Aw. It’s a shame when people have issues because of culture. I don’t get that. I’m glad your son in law doesn’t share his parents’ issues.

I think my dating situation was eased a bit because we were all Catholic so the religion / denomination trumped ethnicity. (Or it could have been my stupendously winning personality. ROFLMBO!!!) in any case, I ended up liking the parents better than the son.

Can your daughter cook good Indian food for you?

Two food types I will eat with abandon - anything Asian from any region (minus rice which tastes like gummy nothing to me). And seafood. I know that’s not a type of cuisine but... lol!
I adore just about any vegetable. Just not kale or beets. So I’d be willing to give it a try.
I love Italian seasonings but I’m just not a fan of starchy stuff because it doesn’t have a taste to me. It’s like the m chewing gummy air. (My exceptions to starchy stuff are French fries and warm hot rolls - either of which I’ll inhale like a vaccumm.). So pizza dough and pasta aren’t things I want to eat. I pick the toppings off of pizza slices. Lol! And, I will eat the sauce and toppings and not eat the pasta. When I make spaghetti I steam veggies and put the sauce and beef over that.

Tell your dad that you just have an elevated palate that he can’t understand.
My daughter is a great cook but I don't think she makes Indian food.

My other daughter calls herself a pescaterian. She loves seafood.

DH hates most vegetables. We both agree that beets are terrible.

I avoid the starchy stuff because I'm eating low carb to control my blood sugar. You not liking it is probably why you are so trim. I love pizza. It was my favorite food growing up. The crust is the least important part so when i'm being good, I'll pull the toppings off and eat just those.

Anyone use turmeric? It’s supposed to be great for reducing inflammation / increasing immunity. I can’t figure out how to use it regularly. I tried it in a broth drink :whut: ...

...and found out I didn’t have nearly the commitment to good health that I thought.

I guess, this is a trend, too. You can put it in and on everything but it needs a bit of fat to be able to work, as far as I know. People drink „golden milk“, milk with honey and turmeric, you can mix it with cooked carrots and ginger, or with lemon and cinnamon. Small amounts should suffice. I have bought an herbal tea ready with turmeric and cinnamon. Trend has reached the supermarkets [emoji1]

I’m out of town for a conference and I’m happy to have my Mulberry with me. See how the harware reflects on my blazer.

Where I live, the crust is the most important part! Pizza is judged by its crust! I am an admitted carboholic, so I fit right in here!

November and YTD Stats

bag challenge: wore all of my black bags at least 1x. I have seven black bags, sometimes I wonder if that is a lot of black bags, yet, it works for my lifestyle and I use them regularly. I wore my Chanel Reissue and Gucci Soho Disco more than once => carried black bags a lot this month

i have completed my mission - wore my all black bags (11 bags) at least 2 times this month, only 1 clutch left out, but that's fine.
And now i am back to the one i started with - my bday pressie, still very new to me, Balenciaga Bazar graffiti, this is my loudest one in terms of logo, but it's so unobvious that i'm ok with that  scarf is Bal, too, and it has a HUGE logo on it, but you'd never tell what it is, so it's fine, too
Fantastic job on wearing all of your beautiful black bags! Great pic, that scarf and bag combo pops!

I've just started taking turmeric in capsule form (I think they're 600mg, and you're supposed to take 1 a day). This was recommended by my internist as an anti-inflammatory, since I can't take celebrex or any of the class of drugs like ibuprofen (alleve, motrin, etc). I took 1 a day last week, but I can't say that I noticed any magic. I have an appointment with my internist in a few weeks and I'm going to ask her for more of an explanation. Maybe you have to take it for an extended period of time to see results? But then is there any downside???
I asked her if I could just take it in tea (I have some ginger/turmeric tea taking up space in my pantry) and she said I wouldn't get enough that way.
And now you know everything that I know! :hrmm:
