2025 Resolution: Shopping my own Bag and SLG Collection

Is this justifiable to my brain? :confused1: I’d love to hear your perspectives. How do you justify spending more on a bag when a less expensive bag down the road possibly may make you just as happy?

Hmm, I do think about this from time to time. But sometimes I over think and at the end of the day, if it makes me happy, and I want it badly enough, I’ll get it.

Posting my January stats for tracking/accountability:

Bags Out: 8 (6 sold through TRR, 1 FP, and 1 PM)

Bags In: 2, details below

BI 1: Miu Miu burgundy Madras Convertible Compartment Top Handle Bag

IMG_4841.jpeg

Reason purchased: work bag, this is a color I will use a lot, fits into my desired closet color scheme of black, grey, navy with burgundy and red being my main non-neutrals.

BI 2: Cartier Panthere Handbag

IMG_4578.jpeg

Reason purchased: temporarily scratches an itch for a Plume due to a similar-ish shape and I love the panther hardware.

I didn’t track as in depth my bag rotation, but I made some progress wearing a few bags that I was “saving” for whatever reason, mostly to work. Weekend, I usually end up using the same Longchamp.

lol confession time. I got an SLG.:facepalm:
broke the shopping ban yesterday.

I probably did it because it was bugging me all of last year that I was stuffing my cash into my cardholders and stretching them out.
I told myself, sometime down the line I needed a bigger SLG to hold cash comfortably (but not like a continental wallet, too big).

My Moynat SA knew I was thinking about it so she very kindly held a limited edition lunar new year one for me for a week! (policy is usually 3 days) During this time, I was umming and ahhing about buying it vs breaking my self-imposed ban.
It was also a time I was using a lot cash and it just annoyed me to the point, that I was like fine...I'll get it just because I've been needing it and I don't want to stretch out the beautiful YSL eel cardholder I got over the holidays.
I ended up picking up an SLG that I felt was more practical than the limited edition one. The limited edition one was cute, but I know myself. I do not use what I feel does not work for my purposes or lifestyle.

Besides being annoyed at myself for breaking my ban, very happy with the purchase. I will get a lot of use out of it. And my cardholders can breath a sigh of relief lol.

The ban still stands of course. I will do my best with my remaining self-control lol.
I think I may need a wallet a tiny bit bigger too. I saw what you bought, and it is adorable and still a slim profile. You bought what you needed not a few because they were pretty.

8 bags out is awesome. Congrats on the two new lovelies.

January Stats!
1 bag in- Rose Gold Mz Wallace Camera bag- For spring / summer outdoor activities.
0 bags out
0 slgs in
1 slgs out
1 sport bag in- Wanted to buy my friend same rains backpack I bought myself but, hadn't used yet. Hers wouldn't make it in time for her birthday, so I sent her my new one, and will keep hers when it arrives.
2 sports bags out.

I have thrown out or donated mountains of stuff. I did rotate my bags quite a bit. Really like what I have now.
I read three books in January.

I think I may be stress-shopping. I just want to get away.

Bags: in 0 / out 0

0 interest too. Only worn 5 different bags all month (plastic/cloth shopping bags not included). Next month I hope to do better.

SLGs in 2 counting Chanel beauty wood box and silver 'leather' lipstick case / out 0

Shoes/boots in 0 / out 0

Jewellery in 0 / out 0

RTW: in  7 Black single-breasted Saint Laurent Le Smoking (my others are double breasted); wide-leg pants (being altered) to be worn as a suit + striped tee- others vintage Burberry or Aquascutum / out 4 worn out basics + towel. I need to donate at least 3 things tomorrow.

Books: 2 in 6 out

Other accessories in 1 YSL 'made in Japan' sunglasses / out 0

Makeup in 4 lipsticks :faint: out 3 - including one an empty Chanel radiance powder compact

Apart from the ridiculous money spent, no regrets. RTW is nearly all tailoring and everything should work with my existing wardrobe. I love my new sunglasses and lipsticks too. I need to zip up my purse for at least a couple of months.
Unfortunately reading about your RTW purchases is making me want to rush out and break my temporary clothes shopping ban, long before it ends!!!!!

Surprise, surprise! Even though I had no intentions of buying a bag, my lovely mother-in-law, gifted me a bag for the Lunar New Year.

A cute and casual bag. This contemporary brand is popular in Asia. Sort of a modern and edgy look which I don’t have in my collection.

And here’s a photo of the dogs during the New Year for fun lol.IMG_4103.jpeg

I didn't mean to enable you. I've missed out on a few of my favourite things in the past because I've dithered including a cropped jacket about a year ago. I just thought I'd get the main things out the way.

My preloved Burberry/Aquascutum were delivered today (through a stylist friend). Everything was only £50 to charity.

11 pieces of jewellery went OUT today, 9ct + silver bits. That's 11 out 1 February.

I have already bagged a vintage sheepskin ready to go that I'd previously listed on flee-bay with no luck. Tomorrow, I am determined to add 6 more items to the bag to keep the in/out balance. Another has to be a coat.

I'm on the fence about a sporran bag (bag in the shape of a sporran).

I hope I don’t miss out -I have an online basket with 3 blazers and a pair of trousers…..!

That’s a great start to February ❤️..
