2025 Resolution: Shopping my own Bag and SLG Collection

I don't know whether silver says Spring. I think most of my bags are years round bar my Gucci tote or pale Paul Smith pink satchel.

I literally had no time to get ready this morning and I am going from hosting a Webinar (which was already postponed twice) to chairing a conference this evening. With literally no time to get ready I had to find a bag that said fashion jewellery and business all in one.

I don't think the Le City is the best quality bag I have, but it's certainly getting worn a lot. .

Looking absolutely Fabulous as ever!❤️❤️

This morning I wore my Saint Laurent denim jacket and a Fancy Yellow diamond flower ring.
Ironically my girlfriend was wearing a black T-shirt with a fake Yves Saint Laurent logo, and a costume jewellery flower ring.
She’s Definitely Not ready for PF!!!

I’d like to learn more about the functionality of the Celine Belt Bag as I’ve always liked the look. I’m also considering getting a Fendi By the Way in a light color.
I’ve tried the Belt Bag in the nano size and like the Luggage bag, I think I might prefer this bag in a slightly larger size. Also, most of my bags have a flap closure and I’m really looking for something with two top handles and a zip, and no flap, so I kind of ruled out the Celine Belt bag because of its flap. But it’s a gorgeous bag and comes in lots of colors so you should check it out. The nano size is very lightweight too which is a positive for many people.

Closet Clear Out: List or consign at least one bag for sale this month

Very much doing a closet clean out for my bags this month! Working on downsizing my collection this month. I think I'm going to sell the Polene Cyme and Polene Un Nanos that I have. I don't need tote bags and I don't like using flap bags. They can feel bulky but are limited in capacity. I find myself gravitating towards open top bags again. So I'm getting rid of my Polene un nano, celine triomphe bag, kate spade quilted flap bags, dupe box bags, my polene cyme and my demellier midi new york tote. I'm keeping my Coach minetta, gucci horsebit 19655 dupe bag, polene huit, polene neuf, polene dix, and my celine ava and triomphe shoulder bags.

Someone reported and got deleted one of my posts about art as off topic. I can’t imagine why. We talk about clothes shopping, personal and family illnesses, sewing and other hobbies, home purchases and decorating, life pursuits, dating, pets, careers, home decluttering, family history / dynamics and more on this thread. I have to admit, I’m quite offended.

And this was on topic as me diverting my spending to something other than handbags helps me shop my handbag closet.

That is strange. It is a diversion from handbags for sure.

We’ve always talked about everything and anything on this thread!

Try not to take it personally (I know it’s hard!). I’ve found some mods are overzealous. Some mods, even the ones for threads that warn at the top they aren’t chat threads, will let off topic discussions go on for a little bit. If this continues for too long, they will gently remind everyone to get back to topic. Other mods will just delete posts at the first sign of a complaint. I had two posts deleted recently myself. (I gave up on the one, but I was annoyed enough by the other that I gave an even lengthier answer to the question I had been responding to and very explicitly tied it to the thread title so it wouldn’t be deleted again - plus took the time to note my original post was removed and commented about overzealous mods.) I would love to see tPF put some better rules in place for mods to standardize guidelines for deleting posts. And yes, I agree that while art isn’t handbags, it’s where you are diverting your handbag money, so relevant to this thread. And I also agree that this thread is much more of a chat thread, so topics are not strictly related to the title of the thread.

Your purchases sound like so much fun-and make me feel better-I was definitely hormonal (!) when I bought the leggings, although I will definitely wear them..but now I want More new clothes!❤️

Enjoy your new dress and other clothes-and any sewing you may be doing xx!
Aww, you are right: treasure hunting is great fun and absolutely budget friendly. Plus it gives me my dopamine kicks and keeps me entertained, because almost everything I bring home needs some kind of work like cleaning, repairs or alterations.
It helps me shop my own closet for bags, too. Spending 20€ on a bag full of clothes ( I checked the handbags section and it's not worth mentioning while the shoe section is fairly amazing) from the charity shop means I have had my shopping and there's no urge to handbag hunt. I can happily use what I already have!

Agree. However, I’ve been deleted quite a bit myself over the years, so I try not to get too annoyed. Shopping your closet IMO is about prioritizing; winnowing; curating; refurbishing; budgeting; and, whether or not the budget needs to make room for life; surgeries; expenses like children’s tuition or a new roof; or, art.

I would strongly prefer not to buy an art
Object for 75K USD bc that would eat up a huge amount of a budget for vacations, home furnishings and renovation; life expenses, and to a lesser extent, jewelry, rtw, and accessories.

But, I can also see the appeal of buying less but better. If one only spent a certain huge amount on one item and imposed a self ban on all others to pay for it, more power to them.

I think of this thread as a cosy corner where we all talk about all of those topics, and somehow they all do seem to be embed with our aesthetics and approach to life and consumption (or reduction of such). IDK

Very weird. We support each other on this thread so I don't think it can be a regular.

Don't take it personally, happens to almost everyone, me too.

That’s a pity-I was very interested in the art talk, and as others have pointed out, it’s a diversion of bag money.
Try not to feel too hurt..❤️❤️

I appreciate all the kind support on the comment deletion. I’m usually not phased by such things but I think my feelings were hurt because I was excited about finding a hobby about which I can learn and divert time from mindless bag scrolling and purchasing. I’m fine now but will make a point to tie the comment back for those who don’t make the connection.

Not quite bikini weather but I still went to the beach. Loving my Le City at the moment, styled it with my Gucci hinged bangle

And these are my new DMs so now I can alternate and make both pairs last 4 x as long

I remember when you were deliberating on getting this bag. I was a YES vote and I’m so glad it’s serving you well!

You’ve inspired me to look for sewing lessons. My mother taught me the basics when I was younger but I’ve forgotten half of that and want to learn more. I’d love to make or upcycle fun things to wear like you do. I love that it gives you unique fashions to wear.
