I think Strathberry is not well-known here, BUT, my local Saks just started carrying it, so maybe that’s about to change!

I think when Meghan Markle carried it, it started to become popular in the US. I haven't seen one yet.

Its also now at Nordstrom. But it seems they only have more stylized options. Some are quite adorned - almost like Gucci. :-s
I agree that MM dramatically increased visibility. I can’t recall if I saw them first here on in a fashion oriented article about her.

Yes, I think Meghan carrying Strathberry bags has dramatically increased awareness. The thing is, I think they’ve been too indiscriminate in gifting bags to bloggers and it’s cheapened the brand in my eyes. I don’t read that many blogs / YT but every UK blogger’s handbag collection seems to have gifts from Strathberry and Aspinal. I’m more tolerant about Aspinal because they are a heritage brand like Mulberry (less well known, but still genuinely good stuff). With Strathberry my only knowledge is that they’re handed out as freebies.

I think it’s just a phase. As they settle into their own skin, they’ll probably stop handing out samples, and then I’ll be able to form a proper view about whether or not I like them :smartass:

I intended to buy some boots online for BF but, it’s just too hard to tell what I’ll like / what will fit online. And I don’t want to have 10 pair of shoes shoes up to tru even though some stores do free returns. I think I need to go into the stores. Gagh! I just HATE to shop in store.

I’m going to go ahead and get the Lululemon bag even though it’s not on sale. It’s only $60. I think I can forgo waiting for what would probably be a whopping $9 off. Lol!!!

On the other end of the money spectrum, I saw a very expensive bag that I actually wanted...badly. It would be the second most expensive bag I own if I get it which is territory I swore I don’t need to play in unless it’s veeeeeeeerrrrrryyyyy special and well thought out. So, I’ve spent the entirety of the day taking myself off the cliff. Mr S. has spent enough on the two bags he purchased for me this year. I love the Dior but it was crazy expensive. :whut: So, I can’t see spending this much more on bags this year with the spending I’ve already done starting to rebuild my wardrobe and on home stuff. :frown: Yikes. Adulting isn’t always fun.
Do tell. What apple from Eden is tempting you?

That is a great bag! I’d only seen versions with the Burberry Plaid on the sides which doesn’t appeal to me. I’ll have to take a look at this.

In the US (at least the Midwest and South which I frequent) there is almost zero awareness of Strathberry which is why it appeals to me. I prefer to carry bags that don’t have brand recognition / lots of cache to work to keep Jealous Judy’s at bay. Burberry, however is fairly well known. But I don’t think it will trouble people as much as say a Fendi or even a Coach would.
OMG! I love this! So much sleeker than my laptop bag. I’m having a bag envy moment.

I’ve read that many people use a WOC and a laptop bag. I probably should switch to that. I really like the WOC that Dior had our a little while ago. @Miss_Dawn, don’t you have that one? What is the model called. Can you share another pic? Maybe I can get one resale as I think they’re discontinued.
I’m a pink girl myself. So two thumbs up for all the pink!

I think my Burberry was a limited edition (it was called something like ‘with chain detail’). I agree I don’t like the plaid on the side of the typical Banner bag, but I love everything about this one - the weight, the colour, the elegant profile of the side panels. Whenever I carry it, I remember how much I like it and have a hard time switching out!

Yes, I have a Diorever WOC. It has good capacity. I carry it for weekends and for business (e.g. dinners). It’s very subtly branded, and in taurillon leather, so it doesn’t have a single scratch. I like it a lot. Here’s a picture, including ‘what fits’ from a Valentine’s weekend earlier this year. And wandering around Rome in the summer.

Speaking about having a hard time switching out, I haven’t carried this bag in more than a year.

And then I pulled it out to see whether I even like it, and I’m finding it so wearable with my winter navy and charcoal palette that I’ve carried it for two weeks already, and I think it looks great! I’m getting compliments on it. I sent a picture to my mum who rarely understands my purse passion and she replied with “beautiful! oooooh, is that new?” Nope, it’s about 10 years old, but it wears like iron.

Who woulda thunk? (As @Sparkletastic would colourfully put it!)

Yes, a few things. Over the past week or so:
- Nike trainers
- some holiday beauty gift sets and 2 Advent calendars (must resist...)
- lots of Christmas decorations and pink accessories because I started turning everything pink around the tree (:facepalm:)
- iPad Mini (needed replacing and I got 25% off today!)
- and finally, I spent a Selfridges gift card that my work place gave me for a work anniversary today. I ordered a Montblanc business card holder and card case on 20% off :yahoo:

Here is the pink mania around my tree. Pen, swell bottle, mist diffuser and candle in pink sand were all being used to study (well the candle was just to make me happy!) The table runner in jacquard pink & gold is also brand new. Why am I so match-matchy?!

I’m so happy with my Christmas tree. It has fairy tale charms (a golden key, crystal snowflake, crystal chandelier) and although that feels a bit juvenile, I just find it comforting :hbeat:

And here are the Montblanc presents from the work gift card I just ordered (so happy!)
a fairy tale indeed!!

Thanks for the photos of the Diorever! I adore this bag. This is one for me to hunt. I like it so much better than the Chanel WOC’s.

I’m also going to keep an eye out for the Banner.

And yay! on wearing color with winter clothes!!! I’m glad you’re enjoying your bag!

Thank you!

I temporarily switched out to a smaller bag today for the weekend. I had the day off work so I went Black Friday shopping :coolio: I’m carrying my duochrome Soho Disco.

Mr Dawn calls her my “Go-go” bag. I’m pretty sure he knows her actual name is Soho, but Go-go sounds so appropriate for her that I don’t object!

Getting rid of “perfectly good clothes that I don’t love” is the easiest for me. But throwing away ratty pieces that I wear it so often the thread is becoming bare is harder. And throwing away clothes I love and has worn years and years ago when I still thin is the hardest. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I was just thinking this as I was going through my closet! Lol!

OMG! After 3 years up for sale I got an offer on the Celine. It’s low but not low ball if you get what I mean.

I really don’t want to sell it for that price but I’m wondering if this is STRONG sign that this is what the bag is actually worth.

Should I take it? I’d be selling it for 15% or original retail and a third of what I paid for it. :panic: Gosh that just seems soooo low for a bag that is excellent quality. I just don’t like / want it.

After 3 years?! I think take it  cut your losses and let it go. You’re really clearing the decks this autumn ;)

Sell! I am finally trying to do the same thing. It hurts but your not wearing it.

Which bag is it? Do you have a picture?

I’d sell. I donate my bags because reselling feels much harder in the UK than it seems to be in the US. So I would see this as a windfall gain and let it go. However you have to be comfortable with your decision, so sleep on it and then trust your instinct.

Sell! Like you said, you no longer like or want this bag, to the point where you’re sick of looking at it and thinking about it. My DH likes to say, “sunk costs are irrelevant.” At this point, it no longer matters what you paid for the bag. If this is the best offer you’ve had in 3 years, take it and run.
