Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate!

I’m doing another pass to trash or donate anything not needed in my home. I’m desperately fighting the “home blindness” we all get which keeps us from seeing clutter as such.

So, I now have 5 bags and one pair of Louboutin’s in consignment and furniture and other items listed on Facebook Marketplace. (I’m also going to stare at my handbag collection again and see if anything needs to go.)

I wonder if shopping is slowing as I would have thought my items would be selling a bit more briskly. Are any of you seeing slow downs in selling? @whateve I think you mentioned you had seen slowing as well.

Summer is always harder. People tend to move house and buy holiday things (and presumably things for their houses), but not buy so much designer wear.

I want to get rid of a 1920s oak desk, a contemporary solid pine table and a couple of chairs. It's not urgent but they are superfluous to requirement. I think I'll just find somewhere to donate if there are still those kind of charity shops around.

I did great in March selling. In April I only sold 3 things and all were miscellaneous low priced items. This month I've sold 2 things, both at listed price, one of which was a purse, so I'm happy about that. One of the sites I sell on has a site-wide coupon that I was hoping would give me some sales but that isn't happening. I think some resale sites are struggling.

My daughter will be visiting in a few days so I've decluttered the bathroom she'll be using. Normally I use this bathroom as my main one, except for showers and baths, so I don't have to disturb DH by using the master bathroom if he is sleeping. There isn't a lot of storage in this bathroom so I had been keeping some supplies in the bathtub.

I actually did. After getting some leather insoles for my new (spare) DM boots in town, I went to the beach. I even bought myself a sushi box and went down to the beach huts (less crowded). I don't normally buy myself lunch out as it seems so indulgent but today I treated myself.

I fell asleep for 2 hours after lunch!

Carried my small navy Emmy bag with 100% cotton black Gap jeans and Mickey Mouse Disney tee, not particularly Spring-like, but I needed to be town/beach appropriate.
I am so glad. That sounded lovely.

Happy Mother’s Day! Things have been a bit slower.

Hello everyone. Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms including fur baby moms. Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

I am supposedly at purse peace, but I still have a wish list (in my head). I know that sounds contradictory but that’s just the way it is. Most of the stuff on my list are older bags though. There’s not much newer stuff out there that’s drawing me in. Which is a good thing for my wallet!:noworry:

In March and April, I was having 5-15 sales per week, and here in May, I’ve dialed back to 3-4.

I’m also selling Hermes, Chanel Balenciaga and Gucci bags for $200-500, and Waterford, Tiffany and Le Creuset home items for $35-85, so I suspect my sales have been more brisk than many.

There are several furniture consignment stores in my area. I intend to send photos of a few items into one this weekend.

Good news is I just learned one of my bags on consignment sold. It’s one of the less expensive ones but I’m still happy as I was having no luck selling it on my own.

This makes perfect sense as this is where I am as well. I am very content with my collection but still have a few non current release bags I’d be happy to acquire if I found them in excellent condition and at a good price - but I’m not spending any time looking for them.

One of those bags is a light colored Prada Galleria. I find those bags so functional but I don’t have one for summer wardrobe.

Hermes and Chanel for sub $500? You really must want them gone. That’s how I feel about furniture. It takes up so much space that I’m happy to sell it at a fraction of market value.

I don't know if it's as much that I want them gone, as that I'm realistic about how much time and energy and space I have these days. Mind you, I'm not selling flaps and kellys at those prices - seasonal bags and retired styles mostly. Of course, 90% of my bags are retired styles, so :shrugs:

Eight months ago, I went through a dramatic and rapid downsizing in two weeks. (3k sq ft and outbuildings to 1400 apartment with no outside storage) And I'm anticipating moving again in the next four months.

I moved a few totes and suitcases full of stuff that I intended to sell, that was just a little too valuable or sentimental to trash. But I put it off and put it off. And then, in March, a bag that I dearly loved back in '11 showed up on a Japanese resale site. I decided to bribe myself - I could buy it if I sold enough to pay for it. And then I just kept going.

The thing I'd love to get rid of is my and my mother's art collection. We have a few pieces that I still enjoy displaying, but a lot that I'm meh about. And a lot fewer walls too. I consigned the more valuable stuff to an auction house last year. It's the sub-5k stuff that is a challenge to move (both physically and selling-wise)

I’m just starting to collect art and have been surprised how expensive of a hobby it is. :wtf: It’s either get diamonds or one art piece. So I HAVE to loooooove it since I’m buying without intention to sell.

I’m going to an art festival this week and hoping to find some great items from little known (and reasonably priced) artists.

I really like the Prada Galleria, especially the mini size. What colors are you considering for a summer bag? I’ve been eyeing a few Celine bags as well as some top handle satchel style bags for everyday wear but really haven’t actively researched or pursued anything.
Up literally at the crack of dawn this morning. Wearing the same Gucci bag with a different outfit to my little cousin's big day (like a Confirmation) . I'm wearing an Etro dress and a new denim jacket my auntie bought me.

You look fabulous, love that outfit (and the bag).
I haven’t been around much what with juggling house guests as well as endless house repairs, but thinking of you and sending wishes for good health and speedy recovery to your DH.

@Cookiefiend, love your tote in champagne!:flowers:
@dcooney4, that’s a perfect summer bag you have there.:heart:
@cecchetti, virtual hugs to you, I know the past few months haven’t been easy for you.:hugs:
@Bag peace, I know I am very behind with this, but hope you’re doing well. Loved the Mulberry bag you posted, and I think it’s lovely that your friend gifted you some goodies. Enjoy them without hesitation, the bags were meant to be yours.
My apologies if I have missed any important updates in this thread, I haven’t been very good at keeping up in the past few months, hope to do better over the summer.

Well, I don’t know whether it was PMS hormones, the weather, stress from looking after my Mother on Saturday or What but..
Yesterday (12th), I Finally ended my clothing desert..

I bought 20 pairs of Skins black leggings.
The Only leggings which actually fit me (I have no hips and long legs) are Skins and CW-X, I mainly wear Skins..

They are usually £110- £130, but were reduced(not seconds or faulty) to £9.99, so I stocked up..these will keep me going for a while..

Unfortunately now I’ve started clothes shopping, I may continue..

It happens to all of us. You will use all of it, and these are practical and well priced :)
I’ve been buying some basic things from COS ;)
