I guess there is no reason not to share what it is. It’s not like it isn’t on its way. I’m being silly level cautious. Lol!

I just bought the Diorama Ultra Black Studded WOC:yahoo:
View attachment 4280908
I’m soooooo excited. This is the bag Mr S. tried to get me to buy but, in the medium size. I said no because felt I didn’t need another black bag. And, even though my YSL Sm Mono Cabas is a very different style, it is black w/ black hardware. So it felt like a lot of money for something that would make my black bag habit worse and not add a lot to my collection. But, I’ve thought about it ever since.

Then @Miss_Dawn showed her Dior WOC and I LOVED it. And we talked about how much it held, etc. which made me even more interested (I have to have function.)

@Kendie26 shared how useful her Chanel WOC is for business and let me ask a ton of questions about that usage.

So... when I saw this WOC version on Fashionphile a month ago, I REALLY wanted it. But I was stupid and waited and someone bought it. I was extra bummed because I went to a black tie event shortly thereafter and it would have been perfect. :crybaby:Then I was hunting on Fashionphile in the middle of the night, LO AND BEHOLD!!!! It was back!!! I thought I was seeing things.

I’m super excited!!! It’s in excellent condition with the box, bag, etc. YIPPEEE!!!
The lack of organization is one of the things that’s kept me from the super pretty SDJ. Also, when it first came out, it was so heavy with the leather lining.

And, yes, the YSL sales teams in TWO cities were completely unhelpful. I refuse to believe it was reasonable to have to wait 2-4 months just to get the hardware and THEN they were still iffy about repair. :annoyed:
Let us know how the sale goes. Fingers crossed.

I forgot most white bags go yellow. I wonder if there is a way to stop that.

I’m all about limiting my purchases too. You and I are going to end up at about the same place. I’ll have 3 bags / 0 SLG’s in this year.

And just FYI - I think all but the largest Diorevers are a shoulder bag. (Image from Google) This is another bag I love but like with the SDJ I’ve heard it’s heavy.View attachment 4280923
And of course I’ll squeal with joy when you get your lambie!!! It’s fun to see my pocket friends add bags that make them joyful. I just don’t need to lurk the Chanel (or any other) thread and see endless reveals. It gets boring after a while. I prefer conversations about wearing, storing, playing with, selling, repairing, gifting, etc. bags vs just the buying moment. I absolutely agree with you that they need to be sensitive and thoughtful as an image company.
I love to hear stories of good customer service.

I’ve just found the SL store staff to be completely uninterested. It’s like they are all terminally bored. I tried on shoes in the one in Nassau a couple months ago and got no energy. Looked at bags at the one in Dallas this month. Same thing. It’s not motivating at all to buy - especially given my service issues. Which is a shame since I love several of their bags like the SDJ and the LouLou tote.
YES! I adore this bag. But again, this is another bag I’ve heard is heavy. Plus it’s arm / hand carry. I just can’t make myself take the plunge.
Thanks for the bday wishes!! And double Yay! For this thread!

The fact that this WOC was gone and then back means it really was meant to be yours! It looks amazing — perfect combo of beauty and edge.

“Terminally bored” is a good way of putting it! Funny that this seems to be the case across stores, not just an isolated incident!

And yes, the Capucines is very heavy. The BB size isn’t so bad, but in a size I could actually use for everyday? It will pull my arm right off!

I’ve been thinking about how mini and small bags have stayed in style muuuuuuch longer than I would have thought. And, it’s incluenced me. I still don’t want a lot of mini bags. But, I can now see how they can have a function.

I wonder when big bags will come back into style. Not the ridiculously big ones we’ve seen lately that are more runway statement pieces but, the large bags that were in vogue say 12-15 years ago. I used to love the look of a big bag. But now I just don’t have anything to put in them. I’m not sure if I would go back to big bags.

Do any of you have interest in seeing / owning more large bags?

Assuming it works out with the bag once it comes in, I’m calling this a gift from the purse gods to make up for my recent selling horrors. Lol!

On heavy bags, why don’t manufacturers get that weight matters, especially in big bags where we will have to add much more weight on the inside??? I want leather linings and substantive hardware but, there has to be a way to give great features and keep the bag functional and not an orthopedic issue in the making.

I just bought a relatively big bag for me. I like a medium to large bag for everyday. Anything really big or really small looks ridiculous on me. I don't know why the small bags look stupid on me - I'm fairly petite. The huge bags make me look like a kid playing dress-up. I have some small bags but I don't carry them much because it is too much trouble to arrange everything so it fits. Then when you need something, you have to take everything out to get to it. I just carried a small bag today and my sunglasses didn't really fit, so I kept them on my head most of the time. I don't carry as much as I used to but I doubt I will ever reduce to a compact wallet. I don't like to fold my money. I like a bag to be big enough that not only all my stuff fits, but there is room for a water bottle and something more if I need it.

Thanks for the compliment on the bag. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I have been really resistant to getting a WOC - mainly because I always wear sunglasses and need my bag to have room for them.

But, being on tPF has given me insight on how a WOC could really work for me. I plan to wear it to work inside a larger laptop bag. That way I’m only carrying one bag (with the WOC inside) instead of many times schlepping two. If this works well, I can see myself getting more WOC’s for variety. (And, it will solve my “I don’t like work bags” issue.)

I also plan to use this as a going out / cocktails / evening bag. I could have happily worn this with the gown I had on a few weeks ago (gold with black beading on one hip).

