December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

Since it is orange/yellow week I decided to use my only yellow/mustard bag today. I don't know the name of the model, but it is a small bucket bag from Coccinelle. It is one of the bags I grab regularly because it has everything I love about bags: Top handle, small yet roomy, cross-body strap, easy magnetic closure.
On another positive note: I managed to sell the bag that I planned to sell this month, and without a loss 🥳 - so I reached another goal !

@jblended congratulations on your mom’s improving health

@dcooney4 I like your Orla Kiely backpack. I’m sorry you have a colour spot in the corner.

I'm so pleased for you.

My news isn't so good.

DH mother died and he's been away. He has to go for another scan because the last wasn't conclusive. He is determined to see the worst.

On a better note, 2 carrier bags went to charity including a bag. All the boots and shoes I donated last time have been sold already.

I actually saw my black patent Susan Small being sold to lady last Weds at a charity event, I felt like taking it back :smash: but it went to a good home. At the same sale, I bought a AW06 Balenciaga skirt (obsessed by Nicolas Ghesquière for Bal RTW) and have already worn it twice. I also bought a late '80s Christian Lacroix silk satin blouse from CL's heyday, and a new Max Mara skirt that is very lady like. On Friday, I went to yet another charity event and bought a Vivienne Westwood dress, I wan ways wanted one of her draped jersey dresses in black so I'm not sorry. I could have bought much more, including BV and Hermes but did not!

This Thurs, went to the Saint Laurent SS24 event but didn't buy anything. The tailoring is TDF. Still looking for a small day-eve tote but none were as nice as the amber eel SdJ. If I looked hard enough, I'm sure I could fine one in my wardrobe.

2 vintage bags and another large sack of RTW is ready to go to charity.

All these things going out and it doesn't look like I've made a dent.
I’m sorry to hear about your DH’s mother passing.
Best wishes for his next scan.

Well done on your closet edit/curation.

(Not wanting to publicly reveal the spoiler) I'm so sorry about what happened. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. Also, best wishes for his next scan. 🙏

I too went to go look at the SL SS24 collection on display. They were view only though, no one got to try on anything because I think they were all sample sizes. Also didn't buy anything, well, because I basically already bought my blazer haha.
I think my wallet is safe from SL for a while haha.
And with the trend of sling back heels and pointed flat shoes, I'm out. Not a sling back fan nor a flats fan. They look great on others, but I don't enjoy wearing them.

Haven't been posting much but I have enjoyed reading everyone else's posts and love all the beautiful red bag photos!
(I have no red bags.)

But I have been using my bags a lot this month compared to the last few months! I think the Lunar New Year made me go out more often so I was able to use my bags more. :P

ANNUAL COLOR WEEK BAG SHOWCASE!!

A long standing trading (9 years and counting!) is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them by color. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

To make this celebration fun, we share bags of a certain color each week.

COLOR WEEK BAG SHOWCASE!

• New color weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show pictures from previous years (2016-2023) or even just one photo from when you started your collection to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

COLOR WEEKS

Feb. 11: Red (including burgundy)

Feb. 18: Orange & Yellow

Feb. 25: Purple & Pink

Mar. 3: Blue & Indigo (including turquoise & teal)

Mar. 10: Green

Mar. 17: Black

Mar. 24: Gray

Mar. 31: White & Cream

Apr. 7: Brown & Tan

Apr. 14: Metallic (gold, silver, bronze and more!)

Apr. 21: Jeweled and all other embellished

Apr. 28: Multicolored

If you have posted in previous years, you can search the previous threads to find old photos of your bags to share the journey of your curation

Beautiful reds!

Unless I turned the bag upside-down I wouldn't see it. I used to have a scarf with this print, it's totally cool.

Both gorgeous in different ways

I love oxblood and dark red too, but then suddenly I really wanted a bright red. It's a whole difficult vibe.
I’m sorry for your loss and keeping my fingers crossed for your DH’s next set of scans. Excellent work on the items you’ve purged (even if it doesn’t feel like you made a dent, that really is a lot out!) and glad you were able to purchase some items that have been on your list. Enjoy them!

@papertiger Your DH and entire family have my condolences for your loss. And I continue to send good thoughts to DH.

Hello dear virtual friends! I am happy to share my mum is recovering and we are slowly approaching her being out of the "critical" category. It has been a long couple of months but I am finally able to breathe a bit. We have a long road ahead of us and, frankly, life will never be "normal" for us but that is okay. We adapt and keep taking each day as it comes.

Thank you all for your care and support. I hope to be talking bags again soon.
This is wonderful to hear! So happy for you both!
