I bet you'll love the bag Mr. Sparkle got. He has great taste.
I bet I will as well. It was actually a happy relief that the two Chanels didn’t tempt me. I’m to iffy right now on Chanel to add one to my collection.
Thank you! This is an example of being just as happy with a cheaper bag than with an expensive one.
Yay! Happiness can be found in so many places. And this is a great bag you’ve added.
I will hold that sentence in my head when I end my ban in April(if I haven’t broken it beforehand), so that there are no mistakes.
I’m sure your ban will serve you well until you are ready to buy AMAZING clothing for your closet. You deserve to hold out for the best.

Bags Out: 8 (6 sold through TRR, 1 FP, and 1 PM)

Bags In: 2, details below

BI 1: Miu Miu burgundy Madras Convertible Compartment Top Handle Bag

Reason purchased: work bag, this is a color I will use a lot, fits into my desired closet color scheme of black, grey, navy with burgundy and red being my main non-neutrals.

BI 2: Cartier Panthere Handbag

Reason purchased: temporarily scratches an itch for a Plume due to a similar-ish shape and I love the panther hardware.

I didn’t track as in depth my bag rotation, but I made some progress wearing a few bags that I was “saving” for whatever reason, mostly to work. Weekend, I usually end up using the same Longchamp.
Congratulations on your outs. Great colour on your Miu Miu. I love your Cartier bag!

Surprise, surprise! Even though I had no intentions of buying a bag, my lovely mother-in-law, gifted me a bag for the Lunar New Year.

A cute and casual bag. This contemporary brand is popular in Asia. Sort of a modern and edgy look which I don’t have in my collection.

And here’s a photo of the dogs during the New Year for fun lol.View attachment 6125469
Your dogs are adorable! Congratulations on the SLG and your Bao Bao!

This is my new Portland Leather Goods bag. (The Tiffany card case is there just for color comparison.) The color is amazing. It is instant love!
I wasn't really a fan of this brand for a long time because I thought they looked too unfinished. It smells heavenly.

What a gorgeous color. Wear it in good health. Keep up with the exercises. I was getting frustrated with mine, but the therapist said there will be go days and bad days but keep doing the exercises. I have been despite setbacks, and I do see progress just not as fast as I would like.

January Stats!

0 bags out
0 slgs in

2 sports bags out.

I have thrown out or donated mountains of stuff. I did rotate my bags quite a bit. Really like what I have now.
I read three books in January.

Love the last points! :ps:

:congrats: The colour is truly amazing. I love it has gold/brass minimal hw too.

Some people evaluate cost per wear. That isn’t important to me —> but I’m realizing happiness per dollar does.
Agree; I try not to wear anything unless it makes me thrilled and happy
There are always nice things. It has to be love and perfect fit.
💯

I only buy one or two bags a year in general. I make an exception for heimat atlantica bc it makes me smile (I met and have become friendly with the owner , but only after I bought a couple of bags — I was already a fan

ETA: unlike RTW, where I experiment, most of my bags are variations on the same styles. HA was a fun departure specifically bc they are colorful, artisanal, and rustic, which I find is a nice contrast to other parts of my wardrobe

Jewellery pieces went out yesterday. 9 accepted, 2 returned. Mostly scrap, or things that would have cost more money to repair.

To Lunch: Wore my red Gucci Aphrodite with brown matte leather mini skirt, black cashmere roll-neck, black sheerling-lined boots, vintage black military Aquascutum coat (almost maxi length) with brass buttons, cashmere, old Burberry check scarf and Cartier rings/Tank. I wear my rings every day but I haven't worn the watch for at least 10 years. Everything has to be used.

My friend wanted to go too TK Maxx (UK version of TJ). He really wants the black Smythson duffle the branch has but they've only reduced it fractionally.

While I was out my cat strained his leg. He is now under scrutiny, if he doesn't seem to be getting better by tomorrow I'll have to take him to the vet. I put up the heating just for him when I went out in the evening and he immediately went over to the heat source.

Haven't had a non-work related evening out for months and one of my NY resolutions was to YES and live while I'm still in the land of living. I felt a bit guilty leaving my cat but I had cancelled on this person twice already (which isn't like me - but you all know why). Went to a small venue to hear some bands play. The bands were all good which is pretty rare.

Evening: Wore the same as earlier but with a turquoise glazed-china necklace my father bought me, red leather gloves and an orange/red/natural wool hat and DMs.

I came home at 3am. My cat looks like he has a bit more mobility this morning....fingers crossed.

The sunset and the moon's appearance was amazing last night. Red is the colour!

You made me look them up. What lovely crafted bags, thanks for the recommendation. I'm not buying  - but I will love browsing later

Thank you! I have several of their straw bags and one of their straw totes. I love them all.

For others, here is the link (opening to a denim bag that I am considering for summer)

ETA: @papertiger , I hope your cat is okay and his leg is on the mend. I’m glad that you are getting out. Love the descriptions of your outfits, and am imagining you now with new lip color too  I am a late comer to classic UK Doc Martens (having started to wear them only a few years ago, and I am 57 now). But, I love them.

Thank you for your wishes for my poor fur-baby. I really hope he hasn't done any lasting damage. He's a lot more interested in his food today which tells me there may be less pain (or he's too hungry to care(?). I don't know whether to bother DH with the news.

I'm so pleased you are loving your Docs. They are great for everyday. I find they last about 3 years of constant wear before irreparably breaking. I like to have a pair 'waiting in the wings'. That's in addition to my Brittons which are more of a statement.

Quick update for now. January was a busy month. I moved and then quickly ended up in hospital with bronchitis (all better now). Just need to settle into the new space.

Been using the Coccinelle bag my siblings gifted me as a daily bag all month. Love how functional it is and haven't felt the need to use anything else. Will try to use others in Feb.

Was very tempted to buy myself a purple crossbody on sale but talked myself out of it because I knew I was just sad and wanted to self-soothe. I did a thing that I thought would be great but ended up being a personal disaster.
Over the years, people on here have mentioned that I can volunteer with support groups to share the story of my accident and resulting disfigurement, as it may provide an opportunity to uplift others in similar situations.
Well, I found a support group to join and arranged to go. It was a lovely, extremely diverse group, with a range of visible and invisible issues, which made for a really informative experience. However, I left the meeting broken.
We shared our stories in turn and then asked each other questions about life with our condition. People didn't ask me questions but they did comment on my experience and appearance. The group leader didn't really stop anyone from being mean, so once one person was cruel, everyone kind of followed.
One person said that if a car hit her, she hoped she would die on the spot rather than walk around with a face like mine. It's not the first time I've heard this, but it broke my heart all over again. Another person said she felt sorry for me because I'd never have a husband looking like that, which was rather condescending; and another just kept turning her face away from me and couldn't muster up even a quick glance. I felt like I disgusted her. It was all...disheartening.
I don't think I managed to bring anything of value to the group, but I left with a newfound knowledge about a lot of conditions that I was previously unaware of, and the hardships of life with said conditions. I'm grateful for that, though it's fair to say I won't ever partake in an activity like this one again. I'm too sensitive to not let it break me down.

On a heavier note, I have a friend who is dying from stage 4 cancer that has metastasized (estimated to have merely weeks left) and another friend whose father is dying from kidney failure...and I'm in a constant state of stress and panic. I don't want to rely on retail therapy to get through this. I'm trying to practice meditation and give these people my full support as we navigate the dark days ahead. Life can be so cruel.

No goals for Feb, besides pulling out a couple of my bags to rotate, and giving my people (including my lovely mum) as much love and care as I can.

Now to catch up on the thread and see how everyone's doing.
