just come back here. It had a strange shape: xs in the top part, XL around the behind. I altered, but made it uncomfortably tight, even back then. Now I did the unevitable, admitting I have a back, a ribcage and shoulders and finally made it fit comfortably. ( So happy I didn't throw away the tiny scraps of leftover fabric after the first alteration.)

It fits! 70ies sundress I picked up at the charity shop without even looking twice. My fingertips told me: that's yours! It had been made smaller by a former owner. I only had to remove some tucks and darn the damage, because somebody obviously used the wrong machine needle. To cover the mending I mimicked the design with some little thread scribbling.

80 ies fast fashion sundress. It had pockets! This dress is a prime example that fast fashion has always existed. The fabric is a cotton blend. It does not seem to have any straight grain, though or was cut totally disregarding any so the fabric started warping in itself after laundry. I seem to be the first person to ever have washed it. The result is far from perfect, but all I could do. Wearing it is pure nostalgia. I clearly remember buying something similiar at the cheapest department store in town in my teens.

Something from a totally different league but at the same price point. And an example how seemingly random purchases click together. The shoes are the perfect fit for the dress.

Leonard Paris dress from the rag stall at the fleamarket. Spotted it from the corner of my eye, didn' t think twice and bought it in a 3 pieces for 5€ deal. The other two were a Hugo Boss white men's formal shirt - the type with the double cuffs - and some random t- shirt dress that makes a great nighty.)
At home it turned out to actually be my size. It only need laundry ( of course I disregarded the dry clean only) and some darning.
Yes, it now is visibly darned in places around the neckline, but who cares?
You look absolutely stunning in all of the pictures!❤️

Yesterday I went a joint birthday party with my boyfriend -unfortunately there are no pictures.
I had my hair up, wore an Alexander McQueen suit with light blue satin blouse, Tod’s shoes, and carried my black sequin bag.
We both had a very good time, he wanted to take a picture (and I wish he had), there was some dancing, not too much alcohol, delicious food, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Today Baryshnikov turns 5- he came from Russia and was advertised as “cute silver kitten”, now he’s elegant and boisterous, loving and energetic..a good balance to motherly Bianca.
Happy 5th Birthday Baryshnikov!

I love everything! And, you cam
Wear the lovely Bata collaboration shoes with jeans and the white shirt :)

You look great! ♥️

Green Spanish Python knee high boots @papertiger! I’m so excited just imagining how you will style them :D
Tried the green and black python shoes with jeans, a black and white striped longsleeve and a slim black Ralph Lauren alligator belt today. They look great with the simple outfit.
Unfortunately they had to stay put. I was invited to my DD' s birthday get together and hers is a "take off your shoes" household.

The dresses came out wonderful. Did you do all the art work behind you? Love it!

Sounds so fab. Next occasion you go to (or just tomorrow) you will have your perfect outfit

I'm on a staycation holiday :beach:

One more bag donated today, a black leather sporran-inspired leather bag. I must remember to include in my stats at the end of the month. Also, some fashion jewellery (when did I ever think I was boho? :confused1: ) paperbacks and old videos. It's amazing I am still finding stuff to donate.

I bought new frames for certificates. Even put away, I think they are better off behind glass. I went to four separate stores just to find standard A4 frames. It was like a children's adventure. The specialist art framers had the oddest assortment of leftover sizes and styles, sadly, cheap looking at inflated prices. The office supply store had one singe frame with a wide (scratched) silver frame and the craft supplies store had none even though they sell everything else. So I went to a store I hate because it's huge, claustrophobic and an non-signposted maze, but at least it had inexpensive, simple frames. I flagged down an employee to guide me to the tills and exit. I don't love them but they'll do the job.

I wore my Navy Emmy cross body and a Liberty Hera Feather print shopper (which used to be my mother's).

Well done! I donated two bags of stuff today too. One thing was a leather mens bag that I found while emptying the other house. I am not counting it as I knew that when I found it I was not keeping it. So never counted it in.

What a gorgeous kitty! I hope Baryshnikov had a wonderful birthday.

Thank you! My wall is a mixture of my own stuff, DS's from school, paitings by my Dad' s uncle, who was a real painter, pictures from my parents' household, art I was gifted or found on the curb or at the fleemarket and framed photos.
