2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

Our dog sitter put in that path - I was amazed when I came home.
She has a career in architectural landscaping ahead of her! Fantastic!

Yes! She is my sweet Coco Bean. ❤️
She‘s a German Shepherd.
We were overdue a pic of dear Coco! Hello lovely!:love::love:

. I am laughing too myself that I just realized by "football" you probably meant what we call soccer in the US. I was literally picturing a bag made from an American football lol anyway I have never seen this style bag before so thanks for sharing!
 I had completely forgotten the UK/US difference there! Sorry, yes, I meant your "soccer".
That style of bag is actually more common than you'd think. My first one was made out of recycled tyres, and it was only when the rubber disintegrated from age that I got the leather version. The rubber tyre versions are still being made, I'm almost certain.
They're very functional, unique bags (mine's just an empty space inside, but some others have compartments and lining). The only issue is how heavy they are because of the panels.

Thanks for letting me share. Apologies to the regulars who have already seen these bags repeatedly!

Loving everyone's H collections. The leather on each looks so good I wanna pet them! :P

I'd forgotten how pretty the newer Kate Spade bags are. The new bags seem less whimsical than their usual fare and more girly now.

@880 I’m sorry to hear about your MIL’s prognosis. I’m sure she appreciated spending tim with you and your DH.

@cowgirlsboots happy belated birthday and congratulations on your Samourai!

@jblended great treasures, thanks for sharing pics of your special bags.

@Pessie congratulations on your new bag. Your H family is stunning, I love the individual bags and how they hang together so beautifully as a collection. I love dark jewel tones, too. The raisin Bolide :hbeat: Could you please tell me how you’re enjoying the Saut?

@papertiger sending best wishes and good thoughts to you and your husband

@Cookiefiend your dry stream looks beautiful and Coco, too! Gorgeous grand dames in your H collection!

@nyeredzi your Manhattan tote has a cool treatment and texture!

@whateve pretty Kate Spade collection!
The Saut is small for me. It just about fits everything I need for everyday but nothing more. I can wear it x-body in the summer, but not with a thick coat. The BF leather is thick and gorgeous, and smells lovely. I’m glad I bought it but if it were Saut 27 it would be absolutely perfect!

Does anyone have a Demellier bag? I have been thinking of the black smooth leather Vancouver. My daughter has the tan one and it has held up well. I am curious of other reviews. I have shoulder issues and wonder if the strap might be to thin. I should say my daughter and I don’t live together so I can’t try hers.

The first one I saw was the Med blue suede (from Love Parade SS22 catwalk) It sold out in London really quickly, a surprise because suede is usually not so popular. I love my green calf-hair (from the next - AW22 - catwalk). It's very special but it's delicate. I've worn it to two rock concerts (thank goodness no-one smokes inside anymore) and out and about for days out, but I am always worried about rubbing the hair off the back.

I bought my red Aphrodite because I know the two Gucci bags I bought before it were both occasional use only and needed an easy, everyday bag.
I just read about your saga and can totally relate.... I first discovered the blondie January 2022. As soon as I walked into the Gucci store, I noticed a couple of blondies (I think it was black leather and rust suede). I was immediately drawn to and fell in love with the hardware. I announced out loud that it would be perfect in teal suede and SA mentioned there was a blue suede but they didn't have one in stock (apparently nobody did). I eyed it on line but was hard to tell the color blue. I ordered the blue suede blondie boots from Saks just to see the color (ended up returning). Not teal but still pretty but sold out everywhere. Then they came out with the pastel pink, blue and green, which were all really pretty and colors I usually lean towards, but none seemed right. I tried on the light blue but felt I was trying to convince myself. I knew I wanted one of these but just couldn't figure out which color. I kept searching online for the blue suede to no avail then one day in June I randomly did a search and low and behold I finally found one someone was selling. I actually got it at a fraction of the original price and it arrived in excellent shape. It's a little darker than I wanted but different enough from my other navy suede bag (a small jimmy choo tote that's bigger than the blondie and much more casual in style with minimal shw). Sorry for the long post just wanted to explain the saga is real. Glad we both finally ended up with the perfect blondies!

September stats

bags in 0
bags out 0
SLGs in 0
SLGs out 1

ytd
bags in 3
bags out 6
SLGs in 0
SLGs out 9

I carried 8 bags in September.

I've been cleaning out a lot of the house in anticipation of painting and new flooring. I have to empty out dressers and bookcases so they can move them. I decided not to have the insides of the closets repainted because it seems too big a task to pack up those too. We're getting the floors done in them so I just have to get everything off the floor. I've put more things in the donate piles. I dread when I have to pack up my purses. I just don't have enough containers for everything.
Great stats again!
We‘re in the same situation - I’m kinda dreading when the flooring for the basement comes in… while all of the closets are empty and ready, there is so much furniture and electronic (TV, stereo, dvd, etc) that has to be moved that it seems overwhelming.
I don't have an Hermes but I do have some kate spade. The last few years I've really liked this brand.

Thank you so much!
Is she a long haired German shepherd?

If so I have only seen one once. So pretty!
She is a long haired GSD!
I had worried her coat would be a grooming nightmare, but she actually sheds less than the standard coat GSD. I do have to brush her regularly though so that she doesn’t get dreadlocks.
Here is my Hermes fjord bags:
Kabana in rouge vif
Sac en V 26 in gold

These styles are discontinued which make them that much more special. Also fjord is extremely durable. Perfect for everyday use.View attachment 5870122
