Can’t you just tell them off? Some people just try to discredit you and swoop in for a cheaper deal.
How I would love to, but I don't want to get into a pi$$ing contest on the listing. :whut:
DH thinks that deleting the listing and then re-listing it is like saying this woman was right and I'm trying to hide something - so I think I may just make a comment on the listing to the effect that some people don't have a clue about Hermes and by some people I mean Ms I Have a Morse* et Gourmettes That I Bought at an Auction.

Hmmm....Your DH has a good point. And there is nothing to keep her from following you to a new listing. I’d just make a clear comment and keep it moving. Did you also list on Tradesy and Vestiaire Collective? Also, there are probably several Hermes lovers FB pages.
That is annoying. That is why I don’t sell high end stuff myself.
Yea. I’m much more comfortable selling items $250 or less. They sell faster and usually with very little hassle.

Higher end items generate lots of requests for things like more photos, additional information, receipts, etc. Most of the questions are ok. Some are ridiculous. And, there’s definitely more lowballing which puzzles me. Has lowballing ever worked? Who lists a bag for say $2000 and then will take a random offer for $600??

In any case, the good news is I think this will be my last round of selling for a while. I’ve cut deep in my collection with this purge and am getting rid of bags I actually love. But, I don’t use them so, off they go. I keep reminding myself that it will be so much better to have bags I use.

I literally stood in my closet and stared at my remaining bags to make sure there wasn’t anything else that was on the bubble. There is only one bag with the potential to leave and that’s my ivory Chanel. But, I knew I wouldn’t wear it a lot when I purchased it. Plus ivory is a low involvement color for me. I don’t need it often but when I do, the bag is there. So, it gets a pass for now.

I think that I may keep the Gucci Stirrup and 2 Proenza Schoulers. Still thinking. The Gucci is just gorgeous. I keep staring at it and thinking I can’t let it go; I have to find a way to wear it. In contrast, the PS’s were worn quite a bit before I purchased other bags, I just don’t love them. Sigh. They probably should go.

I’m seeing @dcooney4 ‘s and @HopelessBagGirl ‘s MZ Wallace bags and thinking I need a truly carefree, non leather cross body bag.

I’ve been looking at Prada nylon bags but the cost is cuckoo. I’m not a big fan of Longchamps. Any other suggestions? Something still really cute so I’ll actually want to wear it. LOL! But also durable.
Yeah… thats a crazy cost!
I would agree with @dcooney4 and @HopelessBagGirl's suggestion of MZ Wallace - I've been eyeing the Downtown Crosby https://www.mzwallace.com/shop/prod...rd-downtown-crosby/15343.html?&cgid=crossbody
It's a surprising bag - it doesn't look big but it can hold a lot.
My only qualm is all the zippers. I sold my small Crosby because I could never remember which side I put what in. I do better without dividers.

Right now this one is only on Posh, I'm going to put it on eBay when they allow me to list more 'luxury' items. Apparently since I am new to selling on eBay, I have a limit. :yucky:

Made me laugh with 'Has lowballing ever worked?'
I'm with you on keeping the ivory Chanel - the one time you needed it and didn't have it you would be upset. I know I would be!
It does sound like the Proenzas need to go… you don't love them. Someone else will! :hugs:

With naps and pain meds, I missed the UPS guy yesterday and was ready to cry. :crybaby: So, today, I set up shop on my great room sofa and waited him out. LOL!

And...they’re here! They look amazing!! Leather Surgeons does such a nice job packaging the bags. (I like their dust bags for travel because they’re canvas and seem a bit more protective than the ones from brands.) And, they give a complimentary certificate of authentication on Chanels. And, I’m so glad LS was able to fix the hardware on the YSL because I really do love the bag!!! Now, I’m thrilled it didn’t sell.

I’m pretty bag happy right now. I feel like I’ve gotten 3 new bags and a new SLG this week! LOL!! I think this can calm me down from the shopping bug that was biting me.

Hey, Mr. S is on the road and I have a bum knee, wonky eye and a bandaged foot. I’m taking my happies where I can get ‘em.

Sorry I haven’t been able to do anything but fly by and “like” posts today... have spent the day running errands and packing to go visit my parents tomorrow. I haven’t flown in forever so it’s a little nervewracking! Just to have a picture to post, here’s my Longchamp le Pliage in Indigo with my Longchamp Mademoiselle nestled inside (or maybe I should be honest and say “crammed inside!”). No luxury bags on this trip!

They are both gorgeous, Spark! Enjoy them... it's (almost) like getting two brand-new bags!

Not a handbag story, but it's definitely about decluttering & "less is more."

For a while now, I've been feeling a bit disappointed with my Hermès scarves. Not wearing them as often as I used too, not feeling happy when I pulled one out, and re-using the same one again & again. I couldn't figure out what my problem was, since I rely heavily on these 90cm silk squares to accessorize my mostly-neutral daily outfits. Did I need more scarves? Was it time to shop??? Nooooooo! :panic: :panic: :panic:

Finally last week I figured it out: I didn't have too FEW scarves, I had too MANY! There were scarves in my collex that basically did nothing for me. Some were purchased years & years ago, and worn to death back then. Others were more recent purchases, but the colors weren't doing me any favors.

So I spread out all my scarves (38... eek!) and found ten that no longer made my heart skip a beat. Which still left me with a perfectly splendid collection: no color gaps, no color/design overlaps, and every one of the 28 is one I'll be excited to wear. Then I washed, ironed, folded, and tucked them neatly into their orange boxes, and today they are on their way to my favorite reseller for consignment.

Ditto! Enjoy!
Thanks a bunch, ladies! I’m really happy with how they turned out. Now I just want to get healed so I can go out and wear one of them!

That’s amazing! The “extra” scarves were cluttering your view of your collection as a whole. There is a good lesson here to be learned and I’m going to try to “get” it. If we’re feeling discontent, before we jump to add, a good pruning may clear the mental fog / malaise we’re feeling.

I’m so happy for you! Now you can clearly see the beauties you have and you’ll get some fun money to play with from selling the extra!

Question - my YSL looks best when it’s full but, I usually don’t carry enough to fill it up. Would a shaper / organizer be a good option to leave in the bag for plumpness and structure? What is a lightweight brand for me to try? I’ve never bought a shaper before.

I hear you. Sometimes I like being away on a trip with only 8-10 scarves to use and re-use. Good challenge. I hope your downsizing leaves you more freedom!
