Oh my. This looks a bit like concrete. Not sure why this stone was selected to be this years HP. Personal opinion, of course. I wish something more colorful would have been selected-- but not colorful like the 2021 salami pendant.
I agree. I wished a colorful stone was selected this year but I think silver obsidian is a great neutral color. To each their own I guess:-)

Is this the darker or lighter shade in real life? This color looks absolutely beautiful and such a chameleon under different lighting.
the right one is under fluorescent light, that's why lighter color. It looks like pale beige. but when I made a shade by the box, looked like blackish. yes, very interesting stone.

Chose the one in the middle. Truthfully, whatever color variation you are seeing in other photos / videos appears to be largely due to lighting + angles. They all look more or less the same shade of grey irl. I do note that some are slightly more flatter than others but colorwise there is no starking ‘light grey vs dark grey’ (atleast not among the 5 I was shown)
I agree with you!
almost same when i saw them at a boutique, yes just due to lighting and angles as you said.

Question for fellow VCA lovers.... do you find yourself still wearing your holiday pendants or regular vintage size pendants after a certain age? I guess I am curious if you find it to be too petite and delicate to stand the test of time in your jewelry wardrobe.

I don't generally wear many pendants, but I did succumb to the HP pendant last year and I really do enjoy wearing it from time to time. I have been offered this year's pendant as well so I am just trying to think about whether or not I am reaching that stage where dainty pendants aren't as useful in my wardrobe or not. I do tend to love all sizes of bracelets and cuffs for what it's worth, from bold to very dainty. Would love to hear your thoughts
For the most part, I’ve mostly been a “bold and chunky” jewelry person.
I never thought I would own a VCA VA size pendant, but at times my 10 motif was “too much”, and I found my neck feeling empty - like something was missing.
I ended up adding two pave VA pendants last year (and last year’s HP), couldn’t be happier! This is after telling my SA forever that I would never buy a pendant .

I passed on previous HPs as they didnt excite me. Last year’s felt like it was made for me, so I had to add it to my collection.

I enjoy layering my pendants from time to time. I don’t find them dainty, but I think it’s because of the pave?

I don’t have kids, so unfortunately no one to hand my pieces down to. But if you have kids, keep in mind everything you own will (likely?!) be theirs one day, and I am sure they would treasure it for years to come!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on holiday pendants and VA sized pendants. I never expected to bring a holiday pendant home since I rarely wear pendants, but I couldn't refuse last year's version! I am going to the boutique later this week to see what I think of this year's version IRL. There are a few other pieces on my long term wishlist, so I need to love it in order to bring it home. I am always open to the idea of being seduced by something unexpected....those are the best kind of surprises! I love the thought of passing our pieces down to the next generation...:)

Same boat with me and last year’s. I was sure I was going to say no again.
Most of my collection is YG, but WG is always so dreamy. And that “icy blue” was my signature color during my preteen and teen years . Felt like a blast from the past!!

I am with you on this - if you aren’t in love with the HP, it’s okay to say no! If there is any hesitation, I think your answer is no.
I too have a never ending wishlist and would rather focus on that than be distracted by the yearly hype - unless I fall in love  .

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the HP once you visit your local boutique.
