2018 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

But, then DD and I haven’t agreed on a number of the Chanels. She liked the caviar red and I like the lamb. She liked the black patent and I don’t. She doesn’t like my beige and black tote. I love it, I just don’t wear it. So, her opinion is an FYI to me.
This morning when I was trying to use my gift card thingy I almost bought some that I thought would be nice because I liked the color and shape, but my gut told me the one I ended up ordering would actually work with my style better and is lighter.

If you mean in the pocket inside - it might! That's only a little larger than the 8, right?
I only carry laptops in padded briefcases so I won't be the best person to help.

These are so helpful. I’m looking at two totes that are 14.5 x 10 x 5 ish I just wanted to make sure they aren’t too big.
I just looked up the dimensions of the Chanel TT and they are 10.8″ x 13.8″ x 3.9″. That seems like a good size and I love the look. But, I am just not going to spend $5k on a tote.I’ll have it a long time hopefully but, I’ll wear it once a month maybe and I’m not a tote fan. So, I can’t justify it.
I’d rather drop the $5k on a single flap and an on sale new Fendi or new Gucci - both of which I’d wear to death. So, I’m looking at some other options.
The Neverfull PM is 11.4” W x 8.7” H x 5.1” D. that isn’t much bigger than my YSL satchel whjch is 11.7 x 8.6 x 5.8 so that would be too small for me. The Bayswater tote styling would be good for work but not for fun.
No, I don’t own any Massaccesi bags.

Soooo...I’m looking at 3 Chanel totes. I shoes all 3 to DD. Surprisingly she liked them in reverse order of cost (and reverse order of my preference.)
• The least expensive is a good price but a little older. Its a little on the smaller side (13 x 10 x 5) and more purse like. I like it but, I think I’d get discontent with it over time and wish I had spent more. It’s not quilted which is nice. But, I’m not sure I’m happy about that. I can’t decide LOL!
• The second is $1k more but, more up to date. It’s quilted and similar in styling to the GST but the double C’s are much smaller (thank goodness). It’s a larger than the first (14.5 x 11x 4.5) and has the center zip section I like.
• The third is the newest of the bunch and $1100 more. It’s similar in look to @catsinthebag Chanel Timeless Tote. About the same size as #2 (15 x 11 x 5) but as the largest of the 3, I wonder if it will feel more business tote than casual use tote.
All are non returnable so I need to be thoughtful.
And, of course I’m distracted by wanting to ignore tote land and simply get more bags I really want. A black single flap caught my eye. LOL! I know I’ll use that so it’s hard to buy the tote. But these are three great bags at good prices. I have had a hard time finding anything I like at a price I’m willing to pay so I think I should make a move.
Thoughts? HELP!
Make the choice based on desire, then practicality then look at the prices. Now check the order.

I loooove United Nude!!! Soooooo comfy!!! I can no longer get Aldo shoes bc they are ridiculously uncomfortable. But they're always cute! @msd_bags - Better to wait for a great shoe clearance, like at Bloomingdale's or something- your feet will thank you!

It’s small and look stiff. I also don’t like the proportion. I also don’t think it can hold much and be practical. I don’t like all style BV offer, too. Just some. This kind of leather work isn’t easy to work with and make it look pretty without being cheap or granny like.

Sound like you love the price more than the tote itself. Don’t get them.
Get that single flap you love and know you’ll use them.
If buying tote is tricky for you, choose to buy it in store and after you try it on. That’ll eliminate all the “I don’t know”. You’ll pay a bit more, but definitely you know what’ll come with it. Go out after everything is ok and then look for your tote.
Argh!!! This is why I sometimes hate this thread and always love all of you.

Reeeeaaaallly close. But, not the tote I’ll adore. (If such a beast exists!)In contrast, my eyes (er...eye lol!) lit up when I saw the black lamb classic flap. I started getting happy flutters. And, it being $1000 more than the most expensive tote doesn’t phase me. So, I have to be honest and say cost isn’t really the factor.
I feel resigned with the totes. I’m tired of looking and just want one to appear.

Again. It’s what I want. I need to not fight it. But, I’ll wait til my current black sf sells. It’s not like I actually need a black bag now.
Oh and yes, I had the eye surgery on Thursday! All went well. My sight is a little blurry but that will settle as swelling goes down. Unfortunately, I do have two subconjunctival hemorrhages which look super yucky but aren’t a health concern at all. But, seriously, it looks like I have a zombie eye. So, I’m acting like a bored, self absorbed starlet and wearing large sunnies everywhere including indoors.
I mentioned I’m going to one of my two BFF’s 50th bday party tomorrow. I’m struggling because I still haven’t bought a present. We are polar opposites in just about everything (politics, religious views, taste in men, preferred cuisine, you name it) and, as you’d expect, we have WILDLY different tastes (I despise everything she wears and she returns the feeling of horror at my wardrobe. LOL!).
So, it’s hard for me to pick clothes / bags / jewelry or anything else for her. I’ve even tried picking out the ugliest (nice quality) things I see and that doesn’t work either.
I’m thinking of gifting her a girls’ trip. (We are both travel junkies - other than liking to eat that is probably our only commonality HA!) Is that a good present? Or should a present for a 50th it be a tangible “thing”.
Ideas? She is an earthy wild child who loves hammered metal, boho, reggae music...

Yes, they totally are! With all the structural line they have, I was hesitated at first, but tried them on because the color fit my criteria. (I was in a rush looking for heels to go to a wedding that evening with my ankles still not in perfect condition. I was just looking for something in silver and blue with big heels.) Once I tried it on, I never looked back. And now they’re my go-to for heels if I need any. [emoji4] I mostly live in sneakers though. [emoji28] but I can almost run in them so kudos to the brand!
