Yesssss! I've never seen the Feux d'artifice (?) in this CW. What a great combination!!
Thank you, dear moma! I used to wear this scarf all the time in the 80s & early 90s... with a navy suit and a white silk blouse. And navy and white spectator pumps. Wow. I am REALLY dating myself! :hrmm:
It was my "power" outfit: "I'm running this meeting, guys. I might be a petite woman, but don't mess with me." Very effective. Now I wear it to the grocery store with a white tee, a grey cashmere pullover, jeans, and sneakers. A whole lot less stress!

I hear you. Sometimes I like being away on a trip with only 8-10 scarves to use and re-use. Good challenge. I hope your downsizing leaves you more freedom!
I'm already feeling much more free! I reorganized the bureau where I keep my scarves, re-sorting into color groupings that make more sense to me, and it was such a pleasure to have a smaller collection!

I recently re-sorted all my 90s into four piles: darks without blue / darks with blue / lights without pink / lights with pink. They're almost equal.

With naps and pain meds, I missed the UPS guy yesterday and was ready to cry. :crybaby: So, today, I set up shop on my great room sofa and waited him out. LOL!

And...they’re here! They look amazing!! Leather Surgeons does such a nice job packaging the bags. (I like their dust bags for travel because they’re canvas and seem a bit more protective than the ones from brands.) And, they give a complimentary certificate of authentication on Chanels. View attachment 4127505View attachment 4127506 The are both tidied up and fresh. The red lamb Chanel just glows. And, I’m so glad LS was able to fix the hardware on the YSL because I really do love the bag!!! Now, I’m thrilled it didn’t sell.

I’m pretty bag happy right now. I feel like I’ve gotten 3 new bags and a new SLG this week! LOL!! I think this can calm me down from the shopping bug that was biting me.

Hey, Mr. S is on the road and I have a bum knee, wonky eye and a bandaged foot. I’m taking my happies where I can get ‘em.
My goodness, I drool!!

On your question of an organizer, I recommend Samorga. I use them for the Epi Speedy as I want the bag to retain the shape. The last I looked at the Samorga website, they do not show anymore the individual dimension for each organizer. They have models for several bag brands and models. But you can also custom order. Samorga liners ship from Korea. There is a thread on tpf on it.

Not a handbag story, but it's definitely about decluttering & "less is more."

For a while now, I've been feeling a bit disappointed with my Hermès scarves. Not wearing them as often as I used too, not feeling happy when I pulled one out, and re-using the same one again & again. I couldn't figure out what my problem was, since I rely heavily on these 90cm silk squares to accessorize my mostly-neutral daily outfits. Did I need more scarves? Was it time to shop??? Nooooooo! :panic: :panic: :panic:

Finally last week I figured it out: I didn't have too FEW scarves, I had too MANY! There were scarves in my collex that basically did nothing for me. Some were purchased years & years ago, and worn to death back then. Others were more recent purchases, but the colors weren't doing me any favors.

So I spread out all my scarves (38... eek!) and found ten that no longer made my heart skip a beat. Which still left me with a perfectly splendid collection: no color gaps, no color/design overlaps, and every one of the 28 is one I'll be excited to wear. Then I washed, ironed, folded, and tucked them neatly into their orange boxes, and today they are on their way to my favorite reseller for consignment.

Great job!

How I would love to, but I don't want to get into a pi$$ing contest on the listing. :whut:
DH thinks that deleting the listing and then re-listing it is like saying this woman was right and I'm trying to hide something - so I think I may just make a comment on the listing to the effect that some people don't have a clue about Hermes and by some people I mean Ms I Have a Morse* et Gourmettes That I Bought at an Auction.

Yes. Deleting and creating a new one means you’re running away from her and her accusations. Don’t do that. Educate her, even though she maybe too dumb to learn, but it’ll show off how knowledgeable you’re with your merchandise. That’d come out better.

@Sparkletastic if you don't like mzw nylon bags why not a canvas one? This fendi on eBay is so cute and light. Black and brown would go with everything.

I just haven’t fallen in love with canvas. Closest I’ve come was the Gucci Dionysus when it first came out. So no canvas for me. And, you know I’m not a brown bag girl. LOL!

I was surprised how much I liked the MZW bag that @catsinthebag suggested. It’s super cute. I would have bought it immediately except it has a red edging. Whhyyyyyy? I wish it was just the black and silver. But I’m still thinking. It’s so cute I want to make it work.

My boredom level from being housebound with this foot has reached new heights. So, of course I’m looking at handbag stuff. LOL! Bear with me as I do another Sparkle Bag Analysis posts.

I was curious to see what I paid for my bags so, I ranked them by price...

...and was floored. :whut:

First, I have price amnesia. I don’t recall paying what I did for some bags. This list gives me perspective going forward.

Second, price doesn’t correlate to favorites or most worn. My top 5 favorites are #1, 3, 4,10 and 18 in money spent. My top 5 most worn are #2, 8, 10, 11, 20. (FYI #10 which is a favorite and most worn is my pink Miss Dior)

Third, I’ve fallen more into “what the market requires” I pay than “how much do I crave the bag”. For example, I paid way more for my ivory Chanel than any of my Miss Diors. But, I wear the MD’s to death and love them to distraction while I’ve barely worn the ivory C. So, why so much for it? I should have forced myself to wait and found an ivory / cream bag I loved as much as my MD’s. This makes me want to sell it and find my perfect ivory bag. But, not now! LOL!

In contrast, I paid the least for my Jimmy Choo hobo and it’s one of my most used bags. I don’t adore it but it’s absolutely perfect for its spot in my collection. Honestly, it would have been worth paying full price.

So, this exercise tells me this:

1) Focus funds on what I crave and will use. This isn’t rocket science. LOL! I should be willing to spend the moon on bags that are perfect for me because I see from experience it will be a good spend and, more importantly, I’ll be happy.

2) I shouldn’t be afraid to spend “good” money on the perfect carefree / service bags. Carefree bags that I don’t like won’t get worn - period. Ones I do will be priceless - like the Jimmy Choo. I need to stop starving this category and plunge into what I want. Thinking about this for the nylon bag.

3) (I hate to say it) Keep my collection small-ish and only add what is mind blowing / giggle happy generating. I had “limited” myself to 30 premier & 10 non premier bags. But, my new inventory of 20 bags isn’t a problem because 16 of the 20 I purged were never getting worn. They were dead weight and needed to go. How was I blind to that???

Even more telling, of my remaining 20 bags, half are getting 70% of the wear. I like what I like and need to stick to that. If I’m not urgently craving the bag, I need to walk away.

This was really helpful. Makes me think:
• Do I love the black lamb Chanel enough to pay so much for it relative to my other bags?? Maybe?
• If my unicorn (black ghw Miss Dior) comes available, I should just get the darn thing at any reasonable price.
• Spend what I need to on the nylon bag.
• I’ll never own Hermes. LOL! I don’t crave the bags. So spending even more than I do now per bag on them isn’t a good spend.

I’m seeing @dcooney4 ‘s and @HopelessBagGirl ‘s MZ Wallace bags and thinking I need a truly carefree, non leather cross body bag.

I’ve been looking at Prada nylon bags but the cost is cuckoo. I’m not a big fan of Longchamps. Any other suggestions? Something still really cute so I’ll actually want to wear it. LOL! But also durable.

I like it when you're bored! I enjoy reading your analyses and I tend to do some of my own too (much needed!).

I'm happy that you're now able to let go of the dead weight! Sometimes we cling to items we know we will (almost) never use. And yes, don't hesitate to spend money on bags that you will use!