But, I don’t see myself using this as a day bag. I really need my sunglasses and even if it’s a cloudy / rainy day where I don’t just have to have a pair, I don’t want to have to wrestle with fitting the rest of my things into a tiny bag.

This is more rectangular (v. square) than most. I’m curious to see how that works out.

(I have found stocking stuffers for Mr. S. and my kids but, not on Fashionphile. Lol!)
Yes, that makes a lot of sense to pop it inside a tote/laptop bag for daytime use. I think it's going to work beautifully for you.

I'm intrigued at the thought of it as an evening bag. When I'm wearing something very dressy, I never think about carrying a bag on a chain... I carry a clutch. But then that's a pain, because it ties up one hand. And if it's an event where you want to hold a plate, it feels like a juggling act. When you go out to a dressy event (and it seems from your posts here that you go to quite a few) do you carry little shoulder bags instead of clutch bags? I'm going to a very dressy gala next spring, and while I haven't even bought the dress yet, I'm already wondering about my bag!

Even the BB size isn't what I'd call a lightweight. I love mine, and it works for me because I don't need to carry very much most of the time, but the weight means it isn't my favorite of my two LV bags. I like my Montaigne BB better. Although the Capucines is red, which is a big point in its favor! :giggle:

I’ve been lucky in that during the my no purchase period, I received two bags as gifts even though I didn’t request them. But, it was still really tough at times not to buy. :whut:

I had posted earlier about how I don’t find it quite as much fun to be on tPF since I’m not in active buy mode. I first joined because I needed information. Now I’m very knowledgeable about the brands I tend to buy and have enough info in my head about others to know what I’ll like and what I won’t. And, sometimes, I feel a little silly showing the same bags over and over.

But, seeing bags (for the most part) doesn’t really tempt me because I love what I have. So, happily, I don’t feel the need to leave for that reason.

That all being said, I do still get great info that I can use. In fact, my new purchase is a direct result of insight gleaned from really helpful conversations with @Miss_Dawn and @Kendie26.

So, I don’t really visit nearly as many threads and forums as I used to. As much as I love them and am happy for people who get them, how many times can I ooh and aah over another black Chanel flap reveal? Lol! But, my favorite thing is chatting with the girls on this thread. I like seeing everyone talk about what they are doing whether it’s about bags or fashion or just going about living our days. HTH and I hope you stay around and keep the conversation going.

And, whoo hoo on starting your Masters!!! Please share what you get beforehand!!!

When I see Kendie ‘s name mentioned here, I guess it’s a Chanel then. [emoji16]
Lamb jumbo single flap in like new condition? I’m not up to date on the thread anymore so I maybe wrong?

Funny, I never really could get into the small bag trend. But I think it has affected me anyway. I have two Kelly’s in the 35 size, and I love them, but am starting to feel like they’re just a little too big. I wore one last week and had a momentary panic when I was in line in Whole Foods and couldn’t find my wallet because it had slid under my tissues. I’ve tried to downsize but can’t do it to the point of a really tiny bag. But, my wallet is now a card case and if I’m not carrying a water bottle and a notebook, I don’t really need a larger bag.

That said, I look forward to a time when a variety of sizes are available. For a while, it felt like the only stylish bags out there were small and smaller!

Sooooo... I bought a bag! :giggle:

Assuming it works out (I’m 90% certain it will) it’ll be my first true bag purchase in 16 months. :faint:

It’s one of my three unicorns so, as soon as I saw it, I ran to get my credit card and buy it. The ironic thing is I wasn’t bag shopping. I was actually looking for stocking stuffers for Mr. S on Fashionphile. Before I closed the page, I decided on a humbug to see if they had any of my unicorns and whoop! :yahoo: they did!

I’ll share pics and more when it comes in. I don’t expect to get it for a week-ish. OMG! I’m excited! :panic:
woohoo!!! :woohoo:

Spark, this is one lovely bag, and i hope it will work out for you well!
i love the total black look!
myself, i have never been into small/mini bag trend, i own a few clutches that serve different purposes, i often have one tucked into my bigger day/work bag, and that's a very handy way of being prepared for all the occasions.
my normal preferred size has always been a mid big to big, and i stay loyal to 2 brands because they make awesome size logo-free bags that don't weigh a ton!
here's my Bazar, my DH got me for my bday, i am wearing it a lot, and as a carry on for travels, too, as you can see it's almost as big as my cabin suit case :D

Medium sized works best for me. I have a set group of things I carry and never can be without: french purse style wallet, sunglasses, small medicine pouch, small makeup bag, keys, iPhone, pen, lotion, tissues. I’m not going to leave these things at home. And I don’t want to work to make them fit.

The WOC will be ok because I’ll carry the extra things in my work tote or I’ll be in a unique situation like a black tie event where I won’t need everything.

But, mini bags just because? Nope. I need function not just fashion.
Yes, that makes a lot of sense to pop it inside a tote/laptop bag for daytime use. I think it's going to work beautifully for you.

I tend to carry a clutch with a shoulder strap option. I am getting more and more about function as time goes on. I’m just tired of doing exactly what you said: juggling a glass of wine or little plate of food while also trying to hold a cutesy bag. Just no.
Even the BB size isn't what I'd call a lightweight. This is good to know. The bags are adorable and I’ve been considering a BB.

That’s funny. I find Dior boutiques to be really welcoming. The staff is always so warm. Chanel can be hit or miss.
I feel the same way. I don’t want to have to unpack and repack my bag every time I need something. And I really want my sunglasses to fit too.
Yes, I neeeeeeeeeed my sunglasses! Have you looked into foldable ones? I’ve made a cursory search but didn’t see cute ones.
