Hooray!!! A unicorn is the best way to break a bag fastSooooo... I bought a bag!
Assuming it works out (I’m 90% certain it will) it’ll be my first true bag purchase in 16 months.
It’s one of my three unicorns so, as soon as I saw it, I ran to get my credit card and buy it. The ironic thing is I wasn’t bag shopping. I was actually looking for stocking stuffers for Mr. S on Fashionphile. Before I closed the page, I decided on a humbug to see if they had any of my unicorns and whoop!they did!
I’ll share pics and more when it comes in. I don’t expect to get it for a week-ish. OMG! I’m excited!
I had no idea you haven't bought in 16 months! I'm planning on shopping to my heart's content until I go get my master's this September. After that, I'll be going on a real bag ban, as I won't be working full time…if you don't mind me asking, do you still enjoy being on TPF despite not being in the market to buy bags? I'm always wondering what it will be like when I have to seriously restrict my shopping, if I'll find it difficult, if I'll still come on TPF, etc
Sometimes. Especially if I’m going from a lighter scent in morning to heavier in the evening. I love fragrance.

@catsinthebag do you like the more structured silhouette of the Galleria? If yes, you could try putting a bag organiser inside this. It would really stiffen up the structure.
I do like the more structured look of the Saffiano totes, but go back and forth on the feel of that leather. Funny thing is, I was trying on Galleria bags in Saks the other day and really loved the look. Decided to think on it, and then last night there was that story in the news about Prada taking heat for one of its bag charms looking like it was in blackface. SMH. I’m not sure what to make of the controversy but decided it may be a sign to wait on that particular purchase!
I had a small Galleria bag several years ago in the Papaya color. Loved the bag but couldn’t get comfortable with the color. I do love the setup with the two zip pockets and open middle. It’s one of the few high-end bags where form and function meet perfectly, IMO.
I will look into a bag organizer but don’t want to weigh the bag down or take up unnecessary space, so it will have to be just the right one.
I agree, that’s the problem with bag organisers.
I am a fan of the Galleria, but I think it works best in classic colours - black, beige, red. I wear so much blue and sapphire myself that navy was the right classic neutral for me, but it might not work for everyone. For me, this is very functional.
If you’re not a fan of saffiano though, the best alternative superbrand bag is probably the SDJ. Do you have / have you tried the SDJ?

I had posted earlier about how I don’t find it quite as much fun to be on tPF since I’m not in active buy mode. I first joined because I needed information. Now I’m very knowledgeable about the brands I tend to buy and have enough info in my head about others to know what I’ll like and what I won’t. And, sometimes, I feel a little silly showing the same bags over and over.
But, seeing bags (for the most part) doesn’t really tempt me because I love what I have. So, happily, I don’t feel the need to leave for that reason.
That all being said, I do still get great info that I can use. In fact, my new purchase is a direct result of insight gleaned from really helpful conversations with @Miss_Dawn and @Kendie26.
So, I don’t really visit nearly as many threads and forums as I used to. As much as I love them and am happy for people who get them, how many times can I ooh and aah over another black Chanel flap reveal? Lol! But, my favorite thing is chatting with the girls on this thread. I like seeing everyone talk about what they are doing whether it’s about bags or fashion or just going about living our days. HTH and I hope you stay around and keep the conversation going.
And, whoo hoo on starting your Masters!!! Please share what you get beforehand!!!

For the life of me I can’t see much (any) difference between Prada’s Galleria tote which you just showed in blue and the double zip totes (like my pink and red)
The Galleria is slightly more curved and the DZT has the opening for the key fob on the front. Other than that, it seems odd to me they’d have models this similar.
But...then... that’s kinda Prada’s thing when I think of it. Lol!
I completely agree about how super functional the Galleria / Double Zip totes are. The design plus the Saffiano make these bags true work horses. At times I’ve been tempted to get one in black for that very reason.
And, I’m like you. I’ve avoided bag organizers because I didn’t want the extra weight. And, a little because I don’t like the look. I would want to get one that matched the lining of my bag as closely as possible.
On the Prada charm. I don’t see racism in it. The monkey charms were part of a line of bizarre looking animals. At most, I think it may have been a little clueless given past intentionally racist imagery. But, I don’t see intentional racism here. These kinds of things frustrate me. There is real, virulent, devastating racism to be fought. This kind of uproar is a distraction and wearies everyone on the subject.

ETA - @Sparkletastic does the double zip tote have button closures in side panels to cinch the bag when in use? My Galleria does.
