January Stats!
1 bag in- Rose Gold Mz Wallace Camera bag- For spring / summer outdoor activities.
0 bags out
0 slgs in
1 slgs out
1 sport bag in- Wanted to buy my friend same rains backpack I bought myself but, hadn't used yet. Hers wouldn't make it in time for her birthday, so I sent her my new one, and will keep hers when it arrives.
2 sports bags out.

I have thrown out or donated mountains of stuff. I did rotate my bags quite a bit. Really like what I have now.
I read three books in January.
These are great stats. Especially your book reading accomplishment! I’ve been trying to stay away from social media and other time wasters and have gotten a pile of books I want to start reading as well.

And, I’d love to see your new rose gold bag!

The first Chanel arrived and I love it. 8 out of 10. I also know I would wear it. HOWEVER!

Last year’s buying binge has really given me a lot of “data” to evaluate what makes me bag happy. I’ve learned there is zero correlation between price or brand and my happiness. My bag joy is based on design, functionality, quality and lack of visible wear.

Some people evaluate cost per wear. That isn’t important to me —> but I’m realizing happiness per dollar does.

So, I’m struggling with this bag which will give me the same “happy level” as some bags for which I only paid 1/10th of the cost. Even if I compare it to my recent LV Blossom tote purchase, it’s still twice that price. But, to be fair, 4 of my 5 most expensive bags are amongst my absolute favorites.

Is this justifiable to my brain? :confused1: I’d love to hear your perspectives. How do you justify spending more on a bag when a less expensive bag down the road possibly may make you just as happy?
I mentioned I’m debating on the Chanel due to the fact that I honestly have “enough” handbags and jewelry. What I need is clothing.

Clothing really is a need. I’ve barely bought clothes since 2020. And my life has changed radically from wearing business formal clothes 5x a week to working from home in joggers and tops. Plus I’m not going to as many formal events as many organizations still aren’t holding them with the frequency they did pre Covid and a lot of friends have slowed with entertaining. All this means I need great business casual work clothes and a different mix of clothes for my personal life.

aaaaaanyway…. I’m serious about only wanting a maximum of 3 bag ins this year and Mr. Sparkle’s gift complicates things (like I said, he buys beautifully but usually impractically - like the pink rhinestone encrusted Jimmy Choo he just bought me. Where am I wearing that?) So, I gently asked him to give me the Valentine’s day bag present early so I can know what it is as I evaluate the two Chanels. He was a little resistant as he’s a more-the-merrier maximalist and I’m an only-what-I-really-want minimalist. But, he agreed. So when the other Chanel comes in, I’ll decide what’s going or staying between the three bags (though I’m not sure if he can return what he purchased )

That was really stressing me out. I had to explain to Mr. S that I’m really, really at a different phase of my life and my bag collecting. So he’s going to have to stop 🛑 buying me bags & jewelry unless specifically requested but that I’ll appreciate his thoughtfulness once I decide what clothing I want.

Posting my January stats for tracking/accountability:

Bags Out: 8 (6 sold through TRR, 1 FP, and 1 PM)

Bags In: 2, details below

BI 1: Miu Miu burgundy Madras Convertible Compartment Top Handle Bag

Reason purchased: work bag, this is a color I will use a lot, fits into my desired closet color scheme of black, grey, navy with burgundy and red being my main non-neutrals.

BI 2: Cartier Panthere Handbag

Reason purchased: temporarily scratches an itch for a Plume due to a similar-ish shape and I love the panther hardware.

I didn’t track as in depth my bag rotation, but I made some progress wearing a few bags that I was “saving” for whatever reason, mostly to work. Weekend, I usually end up using the same Longchamp.
Congrats on 8 outs. That’s amazing!

And I looooove both of these bags. Great choices.

Surprise, surprise! Even though I had no intentions of buying a bag, my lovely mother-in-law, gifted me a bag for the Lunar New Year.

A cute and casual bag. This contemporary brand is popular in Asia. Sort of a modern and edgy look which I don’t have in my collection.

And here’s a photo of the dogs during the New Year for fun lol.View attachment 6125469
What a fun bag to receive. I’ve always liked the Bao Bao bags! Is that a narrow E/W satchel? What a great shape.

I've always loved the ingenuity of the bao bao bag. I'll be curious to know how you like using it.

It’s not E/W just folded in half lol. I don’t know the exact name but I think it’s their classic tote bag.

@whateve I keep you posted!

What a wonderful gift. They are such unique bags. The pups look adorable.

First stats of the year!

January 2025
bags in 1
bags out 0
SLGs in 0
SLGs out 2

I carried 10 bags in January.

I'm done with physical therapy. I don't know that it helped that much but I have a new set of exercises to do, if only I can stick to it.

We have a lot of things scheduled in February so I might not be on as much.

I'll show the new bag a little later. It just got delivered a few minutes ago.

This is my new Portland Leather Goods bag. (The Tiffany card case is there just for color comparison.) The color is amazing. It is instant love!
I wasn't really a fan of this brand for a long time because I thought they looked too unfinished. It smells heavenly.

OMG! A Tiffany blue bucket bag in scrumptious leather??? :faint:

This is a stunner! Well done!

Well, both Chanel bags have come in and both are no. As I mentioned, one is really beautiful but it’s not making my heart go pitter pat. The other is more worn than Fashionphile said and I’ve learned I just can’t tolerate less than pristine bags. Ultimately, I really just want bags that make me thrilled to own them.

Mr. Sparkle is going to give me the bag he bought this week :yahoo: (he’s out of town dealing with family issues.) Perhaps I’ll love it… but then I’d have to eat a healthy plate full of crow. Lol!

I bet you'll love the bag Mr. Sparkle got. He has great taste.
