December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

I don’t ever carry water in my bags. I guess could have seeped in . Here are pictures. It is not super visible unless looking from the bottom. It is strange because the inside never felt damp.
Beautiful bag! But that’s a bummer about the spot. Luckily it’s is a corner and hopefully not too noticeable? It looks fairly faint in the photos, but it may be more visible in real life.

One thing you could try, albeit gently, is a little rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip. Since the spot is on the white/cream part, you run less risk of lightening the fabric since it’s, well, already a light color. The Q-tip will help you be more surgical in the application and keep the rubbing alcohol from spreading. This helped me get a dye stain from a top that wasn’t treated properly out of a Longchamp Le Pliage bag (red bag, navy dye). I rubbed a little too hard in my zest to remove the stain (I lack patience!), so the red did lighten just a tad, but I suspect it’s not noticeable to anyone but me. But learn from my mistake and rub lightly!

Glad you had fun shopping in and reorganizing your closet. While I hate cleaning (despite being a clean freak), I absolutely love organizing. Sounds like a fun way to pass bad weather days.

Hello dear virtual friends! I am happy to share my mum is recovering and we are slowly approaching her being out of the "critical" category. It has been a long couple of months but I am finally able to breathe a bit. We have a long road ahead of us and, frankly, life will never be "normal" for us but that is okay. We adapt and keep taking each day as it comes.

Thank you all for your care and support. I hope to be talking bags again soon.
Glad she is slowly recovering! Take it one day at a time

It’s such a lovely bag. I love orla kiely prints. It could be from a surface that had juice or food that’s left the stain. Not sure where you are but there’s a cleaning product called CIF. I’d try a little of this using a cotton bud, rub and see if it comes off. Other options are to use bicarbonate of soda with washing up liquid/vinegar/lemon juice. One of those 3 with the bicarbonate. To be safe though, I’d patch test on a little bit inside the bag.
It’s still very usable regardless. Xx

So glad to hear this @jblended! Hugs to you both

@dcooney4 , I love that print! :)

You are right , it is a very small stain. I am just annoyed because I am super careful with my bags , even those that are not costly. Thanks for the tip. I like organizing too!

I'm so pleased for you.

My news isn't so good.

DH mother died and he's been away. He has to go for another scan because the last wasn't conclusive. He is determined to see the worst.

On a better note, 2 carrier bags went to charity including a bag. All the boots and shoes I donated last time have been sold already.

I actually saw my black patent Susan Small being sold to lady last Weds at a charity event, I felt like taking it back :smash: but it went to a good home. At the same sale, I bought a AW06 Balenciaga skirt (obsessed by Nicolas Ghesquière for Bal RTW) and have already worn it twice. I also bought a late '80s Christian Lacroix silk satin blouse from CL's heyday, and a new Max Mara skirt that is very lady like. On Friday, I went to yet another charity event and bought a Vivienne Westwood dress, I wan ways wanted one of her draped jersey dresses in black so I'm not sorry. I could have bought much more, including BV and Hermes but did not!

This Thurs, went to the Saint Laurent SS24 event but didn't buy anything. The tailoring is TDF. Still looking for a small day-eve tote but none were as nice as the amber eel SdJ. If I looked hard enough, I'm sure I could fine one in my wardrobe.

2 vintage bags and another large sack of RTW is ready to go to charity.

All these things going out and it doesn't look like I've made a dent.

Here are my two favorite red bags: Tory Burch large Fleming and the Loewe medium flamenco

Unless I turned the bag upside-down I wouldn't see it. I used to have a scarf with this print, it's totally cool.

Burgundy BV Nodini and red Delvaux Madame. I used the Madame for a few days earlier this week but this is a good reminder to break out these bags more often.

Both gorgeous in different ways

My red bags as of 2024. (Not in photo are 2 Longchamp Le Pliage bags.)

I really love oxblood bags!

I love oxblood and dark red too, but then suddenly I really wanted a bright red. It's a whole difficult vibe.

I'm so sorry about your husband losing his mother plus the inconclusive scans. Sending wishes and prayers that he makes a full recovery and strength to you both

I am sorry for your loss. I hope you finally get some good news on scans soon.
Great job on getting things out and congrats on your new treasures.

If it's only on the white area you can try peroxide as it has bleaching properties, but just make sure it stays off the dark areas
If you want to try peroxide, try zit cream (benzoyl peroxide). Due to being more of a gel, it doesn't spread to areas you don't want it on. It takes awhile to work. I've used it successfully on leather purses.

Since it is orange/yellow week I decided to use my only yellow/mustard bag today. I don't know the name of the model, but it is a small bucket bag from Coccinelle. It is one of the bags I grab regularly because it has everything I love about bags: Top handle, small yet roomy, cross-body strap, easy magnetic closure.
On another positive note: I managed to sell the bag that I planned to sell this month, and without a loss 🥳 - so I reached another goal !

So sorry to hear about your DH's mother. I hope there will be good news after the second scan. Sending wishes for healing and good health.
